The sound signal of the VAZ 2115 does not work. Adjustment and replacement of a sound signal

Cars can be equipped with horns of types С-304 and С-305 (collapsible) or 20.3721-01 and 201.3721-01 (non-collapsible).

The horn is located in the engine compartment and is mounted on a bracket welded to the radiator frame panel.

You will need: a key "on 13", a screwdriver.

1. Disconnect a wire from the plug "-" of the storage battery.

2. Remove facings of a radiator (see "") and disconnect two wires from conclusions of a signal.

3. Turn away a nut of fastening of an arm of a signal to a body …

4. ... and remove the horn.

5. If necessary, unscrew the fastening nut and remove the bracket from the signal housing.

6. Strip the oxidized signal leads.

7. Vise the signal on the bracket and connect the wires to battery and to the outputs of the audio signal ("-" to the upper output of the signal, "+" to the lower).

8. Turn the adjusting screw in the appropriate direction to achieve a loud and clear signal. If this fails, replace the horn.

9. Install the horn and all removed parts in the reverse order of removal.

According to the Rules of the road, operate a car VAZ-2115 with a faulty sound signal is prohibited. This is due to road safety, since the driver in a dangerous situation cannot quickly warn other road users in any other way.

The electrical circuit and the device of the sound signal itself are not so complicated, therefore, if desired, the driver himself can fix the malfunctions that have occurred, leading to the absence of sound when the button is pressed. Troubleshooting, as always, begins with a check twenty amp fuse F5, located in the mounting block under the hood of a VAZ-2115 car. This fuse will either be intact or blown.

But, even if the fuse is intact, you still need to remove it and inspect the condition contacts for their oxidation. It is advisable to use a test lamp with the ignition on to check whether voltage is applied to its positive contact. If there is no voltage, then you will have to look for the circuit of the mounting block and check the voltage at the terminal through which power is supplied to this fuse. If the F5 fuse turns out to be blown, then you will have to look for a short circuit, due to which it failed.

The second device, due to which the signal may stop working, is relay K6. It is in the mounting block. To make sure that it is faulty, you need to remove the relay from the socket and, using a jumper, close contacts 30 and 87 in the socket of this relay. If the signals themselves are working, they should work, and the relay that has become unusable will have to be replaced.

The greatest impacts, under adverse operating conditions of the VAZ-2115 car, are the sound signals, as they are located behind the radiator lining. As a result, it is possible to oxidize both the contacts of the block through which voltage is supplied to the sound signals, and the sticking of the movable contact inside the sound signal itself.

It is extremely rare, but still possible, that the reason for the failure of the sound signal will be the button to turn it on, located on the steering wheel. This happens as a result of a slight displacement of the housing under the steering switches down the steering column, as a result of which the stroke of the horn button is not enough to close the movable contact.

Operation of a car with a faulty sound signal is prohibited. At the same time, on cars of the "tenth" family, the horn may stop working for no apparent reason. The potential "+12" is connected to one of the wires of the horn. And the second terminal should close to ground when the key is pressed. Let's consider why the signal on the VAZ-2112 does not work, and for this we will check the control points.

Sometimes it is possible to restore contact with the "mass" without removing the steering wheel. An example is shown in the video.

Features of the electrical circuit VAZ-2112

The owners of the car of the "tenth" family were lucky to some extent: but there is only a switch. The proof is given below.

The first step is to check fuse F7. In the mounting block, it is in the top row (seventh from the left).

Voltage "+12" is applied to one of the fuse terminals. Check it out!

If the fuse is good, the potential "+12" should be on one of the horn terminals. Let's take a look under the hood...

Disconnect the connector, check both terminals with a tester. We connect the second probe of the voltmeter to the “minus” of the battery.

The standard reason why the signal does not work on the VAZ-2112 is this: the “positive” voltage is connected, and the contact with the “ground” is broken. Most often, the problem lies in the switch.

We carry out diagnostics of the sound signal

It all starts with connector pins:

  1. Let's say the voltage "+12" is not called on both contacts. Then look for a short circuit or break point, starting from terminal 6-Sh5 (diagram above).
  2. If a "positive" voltage is received, check the second terminal. She will contact with the "mass" when you press the horn button. During this test, be sure to disconnect the battery.
  3. If the two previous steps are successfully completed, then the voltage is applied to the horn. It may need to be replaced or the contacts cleaned.

We remove the steering wheel

If "step 2" did not end in success, you need to remove the steering wheel. Two copper strips should "close" when pressed - everything is clear here. The check is carried out with an ohmmeter, and if necessary, replace the switch.

When the steering wheel is removed, you can clean the contact tracks. The wire contacts in the column must also be clean.

First you need to unscrew the two screws under the trim. Having removed the plastic, you can see the contact plate - perhaps the problem was in it.

Try cleaning the contacts and doing "step 2" again. If there is no result, we take the “24” key and unscrew one nut (not completely).

The steering wheel is knocked down in the direction "towards you". And then the nut can be unscrewed completely.

When installing, follow one rule. The protrusion on the bracket should go into the slot made in the plastic ring (see photo).

How to remove a faulty signal (horn)

A single module is fixed under the radiator grille. To remove it, unscrew one nut (key "13"). Disconnect plug first.


Dismantling, adjustment before installation

You will need to remove the grille. This action is difficult to perform both on the Ten and even on the VAZ-2112, and the signal may not work due to faulty wiring. First achieve what was said in "step 3". And only then, if necessary, proceed with the replacement.

One adjusting screw is fixed on the horn body. Set it to the middle position and check.
