Andre rier concerts. Henre Rieu - Waltz King

Attended an Andre Rieu concert

Dear friends, it was not by chance that I included Anthony Hopkins waltz performed by the Andre Rieu orchestra in the previous post. I had the honor to see and hear Maestro Andre Rieu himself))

On Saturday I attended a concert by Andre Rieu and his orchestra. I am absolutely delighted with the concert.
I liked everything, including the organization of parking, where we did not lose a single second. And about the organization of the concert itself, I generally keep quiet.
Everything was beautiful and emotional and passed at a high level, colorful, fun, with humor and cool effects and jokes. Just wonderful!
I liked that the whole concert was still broadcast on a large monitor, you could see the faces and facial expressions, all the grimaces of the maestro himself. On the stage, on the big screen, pictures of the scene of the action of the performed works were reproduced, whether it was arias or Strauss's waltz "on the beautiful blue Danube", etc.

Aranjuez Concerto by the Spanish composer Joaquín Rodrigo

I did not remember the names of the performers of the arias or solos on the instruments. For example, three tenors sang. I just remembered one from Hungary, another from Tasmania, the third from France.

And this is how they joked with the audience :)) They just brushed off the artificial snow ... and here you are!

Hallelujah

In conclusion, Andre Rieu said that he has been traveling with the orchestra with concerts for 12 years all over the world. But he just has not been to one country ....... This is a country in our dreams, where everyone is happy and where there is no and never there will be wars, where people live in happiness and peace .... all without exception ...

And it was performed as an encore

The Second Waltz

Kalinka, performance of Andre Rieu

A little about Andre Rieu himself:
André Leon Marie Nicolas Rieu (Dutch. André Léon Marie Nicolas Rieu; born October 1, 1949, Maastricht) is a Dutch conductor and violinist, called in the press the Waltz King after Johann Strauss-son. Son of conductor Andre Rieu Sr.

He studied in Liege, then in Maastricht, in 1977 he graduated from the Brussels Conservatory; Rieu's teachers included, among others, André Gertler and Hermann Krebbers. He played second violin in the Limburg Symphony Orchestra under the direction of his father.

Having founded the Maastricht Salon Orchestra, which consisted of literally a few musicians, Rieu performed with them in Dutch nursing homes, performing Viennese waltzes. In 1987, under the direction of Ryo, the Johann Strauss Orchestra was created, initially with 12 performers. In 1992, the orchestra recorded the first disc, Merry Christmas; in 1994, the recording of the Second Waltz from the Suite for Variety Orchestra by Dmitry Shostakovich made Ryo and his new team famous throughout the Netherlands, and the second album, Strauss and Company (eng. Strauß & Co.), did not leave the national Top100 for about a year. A recording of Shostakovich's waltz was used in the musical score for Stanley Kubrick's film Eyes Wide Shut.

In the future, Ryo with his orchestra toured widely around the world, released up to seven albums (studio and live) a year, increased the composition of the orchestra to 50-55 musicians. By 2008, Ryo's albums had sold 27 million copies.

Popular in the performance of Rieu, accompanied by the Johann Strauss orchestra led by him, was the Anthony Hopkins waltz And The Waltz Goes On (“And the waltz goes on”; German - “Life goes on”).
