Translation of twenty one songs. "Stressed Out" lyrics by Twenty One Pilots

American groupTwenty One Pilots made a real breakthrough in 2015, when her second studio album Blurry face debuted at number one on the chart Billboard 200 , and the single StressedOut ranked second BillboardHot 100 . Prior to this, the band members independently released two albums: Twenty One Pilots (2009) and Regional at Best(2011), and in 2013 their first studio album was released Vessel, already under label Fueled by Ramen.

The group in its current form consists of two people: Tyler Joseph And Josh Dana. Name Twenty One Pilots associated with Arthur Miller's play All My Sons. According to the plot, during the Second World War, the contractor, stinting on correcting his mistake, sends defective parts for aircraft to Europe, as a result of which 21 pilots die. This story reminds Joseph and Dan to this day that they must avoid the easy way and must live by principles.

Their music is difficult to attribute to one genre: there is rap, and rock, and electro-pop. Joseph is a vocalist and also plays piano, bass and ukulele. Dan is in charge of the rhythm section. Both guys were born in Columbus, Ohio, where they began to collect the first fans. It was in Ohio, in the house of Dan's parents, that scenes from the video for the song were filmed. StressedOut, which will be discussed further.

About the song

Single Stressed O ut was released on April 28, 2015; The track was included in the group's second studio album Blurry face. This is a song about childhood nostalgia and the burden adult life. Tyler Joseph sings it from the character's point of view Blurry face : Myname" s Blurry face, and I care what you think- "My name is Blurry face". About appearance Blurry face before the chorus and at the end "announces" a special instrument - .

Joseph explained MTV News, What Blurry face is "a guy who personifies everything that I feel insecure about, and not just me, but everyone around me." The theme of self-doubt runs through the entire work of the group, and even the makeup that Joseph puts on for performances ( black paint on the arms and neck), according to him, reflects this feeling.

About the appearance of the character Blurry face Tyler Joseph (on the album he is credited as the sole writer of the song) says: “While I was writing, the questions were swirling in my head: 'How do these things affect my lifestyle? How do I compensate for what I don't like about myself? What am I doing to hide it?” Many of the actions you take to hide your insecurities can hurt you. This character helped me understand my complexes, as well as why I have them and how I compensate for them. I give him a name and a place at the table so that I can properly examine him and thus analyze him. ( rolling stone, 2016)

Song Popularity StressedOut partly due to its eclecticism: it uses as elements contemporary music, and rhythms that can be found in the "old school" hip-hop hits. At the same time, the song addresses the universal theme of nostalgia for days long gone. Surely this topic is also familiar to those reading this article - those who are interested - so let's translate the lyrics of the song and do its grammatical analysis.

"Stressed Out" lyrics

stressed out

exhausted

The name can be translated in different ways: lyrical hero and his generation are “exhausted”, they live “in suspense”, “stressed” and “nerves” - all these are translations of the expression stressed out

I wish I found some better sounds no one's ever heard

I wish I had a better voice that sang some better words

I wish I could find better sounds that no one has heard

To sing to sleep- lull someone to sleep singing

We're stressed out

We are exhausted

Sometimes a certain smell will take me back to when I was young

How come I "m never able to identify where it" s coming from

Sometimes a certain smell takes me back to the days of my youth

Why can't I ever figure out where he's from?

To take back- return

How come?” can also be used as an independent question: “Why?”, “How so?”, “How did it happen?”

I "d make a candle out of it if I ever found it

Try to sell it, never sell out of it, I'd probably only sell one

If I ever found it I would make a candle out of it

Would try to sell, never sell it all, probably sell one

To make smth out of smth- make something out of smth.

To sell out- sell out

It "d be to my brother," cause we have the same nose

Same clothes, homegrown a stone's throw from a creek we used to roam

To my brother because we have the same nose

One clothes, we grew up a stone's throw from the bay where we liked to loiter

stone" s throw- two steps away, within reach,

Creek- gulf, cove

To roam- wander, roam, roam

But it would remind us of when nothing really mattered

Out of student loans and tree-house homes we would all take the latter

But it would remind us of a time when nothing really mattered to us.

Between a student loan and a treehouse, we would all choose the latter.

The last- the last (of two); the first (of two) the former. Interestingly, in the performance of Joseph last sounds very similar to ladder ("ladder") - we can assume that this is a deliberate pun, because in order to climb into a tree house, you really need a ladder

My name's Blurryface and I care what you think

My name is Blurry face and I care what you think

My name is Blurry face and I care what you think

Wish we could turn back time to the good old days

When our momma sang us to sleep but now we're stressed out

Wish I could turn back time, go back to the good old days

When mom used to lull us to sleep, but now we're exhausted

Wish we could turn back time to the good old days

When our momma sang us to sleep but now we're stressed out

Wish I could turn back time, go back to the good old days

When mom used to lull us to sleep, but now we're exhausted

Toplay pretend- pretend, play, imagining yourself as someone in imaginary situations

usedto indicates familiarity, repetition of actions in the past

Yeah

to make money- make money, make money

We used to play pretend, give each other different names

We would build a rocket ship and then we"d fly it far away

We played pretend, called each other different names

They built a rocket and launched it far, far away

Used to dream of outer space but now they're laughing at our face

Saying, “Wake up, you need to make money”
Yeah

We dreamed of space, and now they laugh in our face

And they say: “Wake up and go make money!”

Wish we could turn back time to the good old days

When our momma sang us to sleep but now we're stressed out

I wish I could turn back time, go back to the good old days.

When mom used to lull us to sleep, but now we're exhausted

Wish we could turn back time to the good old days

When our momma sang us to sleep but now we're stressed out

Wish I could turn back time, go back to the good old days

When mom used to lull us to sleep, but now we're exhausted

Used to play pretend, used to play pretend, bunny

We used to play pretend, wake up, you need the money

Played pretend, played pretend, bunny

Played pretend, wake up, you need money

We used to play pretend, give each other different names

We would build a rocket ship and then we"d fly it far away

We played pretend, called each other different names

They built a rocket and launched it far, far away

Used to dream of outer space but now they're laughing at our face

Saying, “Wake up, you need to make money”
Yeah

We dreamed of space, and now they laugh in our face

And they say: “Wake up and go make money!”

I'm thinking of something great

These thoughts come to me
So often that
I have to fill this hole
Tem that once bought.
Because someone stole
My car radio

Sometimes silence is violence.
It's hard for me to hide it.
My pride is out now
She's on my sleeve.
My skin will scream
reminding me of
The ones I killed in my mind.
I hate the car that I drive
I have nowhere to hide
I have to deal with how I feel
No more distractions, no more hiding reality
I could turn the steering wheel.

These thoughts come to me
So often that
I have to fill this hole
Tem that once bought.
Because someone stole
My car radio
And now I'm just sitting in silence.

I'm thinking of something terrible
'Cause there's no more sound
Which you can hide behind.
As the existence of mankind, I realized:
Every thing is made up of matter.
And that's what we fight in fear
God, I don't know if we know why we're here.
God,
Too deep.
Please stop thinking!
I liked it better
When my car had sound.

There are things we can do
But of those that work, there are only two
And of the two that we choose to do
The world will win
And fear will win.
There is faith and there is sleep.
We must choose the first one, please, because
Faith is needed to be conscious
To be conscious to think
Think to live.
And with every rhyme
I pretend that I'm dying
How I want to convince you
You must try to think.

These thoughts come to me
So often that
I have to fill this hole
Tem that once bought.
Because someone stole
My car radio
And now I'm just sitting in silence.

And now I'm just sitting in silence.
And now I'm just sitting in silence.
And now I'm just sitting...

And now I'm just sitting in silence.
And now I'm just sitting in silence.
And now I'm just sitting in silence.
And now I'm just sitting...

I'm thinking of something great
My lungs fill and empty.
Filled with fire, exhaling desire.
I know I'm having a terrible day today.

These thoughts come to me
So often that
I have to fill this hole
Tem that once bought.
Because someone stole
My tape recorder
And now I'm just sitting in silence.

October 5, 2018 we heard Trench, the band's fifth studio album Twenty One Pilots. Trench was recorded on the label Fueled by Ramen and in terms of the level of promotion, the upcoming release of preparation and forcing intrigue, it can easily compete for a place in the TOP-10 if such a rating were carried out.

In April 2018, the mysterious site dmaorg.info appeared, on which either a piece of handwritten text, or a picture, or an animated GIF began to appear with enviable frequency ... The clique enthusiastically began to compose the letters found in the prompts into words and look for patterns in numbers, dates, phrases , colors, etc. etc.

Over time, it became obvious even to skeptics that this was not just a set of clues, but a well-thought-out conspiracy quest that leads the reader to an understanding of what is happening in the mysterious city of DEMA. There are many studies on the web on this topic ... I advise you to study this material, and much (if not all) will become clearer to you ( I would like to take this opportunity to thank its creators).

On the album, we see 14 tracks that reveal the whole concept of this story, captivating with its elaboration of the depth of semantic load. Here are the lyrics and translations of all songs from the Trench album and we wish you a pleasant journey through the fictional world, authored by Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun.

Happy listening! We hope that our translations have made this complicated but terribly interesting story at least a little clearer for you 😉

Jumpsuit is one of the first two tracks published by Twenty One Pilots after a long silence (over two years). The track was released simultaneously with the video, which allowed you to fully immerse yourself in the gloomy atmosphere described in the song ...

Levitate is the third single from the band's album, which was also released simultaneously with the video on August 8, 2018. The song completely continues the theme of the new reality, which is consistently presented in previous (previously published) singles.

3 Morph

The word Morph (morph), in its essence, is international and does not need to be translated. At least, such derivatives as metamorphoses, polymorphism, etc., are firmly entrenched in our speech. If translation is still needed, then the most accurate word would be: “variability” or even “transformation”. In this case, we have to hear Tyler's opinion about what happens to us after death.

There are three options for who the author is addressing in the song: a) Tyler is addressing his family and his loved ones; b) The story is told on behalf of the Creator, who refers to his creations; c) The action takes place, as in the previous three singles, in the city of Dema, and in this case the words are addressed to "Banditos". Choose the version that is closer to you... 😉

The song contains an extremely important phrase - “Beat, this is also chemistry” - the meaning of which boils down to the following - music is also capable of both killing a person (destroying him from the inside) and producing the opposite effect, becoming a kind of antidote (neutralizer, if you use chemical terms) .

Smithereens is a song written by Tyler Joseph to his wife Jenna. The musician demonstrates that despite the wild rise in popularity of Twenty One Pilots over the past few years, his feelings for Jenna do not fall under the influence of his stage life and career events do not concern their personal lives at all.

Tyler and Josh have never shied away from talking about suicide, however, they have repeatedly spoken out against the "romanticization" of passing away by own will. Young people, and especially people experiencing life's difficulties, are very sensitive to bright words and are able to perceive admiring stories about artists and musicians who left us untimely as a motivation for action.

The Hype track touches on the theme of maintaining hope in hard times both on the mental and physical level. The lyrics of the song urge the listener, overcoming life's obstacles, not to lose faith, even if internal or external problems cause inconvenience.

The track was released simultaneously with the single Jumpsuit long before the release of the album. The text of the song immerses us in a fictional world and we get acquainted with the city of Dema. At the head of the city are Niko and his retinue - the Nine Bishops. Also in the city, there are rebels (bandits) who are not satisfied with the status quo and seek to escape away from this oppression.

The track "Cut My Lip" tells the story of an overwhelming determination to navigate life's unpredictable terrain. In terms of the concept of the album, main character he is ready to do everything possible to leave DEMA, and he is well aware that a huge number of difficulties await him along the way, many of which will even be able to kill him.

Banditos is the name of a group of rebels fighting for their rights in the city of Dema. All these people, and the main narrator Clancy, are well aware that they are "outlaws" and consciously embarked on this path, because they want to leave the hated city ruled by bishops, led by Niko.

And here is a cheetah, you ask (and in your head, a domestic hit will probably sound, with the name "Panda" and the mention of cheetah-r-r-r-r-r-r-rd in the chorus) 🙂 If you have not followed the development events leading up to the release of the Trench album, then you probably won't be very interested to know the answer...

Tyler dedicated the track "Legend" to his grandfather, Robert Joseph, who died on March 17, 2018, just as he was working on the album. By the way, it is Grandpa Robert who is depicted on the right side of the Vessel (2013) album cover. Tyler also mentions his niece, Pepper Chloe Joseph, who was born less than a month after Robert's death.

Leave The City is the final track from Twenty One Pilots' album Trench. That is why it is worth listening to the song very carefully. It is from her that we will understand how everything will end ... and whether it will end at all. In the song, the narrator describes the moment when he leaves the city of Dema, to which the entire album is dedicated.

I will be very pleased if you share this article with your friends 😉
