About the new show
For me, this project has a special meaning. It took me a long time to show a completely new, unique fairy tale, which was created specifically for our show. "Sleeping Beauty. A Legend of Two Kingdoms is a full-fledged independent interpretation of the story of an enchanted princess and a powerful fairy. Fascinating storylines, exciting and unexpected ending. I really want the musical on ice to awaken the most sincere feelings in people and remind them that kindness and love can destroy the most powerful spell.
In terms of beauty and manufacturability, this performance has no analogues. We cooperate with the best specialists: special effects, artistic finds, lighting elements, costumes - everything is done at the highest level. Thanks to all this, a magical, magical atmosphere is created.
About the choice of subjects for productions
I choose fairy tales based on my own desires and feelings. When I first thought about what I would bring to the viewer, something Russian and meaningful was important to me. Reading Ruslan and Lyudmila to my child for the night, I suddenly realized that many have not read this fairy tale and do not know the plot. The rest - and "The Scarlet Flower", and "Sleeping Beauty. The legend of the two kingdoms ”- I chose, starting only from my impressions and desires, from what I would like my daughter and other children to see. In the last fairy tale, at first I play a good fairy, but then, because of betrayal in love, I become evil. It is important for me to change, to look for myself in new images.
At the premiere of one of the most anticipated New Year's shows - the ice performance "Sleeping Beauty. Legend of Two Kingdoms”, which was held with the support of the jewelry and watch company Chopard, almost all the stars came with their children. Ani Lorak posed with her daughter Sophia. The girl and the singer were dressed in the so-called Family look style, when the outfit of an adult and a child is either the same or very similar.

For free, vinegar is usually sweet, but it wasn’t there :))
So the pros:
1) The entire visual part of the performance. Breathtaking costumes, excellent lighting, pyrotechnics and other special effects, characters flying under the ceiling and above the heads of the audience. Considering how much dough has been swelled, one should not be surprised, but here it is clear that it is well spent. The spectacle, of course, inspires.
2) Skating itself is beyond praise. Navka dances wonderfully, she has assembled an international star-champion ensemble. Pyotr Chernyshev, especially given his current personal circumstances, is simply a hero and the king of ice. I was pleased to recognize in the king and queen my favorite Lithuanian, and now the Moscow champion couple Margarita Drobyazko and Povilas Vanagas - these are the most dramatic images from a dramatic point of view. The rest are great too. True, Zagitova flopped on the triple jump, and the star American too, but nothing.
On this, in fact, the pluses end. An ice show, an ice musical is by no means only figure skating, this and much more. First of all, music.
Two hours of the performance can be moved with great difficulty - there is simply no music, or rather, it simply does not exist. It is difficult to call a set of some vulgar sounds a musical. The name of the composer - some kind of Sergei Kovalsky - does not mean anything to me. So, if Sergei Kovalsky is a composer, then I am Pablo Picasso. The only desire was to turn off the sound and sit, just enjoying the picture. My friends, who were sitting next to me, at some point leaned over to my ear and asked - "Can't you turn off the sound?" For the first time in my life, I regretted not carrying earplugs with me.
If I had asked in advance who was the main vocalist there, I would not have gone :)). Almost all male parts are sung by Kirkorov. The website of the show says that Grigory Leps is also, but somehow I didn’t hear Leps. Spending New Year's Eve listening to Kirkorov is, of course, a surprise. And someone else paid money for it! From a classic French fairy tale to make a thug chanson with the most vulgar overtones of Kirkorov - it was necessary to try hard. All the female parts, it seemed to me, were sung by Allegrova with her drunk and smoky vulgar intonations, but the site says that it was Anastasia Stotskaya. Do not believe, as they say, your ears. In general, if something looks like Allegrova, sings like Allegrova, wheezes like Allegrova, but the site says that this is Stotskaya, then this is Stotskaya.
Couldn't Navka, with her opportunities, connections, acquaintances, resources, budget, pick up normal music and normal performers for the show?? Yes, with her potential it was quite possible to invite Placido Domingo to sing the king, and Khibla Gerzmava - the princess. Was there really no one to tell you that you shouldn't flush the musical down the toilet, and that a classic fairy tale isn't a country club party?
By the way, about the story itself. I, naive, sat for almost all two hours, waiting for the fairy Carabosse to appear, and the princess to prick her finger with a spindle. Fuck two! All my titanic efforts to disassemble the plot and understand what, in fact, is happening on the stage, ended in nothing. Who are all these people? Why are they dancing in feathers? Who is who's uncle and where is whose granddaughter? Why was Navka just a good fairy in white, and now some kind of grim vixen in anthracite-black rags? Who saves whom, who killed whom, who died and who did not die - all this is a mystery shrouded in darkness. Children in the stands are spinning, pulling their parents: “Mom, who is this? Mom, what are they doing?" - mothers are embarrassedly stupid, although it seems that everyone has read Charles Perrault. I assure you, there is nothing in common with Perrault's fairy tales, and it's easier to immediately put up with the idea that there will be a happy ending at the end. In general, except for irritation, such a “libretto” does not cause anything. I wonder if the authors themselves understood what they wanted to say? ...
Well, the most important thing. The grandiose format of the megaarena does not save the spectacle. There is no effect of presence, there is no empathy, there is no feeling of dissolution in action, all this makes noise, rumbles and yells somehow past you.
My advice to you - if you want to see a really chic ice show - come to Novopushkinsky Square. There you will find music, and skating, and costumes, and an atmosphere of magic, and the same Chernyshev can pull his pants, and the characters communicate with the audience on the stage, and your favorite tunes from classical ballets and operas, and all the pleasure costs 100 rubles - feel difference. Just now I came from the enchanting "Cipollino" - a full bag of pleasure! The ice theater will work until January 12, usually two performances a day. Come!!!
