Describe a picture of rain in an oak forest. In general order

"Rain in the Oak Forest" the artist wrote during his creative heyday in 1891.
It is, as always, in its genre: all the details and nuances are drawn with high clarity and precision.
All paintings, and this one is no exception, are filled with life and convey nature as it is.
Here, for example, is an oak forest washed by summer rain.
From the rain, puddles appeared on the forest road, and evaporation comes from the ground, forming a kind of haze.
Because of her, and because of the rain, the distance seems blurry and unclear, as it should be on a warm summer day.

For some, this rain is salvation, it gives freshness and a feeling of purity.
Someone will say this weather is only mud and dampness.
Well, to each his own.
So are the people depicted in the landscape.
In the foreground, a couple is shown sheltering from the rain under an umbrella.
The woman lifts the hem of her cloak so as not to stain it.
They walk slowly, enjoying the oak forest and the freshness of the rain.
Ahead of them is a man who puts his head in his shoulders and walks straight through the puddles with a quick gait.
This weather is unpleasant for him, he wants to be in a cozy warm house as soon as possible and take off his wet clothes.
On the same forest road there were such different people.

Oaks stand motionless, they revel in life-giving moisture and expose their beautiful carved leaves to the rain.
They stretch up to the sky, as if there, in the height, there is even more freshness and spaciousness.
How many people they have seen in their lives on this forest path that goes into the distance.
Just like oaks, grass and flowers rejoice in the rain and try to get enough of it.
Only thanks to the rain the grass turns green and pleases the eye, and the flowers bloom their fragrant buds.
Shishkin always uses a technique to enliven his paintings.
He draws objects in the foreground most clearly, and those that are further away are more blurry.
Thus, it creates the feeling that you yourself are among the oaks and look into the depths of the forest.

Ivan Ivanovich Shishkin (1832-1898) graduated from the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (MUZhVZ), the Academy of Arts, and also trained as a pensioner in Germany, impressing teachers with the ability to draw with a pencil and pen.

Not content with studies within the walls of the academy, Shishkin at that time diligently drew and painted sketches from nature in the vicinity of St. Petersburg, and on the island of Valaam, through which he acquired more and more familiarity with its forms and the ability to accurately convey it with a pencil and brush. Already in the first year of his stay at the academy, he was awarded two small silver medals for a cool drawing and for a view in the vicinity of St. Petersburg.

In 1858 he received a large silver medal for a view of Valaam, in 1859 a small gold medal for a landscape from the outskirts of St. Petersburg. and, finally, in 1860 - a large gold medal for two types of the Kukko area, on Valaam.
Acquiring, together with this last award, the right to travel abroad as a pensioner of the academy, he went to Munich in 1861, visited the workshops of famous artists there, among other workshops of Beno and Franz Adam, who were very popular, and then, in 1863 g., moved to Zurich, where, under the guidance of prof. Koller, who was then considered one of the best depictions of animals, copied and painted the latter from nature.

In Zurich, Shishkin tried for the first time to engrave with strong vodka. From here he made an excursion to Geneva in order to get acquainted with the works of Didet and Kalam, and then moved to Dusseldorf and painted there, commissioned by N. Bykov, "View in the vicinity of this city" - a picture that, being sent to St. Petersburg, delivered the artist the title of academician .
Longing for his homeland, Shishkin, in 1866, returned to St. Petersburg. before the end of their retirement. Since then, he often traveled for artistic purposes in Russia, exhibited his works almost annually, first at the academy, and then, after the Association of Traveling Exhibitions was established, he produced pen drawings at these exhibitions, and from 1870, joining the formed in St. Petersburg. a circle of aquafortists, he began again to engrave with strong vodka, which he did not leave until the end of his life, devoting almost as much time to it as to painting.

All these works every year increased his reputation as one of the best Russian landscape painters and an incomparable, in his own way, aquafortist. In 1873, the academy elevated him to the rank of professor for the masterful painting "Forest Wilderness" acquired by it.
The academician and professor affirmed in his landscapes the beauty of his native nature, understandable to most compatriots, and at the same time the talent of Russian painters: As far as we see here and in Berlin, our law is much better."

After the entry into force of the new charter of the academy, in 1892 Shishkin was invited to direct her educational landscape workshop, but, due to various circumstances, did not hold this position for long. He died suddenly, on March 8, 1898. Among the Russian landscape painters, Shishkin undoubtedly belongs to the place of the most powerful draftsman.

The painting "Rain in the Oak Forest" was painted by Ivan Ivanovich in 1891. Its size is 124x204 cm.
This picture is thought out by the artist to the smallest detail and is probably one of the most impeccable, stunning works of the author and resembles a high-quality photograph.

The canvas depicts an oak grove through which a path traveled by many people passes. There is a warm summer rain, and the air in the forest becomes fresh and cool. A man and a woman are slowly walking under an umbrella - a married couple, and a man is walking a little ahead, most likely this is the author of the picture, who, having felt raindrops on himself, opens the umbrella.

The accuracy, traditional for the artist’s landscapes, in detail in this picture reaches the highest level: the entire depth of the space of the grove is conveyed to the maximum with the help of the difference between the clear trees in front of us and the blurry ones in the background, which lose their color as they move deeper into the grove and merge with the silver-gray haze.

Summer rain, mushroom. We draw this conclusion due to the saturation of colors in the foliage of trees and grass. Looking closer, you can see how the sunbeam breaks through the rainy shroud and illuminates every pebble and blade of grass, is reflected by rays in puddles and creates golden halos on tree trunks in the distance, and near - small glare on every leaf it hits.

I embroidered this picture for my eldest son's birthday. The work turned out, of course, not as grandiose as Shishkin's canvas - 51x72 cm, but it took more than six months to complete the work.
