How to draw the letter K beautifully (with a pencil in stages)? - Useful information for everyone. How to draw the alphabet in Adobe Illustrator Drawing the letter v

It is believed that a huge number of factors can influence a person’s handwriting: patience, perseverance, some character traits and even physiological features of the structure of his hand.

When is the best time to learn to write beautifully?

If you want to have a clear and legible handwriting, of course, it is most correct to start classes to improve it from childhood. Some children are interested in the process of writing even before the right age, so you can safely start teaching your child even before school. It is believed that the optimal age to start learning the basics of calligraphy, that is, how to draw the letters of the alphabet beautifully, is 5 or 6 years old.

How to learn calligraphy?

Many believe that in order for handwritten letters to look beautiful, it is necessary to complete special courses in the art of perfect writing. Unfortunately, not everyone dares to spend a certain amount of money trying to master this skill. However, there is another method by which you can learn how to draw the letters of this or that alphabet beautifully without resorting to any preliminary master class. This method is widely used among calligraphy professionals and amateurs alike.

What is a stencil?

Perhaps, many have come across such a term as "stencil". This word has Italian roots (“traforetto”) and literally translates as “perforated plate”. Its name almost completely conveys the very essence of this element: it consists of a fairly dense material, such as cardboard, on which this or that image is preliminarily applied, and then this or that image is cut out. This method allows you to get repeatedly repeated images, therefore, there will no longer be a need to work on each of them separately. Naturally, any inscription can also become a stencil, which can be transferred to the desired surfaces many times. So, the “perforated plate” is an excellent option for how to beautifully draw letters, which can then be used for completely different purposes (designing postcards and invitations, decorating clothes, furniture and household items).

Disadvantages of illegible handwriting

Today, the need for handwriting is increasingly receding into the background due to the modernization of the writing process as such. Preference is given to computer input, keyboards have replaced ballpoint pens that are familiar to us, and typing any text document is now much easier and faster than reproducing it by hand. But still, sometimes a situation arises when the need to write even a few sentences on your own cannot be avoided, and it is in this case that the problem of many people is revealed - insufficiently legible handwriting. Learning how to draw beautiful letters, while maintaining the acquired skills, is very difficult, but quite real. Therefore, in order to prevent periodic reproaches regarding the incomprehensible configuration of characters on paper, one should learn to write them clearly and as gracefully as possible.

How to draw the necessary materials

Not only practice, but also some additional details will help ensure the unique spelling of the elements of the alphabet, all of which can be easily found in any store specializing in. These items include the following:

  • a sheet of transparent rigid film;
  • a set of markers;
  • awl;
  • roller ruler (with its help parallel lines are applied);
  • paper;
  • model knife.

Exercises used to improve handwriting

The statement that writing style cannot be improved is an absolute fallacy. It is quite possible to do this, but then it is recommended to use the following instructions.

Regular implementation of the above lessons is guaranteed to help improve handwriting, and calligraphy will no longer seem something completely unattainable.

And of course we are happy with her new lesson. Especially since it will be about how to draw your alphabet in Adobe Illustrator. This is how Natalia's final illustration looks like. I am sure that after this tutorial, you will be able to make your own alphabet in illustrator.

In this tutorial, I want to show you how to create your own font in Illustrator from scratch. The lesson is designed for those who do not have a graphics tablet. We will take simple shapes: sticks, circles and squiggles. And we will collect letters from this.

You may already know that various fonts and lettering are very popular on microstocks these days. I will tell you right away - I have never studied calligraphy and have not taken a single lesson on the Internet. I tried, but I wasn't enough. Everything turned out so difficult that, I'm sure, many simply gave up. The lessons were based on the fact that you had to first write the text on paper, then either scan or take a picture, then transfer it to Illustrator, then make a trace, remove extra points, align ... And the question invariably arose: why is it so difficult ?? Why not just start writing with the Brush tool in Illustrator? But of course, not everyone has a tablet, and it is inconvenient to display letters with a mouse. After experimenting and sniffing a little at the monitor, I figured out how to make everything much easier. And now you will find out how!

And a little clarification if anyone is interested. What is a font? It's just all letters of the same style. They are similar: they all have the same roundness, the same line length, or the same squiggles on the letters. What is lettering? These are just hand-drawn letters - freehand on paper, in Illustrator with the Pencil or Brush tool, painted in watercolor, pencil, or even carved into rock. "Inscriptions", in a word, which are created for a specific idea or situation. In lettering, the letters may not be very similar, but they are united by one idea. For example, the phrase "Good morning" with a cup of coffee, or "I wish you a good day" and the letters are circled with flower leaves, etc.

I also want to warn you that this lesson is to learn how to create a font, to master the tools, to acquire some skills, but not at all to upload it to Shutterstock or another microstock after creating a font and sell it there. Illustrations drawn from lessons cannot be uploaded to stocks. Because if you make a copy of the work from the lesson - this is called plagiarism. When I see a drawing on Shutterstock from my lesson, I usually write to support (yes, started fighting again) and they delete it, or even the entire portfolio. I am writing this because many simply do not know that you cannot sell pictures based on other people's lessons.

Now, if everyone is ready, let's get started.

1. Settings

First, let's make a few adjustments to make drawing easier. After creating a new document, click Edit > Preferences > Guides & Grid... We will set up a special grid that will help you draw evenly. After that, a new window will appear where you need to enter the settings shown in the figure below. The colors in this box, of course, do not matter, put what you like, but the numbers do, so enter as shown. And then you press OK.

And one more important setting: View > Snap to Grid(link to grid). And than View > Snap to Point(snap to a point). That's all for now, it will be easy to draw now.

The font will be created in English, written.

We will use only 3 tools: Line, Oval and Arch (Line Segment Tool (\), Ellipse Tool (L), Arc Tool).

Pay attention to the height of the letters:

2. Draw the letter "a"

First we will draw all the lowercase letters and then all the uppercase ones.

Look at the panel Color (Window > Color) and make sure you remove the fill and leave only a black stroke color.

We take the tool Oval (Ellipse Tool (L)) and draw a circle. Then take the tool and add a vertical line three cells high. Using the tool Arch (Arc Tool), draw a small arc within the boundaries of one cell. Those. put a dot in the upper left corner of the cell and stretch to the lower right corner. Then we add two more arcs that finish forming the characteristic squiggle of our font, which will later be repeated for other letters.

3. Draw the letter "b"

Just like with the previous letter, we start with a circle, for drawing which we use the tool Oval (Ellipse Tool (L)). Then add a vertical line four cells high. And at the top of this line we draw an arc one cell in size using the tool Arch (Arc Tool).

4. Draw the letter "c"

To do this, we will first draw a circle, and then cut off the unnecessary part. So we drew a circle. To cut off unnecessary parts, we need to turn off snap to grid: View > Snap to Grid. Then we take the tool Scissors Tool (C) and cut off so that the letter "c" is obtained. After cutting off the unwanted part, you can delete it by pressing the key Delete on your keyboard.

And in the end, be sure to turn it back on View > Snap to Grid.

5. Draw the letter "d"

We will not draw this letter. We'll just take the letter "b", make a copy (Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V) and just flip it from left to right. Then select this copy, and press the right mouse button, select from the pop-up menu Transform > Reflect. A dialog box will appear where you need to enter the vertical axis of reflection (Vertical), corner 90 degrees and press OK. Our letter is ready.

6. Draw the letter "e"

When drawing this letter, we will only use the tool Arc (Arc Tool). In the picture below you can see the process step by step. Follow it to create the letter "e".

7. Draw the letter "f"

To have a rough idea of how our letter will look at the end, let's first look at the picture with the end result.

Now let's draw. Tool first Line (Line Segment Tool (\)) draw a vertical line 6 cells high. We add several arcs one cell high to draw the bottom squiggle. For the top squiggle, at the top of the vertical line, draw an arc two cells high and one cell wide. And then we add two more small arcs per cell. At the end, we put a horizontal line two cells long. If the text is not very clear, just follow the picture:

8. Draw the letter "g"

And now let's try a little ourselves. I'm sure the step-by-step drawing below, in which each line/arc/circle is marked with a different color, will help you draw the letter "g".

9. Draw the letter "h"

We continue drawing a new letter. Follow the sequence in which the colors of each line / arc change, and you will understand how to draw.

10. Draw the letter "i"

11. Draw the letter "j"

12. Draw the letter "k"

13. Draw the letter "l"

14. Draw the letter "m"

15. Draw the letter "n"

The letter "C" gives a lot of opportunities to show imagination. See what she looks like. A broken ring, a crescent, a snake, a lizard or a dragon, a rainbow turned on its side - many images arise. Think about which one best suits your task. For a New Year or Christmas card, a crescent moon is suitable, for an ecological holiday - a snake or a lizard. You can even write the most ordinary letter "C" and place something like an asterisk and a flower in it. If you need to write a name starting with this letter, choose characters that are specific to that person.

Crescent

Draw a ring with a pencil. Delete the part of the line on the right. To draw a crescent, just draw another line of lesser curvature between the ends. The horns should be thinner than the middle. The resulting crescent can be braided with an ornament of vines or flowers. You can make a crescent and voluminous. To do this, draw another arc in the middle. Color the halves of the letter in different shades of the same color - for example, light yellow and dark yellow.

What to draw inside?

The letter "C" looks very good, in which there is some kind of pattern in the center. Draw "C" like a regular letter or like a crescent moon with long horns. Inside, draw an asterisk so that its center approximately coincides with the center of the ring. An asterisk can be with any number of rays. What color to paint it in depends on the style of work. It can be in tone with the letter, close in hue or contrasting. For a New Year's card on a black or dark blue background, it is better to make the inscription in gold, and if you congratulate someone on their birthday, the letters and even their individual elements can be multi-colored. Inside the letter "C" there can also be a spruce or pine branch, a precious stone and other beautiful objects.

snake or lizard

If you draw a dragon, his head will be somewhat thicker than that of a snake. Don't forget to draw stylized paws.

Such a letter "C" does not have to begin with a ring. You can simply draw an arc, in which the convex part is located on the left. Its ends can diverge at any angle, because the snake tends to wriggle the way it wants. At the top end of the arc draw the head - it's just a thickening. Continue the inner line so that near the lower end it approaches the outer one, because a snake or a lizard has a very thin tail tip. Color the snake with patterns.

avant-garde letter

The elements of the avant-garde font can be any objects. For example, what prevents you from drawing letters in the form of berries, apples and even sausages for an anniversary in a cafe?

Draw a double arc, the same throughout its thickness. Divide it into segments. Color each segment. The avant-garde method is quite simple - draw a double arc, divide it into segments, and turn each segment into something that matches your idea - an apple, an egg or a sausage. Remove extra lines.

At trainings, sessions, presentations, and even in private messages, I am regularly asked how I manage to draw letters so beautifully. Usually I laugh off stories about handy markers, but of course, this is not only about them. Now I will tell you what you need to do in order to draw beautiful letters with ANY markers.

  1. Beginners (myself included) often make the mistake of trying to write quickly on a flipchart. And they get scribbles or poorly readable words. The hand can never keep up with the voice. That's why give yourself as much time as you need to draw beautiful letters. When someone draws, it captivates the audience. The main thing is to comment on your actions and do not stand with your back to the audience. I recommend turning halfway.
  2. Don't limit yourself by drawing only with your hand, add other muscles as well. Drawing is a good physical activity. Sure, it can't compare to running or swimming, but it's also a workout. Include arms, shoulders, back and even legs in the process. The more muscles are involved in the process, the faster the skill will be formed, and then the speed increase is just a stone's throw away!
  3. Start by sketching Your any fonts. This, for example, can be Helvetica or Times New Roman. Write one word, circle it several times. Write another word, take a yellow, blue or light green marker or pencil and add a shadow. Make the third word more convex. Draw first on A4 sheets or in a notebook, then go to a flipchart or magnetic board. Experiment!
  4. If something doesn't work for you, stop. Remember about the three-trial rule. Relax, switch to something else. Everything cannot be done. Choose a different font or way of drawing letters, try different lines. Knowing your capabilities and limitations is a step towards success.
  5. Start with sheets of paper in the box. This will allow you to make letters and words even and control the vertical and horizontal. When you feel more confident, you can switch to blank white sheets. Although I personally still prefer notebooks and checkered flipchart sheets.

Get results with pleasure!

Workshops / Workshops for ages 10 and up / Graffiti

The most popular styles in graffiti

Graffiti is plot or letter compositions graphically created on a wall or any other street surface, created using spray paint. Such drawings can be seen in the subway, on buildings, in transitions.

Graffiti is considered a youth subculture, but its history is deeply rooted in our history. Its progenitors are considered to be rock inscriptions and images of animals.

The boom of modern graffiti arose in the 60s of the twentieth century in the United States with the advent of the youth direction "Hip-Hop", which included both music, dance, and graphic works on the walls. The new culture was supposed to distract black youth from crime and hooliganism in the neighborhoods.

Thus, this culture served as an occasion to popularize the direction not only among blacks, but also in other segments of the country's population.

The fonts that are used in graffiti are varied and numerous, so the main task is to come up with your own style based on the standard fonts available. Take, for example, standard printed Russian letters (Fig. 1).

They are simple, they have straight lines and sharp corners. To make the font more interesting, it can be converted to another one.

Let's start first with the compositional construction, so that the letters look correct and competent. To do this, we take sheet A 4, measure 4 cm from above and below and draw straight lines. In this rectangle, we will build a new font.

The next step is to make the letters wider and round off the sharp corners (Fig. 2).

Then, we take a bright blue felt-tip pen, cover the letters with color, and then circle with a contrasting blue so that our letters stand out (Fig. 3).

According to the same scheme, letters can be stylized as follows - make the lines wavy or “trembling”, and in some places make a “jagged effect”, as in the letter “A” (Fig. 4).

The graffiti font can also be thin (Fig. 5). Let's take the English word "ZOO" this time, draw thin letters, and make a slight overlay of one letter on another.

Then let's take a look at one of the most popular typefaces, which has pointed and curved letter elements. They are made with felt-tip pens and watercolor pencils (Fig. 6). Let's take the English alphabet as an example.

In order to understand how to build these letters (Fig. 7), let's take a sheet of A 4 format, and draw the following grid: step back from the top 2-3 cm, then 4 cm and 1 cm, and then again 4 cm. Thus so that we get 5 long rectangles, and between each 1 cm.

The next step is to draw with a simple pencil each letter of this style (Fig.

How to draw beautiful letters

And only then we paint over them with the color we like.

Having disassembled the alphabet, now let's try to draw, in fact, graffiti. Let's take the English word "SKY" (sky) and first make a pencil sketch (Fig. 9).

Then, on the sketch, we make the letters voluminous (Fig. 10).

At the end of the work, we cover the letters with a blue marker, make the volume blue, and the stars gray (Fig. 11).

Our drawing is ready!

You can draw letters in an original way using special computer programs. Get a notebook that first-graders usually use - with slanted lines for teaching spelling. Have a person with beautiful handwriting draw letters on each page, or print samples on paper. Indeed, in case of failure, the drawing can be easily erased or corrected.

The trend towards the use of typewritten text is increasing every year: less and less people take up pen and paper, but more often they turn to the keyboard. Sometimes typing text on a computer is easier, faster and more beautiful than by hand. However, having good handwriting is relevant at all times, and you can be able to draw letters beautifully after long training. It is never too late to learn how to draw capital letters beautifully, however, for the formation of calligraphic handwriting in the future, it is recommended to start training writing skills already at preschool age. Therefore, in order to prevent periodic reproaches regarding the incomprehensible configuration of characters on paper, one should learn to write them clearly and as gracefully as possible.

In an effort to draw letters beautifully, some people even go to perfect writing courses, but mastering this skill is much easier than it seems at first glance. In particular, you can create stencils out of cardboard or PVC if you plan to apply a lot of large letters on any surfaces. To do this, it is enough to redraw the images of the letters on the material used and cut out their outline. To draw letters beautifully, all that remains is to attach the stencil to the surface and paint over it.

The letter A can be drawn with a pencil in stages in various ways, it all depends on the imagination, even depending on why we need to write this letter. At the end, it will be possible to erase everything superfluous with an eraser and circle it with a felt-tip pen.

How beautiful to draw letters

Like any child, Evusha loves to draw very much. She draws every day (I'm not talking about our organized drawing classes). He just takes a piece of paper, and more often several at once, a pencil or pen and draws.

For parents who do not know how to draw and copy at all, you can print the copied letter on a colored sheet of paper. Then put on the printed sheet of plastic. If you decide to transfer to cardboard, then you will have to use carbon paper.

How to draw the letter I beautifully (with a pencil in stages)?

The letter A is easy to draw.

How to draw the name Nastya? We will draw it using the Karmen font. Perhaps it is simpler than the previous one.

The letter I can be depicted as a simple way that everyone can handle if you print out the template and simply draw the letter along the contours. In this case, it is necessary to strictly follow all the lines and bends, and only after transferring imaginary letters onto paper. According to experts, this type of activity can give handwriting greater clarity and evenness. The trick is to copy the outlines of the text/letters and you're done, depth!

Next, draw exactly the same line, but a little shorter. You can download coloring pages with letters from the Internet and invite your child to color them. On the top we draw letters and partially make cuts with scissors or a clerical knife. On the bottom layer of paper, you can make a drawing corresponding to a given letter or number. You can attach an application. It can be a “fringe” of colored paper, “sprinkling” of confetti, scrapbooking paper, newsprint tubes, voluminous curls, fans or snowflakes.

Order

How to order volumetric letters (signboards with volumetric letters)?

Order Process signboards with three-dimensional letters consists of several stages:

1. Volumetric letters | sign design layout:

Usually, for outdoor and interior signs, corporate writing is used - the logo and trademark of the company, in this case everything is quite simple - the work of the layout designer remains. If there is no corporate spelling, you need to create it or use ready-made fonts that are available in any graphic and text editor.

In any case, three-dimensional letters (elements) must have some shape and size, and at this stage you solve this problem yourself or with the help of our designers.

Briefly about the design layout:

2. Volumetric illuminated and non-illuminated letters | technology choice:

As you can see from the name, volumetric letters can be illuminated and non-illuminated. Most often, signs have a facial glow, i.e. only the front part of the sign elements is lit. This is the simplest technology, only three-dimensional elements with external illumination are simpler. Also, three-dimensional letters can have a side glow and / or backlight glow (in this version, the light is also directed back - to the facade, creating a luminous "halo" around the letters, while the letters must be mounted at a distance of several centimeters from the facade). Gas-light tubes or LED modules are used as light elements, and gas-light tubes can be located not only inside the letter, but also fill the front surface of the letters (this technology is called "open neon").

Cases of letters, depending on the size and illumination option, are made of aluminum, plastic or plexiglass. If plastic or plexiglass is used to make the body of three-dimensional letters, then it is pasted over with a self-adhesive film, if the letters are aluminum, then they can be painted in any desired color.

At this stage, our technical specialists, based on the finished design layout and your wishes, will offer optimal technologies for the production of three-dimensional letters and calculate the cost.

Briefly about the choice of volume letters technology:

3. Installation and connection:

When ordering a sign, it is necessary to provide an electrical outlet for its connection. You will receive recommendations from our technical experts on the location of the outlet and the required cable as soon as the two previous steps have been completed.

It should be taken into account that work on providing an electrical outlet for a sign is carried out by full-time electricians servicing the facility on which the sign is located. The second component of the installation of illuminated letters, namely the wiring diagram and work plan, is worked out together with the technical services of the facility: a scheme for attaching a sign is developed, the need for metal frame frames, the location of transformers for neon or power supplies for LED modules is determined. It also determines the time of work (day or night), the need for special equipment (cranes, aerial platforms), their location during installation and other necessary data.

Briefly about the installation and connection of volumetric letters:

It is necessary to provide (make) an electric outlet by the time of installation!!! We will advise you on the location and the required cable cross-section.

Coordinate the fastening scheme (together with the technical services of the facility) !!!

This makes our technical department with facility technical services

4. Conclusion of the contract and terms of work

The terms of work production depend on the scope of work, the complexity of illuminated three-dimensional letters, the terms of coordination of various technical details of the project. The production and installation itself usually takes from 14 to 20 days for small and medium-sized projects (for example, 15-20 volumetric illuminated letters with installation). For large letters - with complex installation work (roof installations, etc.), the production time is 1.5 - 2 months.

To conclude an agreement, in addition to all the necessary technical details, standard data is required (details, copies of Certificates of registration with the tax office and registration of an enterprise, a copy of the power of attorney for the person signing the agreement, or an appointment order). We will prepare the contract for the manufacture and installation ourselves.

Briefly about the terms of work and the conclusion of a contract for the production of three-dimensional letters:

Naturally, if the design project is already ready, and all that remains is to manufacture and assemble (for example, for network retailers), then the manufacture itself takes a little time - sometimes several days, so we are happy to give discounts to trained customers who do not load our managers, designers and technical services.

So let's summarize:

Here are collected beautiful, interesting, unusual symbols of different scripts of the world, similar to Cyrillic and Latin letters. They can be used when there is no way to change the font, but you really want to diversify the text. For example, when corresponding in social networks, or for nicknames. Here is the symbol. It seems that the Russian letter b, but in fact, it is from the Coptic alphabet. It is called chima (Shima). It was used by the Egyptians 15 centuries ago.

How to draw beautiful letters

Perhaps the coincidence is not accidental - both Coptic and Cyrillic were created on the basis of the Greek alphabet. But there are more letters in Russian. This is because there were more sounds in the language. The missing letters Cyril and Methodius (the creators of the Russian alphabet) probably just came up with. Hence such difficulties with the search for analogues for I, Yu, Y, b. If you wish, you can browse the sections yourself, perhaps you will find a lot of interesting things.

In addition, not all Unicode characters are supported by fonts. In the text, such squares are displayed instead.

Many of these beautiful letters (or just weird ones) are modifications of standard letters. Miscellaneous dots and strokes are diacritical marks. They denote pronunciation features in different languages, such as a long vowel sound or a soft consonant. By scoring a letter in the search on the site, you can find out where it came from. For nicknames (and not only), you can (if possible) also use numbers and other characters for a nickname from Unicode.
