To repair leather car seats, you will need a few specific tools. They are sold at auto parts stores. The list of such tools consists of the following elements:
- spatulas of various configurations;
- fine-grained (marking 2000) emery cloth;
- cooling pads, tweezers and leather cutting knives;
- reinforced mesh.
Also, you can not do without thermal powder, Teflon gaskets, an airbrush with a set of paints and an iron, as well as specialized compositions.
The sequence and technology of repair

The mesh surface is covered with a layer of thermal powder. A Teflon gasket is placed on top of it. The iron is heated to a temperature of 120-150 ° C so that it does not burn through the seats, but glues the mesh. The procedure lasts from 10 to 15 seconds. All the time it is necessary to move the iron over the surface to be glued.
When the procedure is completed, take a cooling bag and apply it to the repair site. So the leather surfaces become elastic.
When the gasket has cooled, it is removed. As for the reinforced mesh, it turns out to be securely glued and prevents the repair compound from getting inside the seats. If there are burrs, then they are removed. Such activities are mandatory, as painting follows, which completes the reconstruction process. leather seats.
A helium substance is placed at the repair site. To do this, it is rational to use a spatula. The solution is placed little by little, in a thin layer, so the seats will acquire the usual strength for the skin.
When the hole is completely filled with gel, the Teflon gasket is applied again. The next stage is heat treatment of the reconstruction site. This will thicken the gel. After hardening, it will "turn" into the skin. When heating is completed, bags with cooling filler are applied.
