Support bearing replacement
So, if something is wrong, the only way out is to replace the support bearing - the support bearing cannot be repaired. To work, you will need the following tools:
- Coupling for springs.
- Steering tip puller.
- A wrench that allows you to unscrew the nuts of the racks.
- Jack.
You will also need the minimum skills of an auto mechanic and an assistant. Replacing the thrust bearing, the work is not easy, and if there is not enough skill or there is no one to help, it is better to contact a car service.
If everything is available, get down to business.
- First, remove the cap from the hub, then the CV joint nut.
- Now let the assistant squeeze the brake, and you tear off the CV joint nut.
- Next, you need to jack up the car and remove the wheel.
- Now remove the steering tip nut, and then use a puller to press out the pin.
- Next, remove the 2 mounting bolts and dismantle the ball joint.
- Then remove the brake hose.
- Then take a screwdriver and unlock the washer tabs and remove the caliper bolts, there should be 2 of them.
- Now unscrew the CV joint nut and carefully remove the rack.
- Now, to get to the support bearing, with the help of couplers we reduce the spring, when it is compressed, you can unscrew the support bearing.
- Put a new bearing in the vacated place and assemble the mechanism in the reverse order.
Here, the replacement of the support bearing on your VAZ 2110 has been completed. In the future, even once applying this description in practice, you will be able to repeat this procedure yourself and without prompting if the need arises. The process itself, by the way, takes no more than two hours for an experienced driver, after which it is necessary to adjust the camber of the car.
