Step-by-step instructions for creating a New Year's card

You need to create any New Year's card following a certain algorithm. The success of a creative endeavor largely depends on this.

Before you start, it is important to think over the idea and size of the postcard, decide on the necessary material, and select everything that is needed in the work from the whole variety of decorative elements and materials.

Now we follow the plan described below:

  1. Think over the plot of the postcard, what will be depicted on it and the size of the base. Most often this is A5 format, that is, an A4 sheet folded in half, but you can choose any other format at your discretion.
  2. Next you need to think about the color palette of the postcard. Color and combination of shades plays a huge role in the overall perception of the finished product. Below are options for combining shades and a special New Year's palette in the photo. If you don’t have a special flair and knowledge of color combinations, it’s better to use a palette.
  3. Next, we think about the composition and arrangement of parts. Special ready-made templates or sketches can help with this, but this will be discussed later in the article. For a successful composition, it is important to choose the center and the main, larger element. Next, think about where the small details will be located; you don’t need to fill the entire area of the postcard with them, let them create a beautiful shape. It is important to unite the entire composition on the postcard with a common color idea and compositional idea.
  4. When everything is thought out and the idea is clear, you need to prepare all the elements. Cut out and paint the parts. Choose beads, cabochons, ribbons, lace, snowflakes, flowers and so on.
  5. Now you need to make the background.
  6. After that we glue the main element.
  7. Next, we place all the small parts in their places.
  8. We decorate if necessary.

Templates and sets for postcards, individual materials for realizing your own ideas

To create cards, including New Year's cards, for 2018 with your own hands, you can use various templates and sketches. They help you decide on the composition and idea of the postcard. Below are photos of similar sketches. They can be printed on paper or used for visual purposes by creating your own card based on the template.

Postcards can contain different elements: a Christmas tree, balls, stripes, beautiful background design, snowflakes, glued half-beads, and so on. Of course, each template can be changed to suit your taste, but in general the templates are thought out in terms of composition and color.

The Christmas tree is the main decorative element. Various methods and materials for its image

On New Year's cards you can most often see an image of a Christmas tree. We can make it using various materials:

  • Buttons, rhinestones, half beads.
  • Ribbons and lace.
  • Paper or paper napkins.
  • Openwork small snowflakes.
  • Felt, old postcards or rolls of colored packaging paper.

Postcard templates:

The Christmas tree can be placed on the front side of the card or inside and open up beautifully.

Three options for creating a postcard with a Christmas tree

Option #1

For this stylish New Year's card with a Christmas tree you will need:

  • Beautiful cardboard and corrugated cardboard in a stylish metallic shade and stripes.
  • Colored paper to match the cardboard.
  • Decorative cord.
  • Adhesive rhinestones.
  • Scissors, glue, ruler and a simple pencil.

We make a card like this:

  1. On white paper we draw templates of all the details (as in the photo);
  2. Cut out the template and transfer it to cardboard and colored paper, cut it out;
  3. We carefully place all the parts in the right places and glue the decor;
  4. Place the rhinestones, attach a cord and the card is ready.

Option No. 2

This card is made from rolls of colored paper. The manufacturing technique is somewhat reminiscent of quilling. To work you will need:

  • Decorative cardboard with a pattern and white.
  • Colored paper with a print in a New Year's theme and color scheme.
  • Decorative buttons, rhinestones.
  • A smooth round pencil or wooden stick.
  • Glue, ruler and scissors.

Let's get creative:

  1. We cut out squares from colored printed paper of different sizes (as in the photo);
  2. We roll them into rolls and secure them with glue;
  3. We glue the rolls together into a triangle-shaped Christmas tree (see photo);
  4. We make a base out of white cardboard and glue a Christmas tree made of rolls to it;
  5. We decorate the Christmas tree with rhinestones and buttons.

The card is ready, all that remains is to make a congratulatory inscription inside.

Step by step photos

Option No. 3

This version of the 2018 New Year postcard is made on bright cardboard using corrugated paper. To work we need:

  • Decorative cardboard in a bright red shade for the base.
  • Green corrugated paper.
  • Double-sided tape and glue.
  • Decorative satin ribbon with New Year's print.
  • Beads and small beads or braid, star-shaped cabochon.

Let's start creating:

  1. Make a card base from cardboard by carefully folding it in half;
  2. Apply decorative tape to the top and bottom of the card;
  3. Mark the outline of the Christmas tree with a pencil and place double-sided tape (see photo);
  4. Cut strips of different sizes from corrugated paper and, squaring a little, stick them on top of the strips of double-sided tape. So we got a Christmas tree;
  5. We glue the beads, beads and star into place.

These are variants of New Year's cards with the main character - the Christmas tree. Next, we’ll look at how to make your own postcard with the symbol of the year – a dog.

The dog is the symbol of the year on a postcard

You can make a postcard with a picture of a dog - a symbol of the coming year. There can also be many variations here. Make a postcard in the shape of a dog's face from colored paper. Below are step-by-step photos of the manufacturing process.

In addition, you can make a postcard in the shape of a dachshund. For it you need:

  1. Colored thick paper in 4 shades: blue and white for the base, golden and brown for the dog. You also need some black paper for the eyes and nose.
  2. Glue, scissors and ruler.

We make a card like this:

  • Cut out a rectangle from blue paper. This is the basis. Fold it in half, then one front part in half again.
  • We cut out rectangles from white paper of such sizes that they overlap each part of the folded base, and glue them on top of the base.
  • cut out the dachshund. A long oval body so that it fits over the entire unfolded card. Cut out the paws, head, ears, tail, eyes. We duplicate each small detail from brown and gold paper.
  • Glue the body onto the entire postcard, followed by the paws and muzzle, and then all the small details.
  • This is how we got a dachshund, whose head is on the front bent half, and the end of the body is on the half of the postcard that is not bent. A closed card comes with a short dog, and an open card with a long dog.

You can paste a congratulatory inscription inside the card on a separate square or flag.

Simple cards with a good mood

Today, fashionable and stylish does not mean complicated. You can make an excellent DIY New Year's card 2018 in a couple of minutes, which will have style and a good mood.

Option #1

  1. Take bright cardboard and fold it in half.
  2. From white paper, cut out the outlines of Santa Claus's beard and mustache, glasses and a few stars.
  3. Glue the small details onto the front of the card.

Option No. 2

On white cardboard folded in half, draw a beautiful thin line with curls diagonally. This will be the base of the garland. Then, in some places marked on the garland, draw multi-colored circles - light bulbs.

Option No. 3

Postcard with a funny snowman - top view. To do this, you need to cut out several circles of different diameters and stick them on top of each other; you can line them with thick cardboard. Next, all that remains is to add small details and inscriptions.

Option No. 4

Use buttons. Here you can keep a postcard in minimalism, it will acquire a special style and charm. A couple of white buttons are enough to create a snowman, which we will complement with red braid - a scarf and black braid - a hat. Or several bright buttons that will depict Christmas balls. We will draw a string on it and make a beautiful inscription at the bottom.

Postcards in different techniques

Postcards for the New Year 2018, made with your own hands using the quilling or punching technique, are very interesting and beautiful. In order to create such a miracle with your own hands, you need to make a lot of effort, be careful and attentive. These are quite complex techniques that require extreme accuracy and concentration to achieve a good result.

Postcards using the quilling technique can depict a Christmas tree, a dog, or winter patterns. To perform them, you need strips of colored paper, which are rolled into rolls and given the desired shape. These rolls are then used to lay out intricate designs.

The vytytnanka technique involves cutting out scenes from several layers of paper and placing them on top of each other. These cards fascinate with their grace and beauty.

You can also use threads and thread printing or embroidery techniques to create a New Year's card with your own hands. To do this, the intended design is embroidered with a cross or satin stitch on a separate square of paper, or laid out using the thread printing technique. This square is then glued onto the postcard base.

A design for a postcard can also be made from felt, for example, cut-out deer, a snowman, mistletoe flowers or a Christmas tree, which are then attached to the base for the postcard.

If you are making a card with your child, then a wonderful New Year’s option would be to make a drawing on a 2018 New Year’s card with the baby’s handprint. To do this, you need to paint the child’s palm with white paint. The kid will be delighted with this activity! Immediately you need to print your palm onto the prepared colored base for a cardboard postcard.

If you print it with your fingers down, then you can finish drawing Santa Claus, your fingers will be a beard. And if you print your palm with your fingers up, then the palm itself will be a snowdrift, and we will finish drawing the fingers and turn them into snowmen and Christmas trees.

Did you like our New Year cards, which you can make with your own hands in 2018 using step-by-step photos?

Video:

For this we need:

  • Colored cardboard of different colors (the thinnest, it will be more convenient to bend and glue, and the ends of the folds will not be whitish)
  • Thick thick colored cardboard for the cover.
  • White paper (landscape sheet).
  • Sequins, sparkles and other “tinsel” for decoration.
  • Scissors, glue

We try to involve children, even small ones, to the maximum. Of course, at the age of three, a child will most likely not be able to fold a beautiful “accordion” or cut out a Christmas tree, but it’s easy to stick it on, sprinkle it on, and decorate it.

So, bend a sheet of thick blue cardboard in half and, if desired, glue an applique onto the front side. We also decorate the inside with snowflakes (you can use your finger to apply white paint or toothpaste to a snowball, sky, snowdrifts, etc.). Pre-cut to width to the depth of the postcard, we fold a white A4 sheet along the long side into an accordion (ideally, it’s better to take an even longer sheet, then the postcard will open wider, or make the folds very shallow, which is also not good - the effect of “snowdrifts” is lost). We coat the ends of the accordion with PVA and glue it to the base of the card. We close our card and squeeze its sides for a few seconds. All. All that remains is to glue pre-cut Christmas trees, houses, bunnies, etc. onto the “drifts”.

This photo shows how best to hold the accordion before gluing it on. After each accordion, close the card and squeeze it for a few seconds. Please note that thin uncoated cardboard is grabbed by PVA almost instantly, and when you try to remake or move the accordion, some of its ends may “remain” on the substrate.

You can make such a lush beauty from thin green cardboard.

The principle is the same - we make several accordions out of thin green cardboard,” but there is a nuance: we cut an A4 sheet along the length into strips of different widths and the width (depth) of the fold for each strip is also different: in the diagram I tried to show how approximately The part of the sheet I have drawn looks like.

As a result, we begin to bend the widest strip, making it the deepest folds - this will be the base of the tree. If you take a closer look at our Christmas tree, you will notice that the tiers of the tree are most advanced at the bottom, while the accordion at the bottom is folded with a large “step”. Further, moving towards the top of the tree, the depth of the tier and the depth of the bend decreases. We decorate the top of the tree with a star, gluing it tightly to the backing. The Christmas tree can be “dressed up” with sparkles and sequins

Cute three-dimensional New Year cards

In order to make such a card, you need to make triangular blanks from colored or decorative paper, and then glue the edges together sequentially. Decorate the card with a bow and write congratulations!

Volumetric Christmas tree

In order to make such a card, you will need to print two layouts on thick paper and arm yourself with scissors. Layout one, two (files in Word). It is better if your sheets are of different colors. Next we follow the photo instructions:

We decorate the resulting Christmas tree with sparkles, painted or glued toys, you can draw snowdrifts and a snowman, or gifts nearby, and we get, for example, this cute creation:

Origami Christmas tree

Even a small child can make such a postcard with his mother’s help. It is better to take paper with a beautiful background (for example, for scrapbooking). If the child wants to do it himself, take thinner paper, since it will be difficult for him to bend a thick sheet properly.

We decorate with ribbons, buttons and in the end we get these cute cards:

There is another way to make absolutely stunning cards, the manufacturing technology of which can be used not only for New Year’s holidays, but also for any others: March 8, February 23, birthdays.

These cards will occupy the recipient's attention for a long time and will cause a lot of delight. What do you need:

  • Transparent plastic lid (from food packaging), you can use lids from sour cream or yogurt.
  • Cardboard or thick paper for the base of the card
  • Filling material: beads, seed beads, pictures, buttons, etc.

We fold the base of the card into a booklet; it should be at least 3 centimeters wider than our lid. We cut off the side of the lid with scissors, which is used for closing, leaving only the area for gluing (see photo).

In the front part of the card we cut out a round window with a diameter 2 mm larger than the diameter of the lid window. This can be done perfectly smoothly using a compass knife or just nail scissors.

Using a thin pencil, mark a place on the back half that will be visible through the window. Glue the lid to the hole in the front of the card.

On the second side we make our picture, and then glue both halves. Can be decorated with braid and sparkles.

And here Santa Claus and the Snowman are hurrying through the snowy snowdrifts))). The snowdrifts and cloud are cut out of felt, the characters are made from buttons and felt, the tree is a real twig, which is slightly pasted over with pieces of padding polyester, snowflakes are drawn with a helium pen. Something like this picture can be “hidden” inside a plastic lid.

New Year's card "Santa Claus and reindeer" using quilling technique

For New Year 2020, you can make a three-dimensional postcard “Santa Claus and Reindeer” using the quilling technique. If you are not an expert in this field, then this is not a problem. After all, even your child can easily figure it out and create a wonderful New Year’s product with his own hands in a couple of hours. To do this, it is recommended to purchase a ready-made quilling kit at a stationery store or take colored paper and cut it into thin long strips. After which you should start your creativity.

To work you will need:

  • colored cardboard;
  • paper strips for quilling;
  • PVA glue;
  • toothpicks;
  • pencil;
  • ruler;
  • scissors.

Manufacturing process:

  1. To make a postcard, you should take colored cardboard and bend it in half.
  2. Once we have the base, we need to start decorating it with the help of small paper parts, which are made by twisting a thin strip of colored paper onto a pencil or toothpick. The result is multilayer rings, the diameter of which must be adjusted using the length of paper pieces.
  3. To prevent the resulting curl from unwinding, its edge should be secured with PVA glue. But the product should not be tightened tightly; it should look airy.
  4. Now we take our base - cardboard folded in half, and, if desired, sketch out the future drawing with a simple pencil. This will make your work easier and you will be able to put the entire paper composition together without any problems.
  5. Having prepared all the details of Santa Claus, the deer and the gift, we attach them to our sketch using PVA glue, alternating colors in such an order that it looks like in the photo.
  6. The eyes and antlers of the deer must be cut out of white and black paper, since these are small parts of the design and will be difficult to make using quilling. Although, if you try, everything is possible.
  7. You can create the general background of the postcard using your imagination. To do this, it is advisable to use glitter, PVA glue (it makes original snowflakes, complemented with sparkles or rhinestones), acrylic paint or gouache.
  8. When the drying process is completed, complement your craft with pleasant congratulations. Ready!

New Year's card "Christmas tree" using origami technique

A postcard made with your own hands using the origami technique will be quite expressive and catchy. You can give such a cute craft for New Year 2020 to your parents or grandparents. And don't think that you will need any specific skills to do this job. Not at all, I want to assure you. Our advice with step-by-step instructions will be enough for you, which will take you to the finish line.

To work you will need:

  • colored paper and cardboard;
  • PVA glue;
  • decorative decorations at your discretion.

Manufacturing process:

  1. We take colored cardboard and fold it in half to form the base of our postcard. We select a harmonious combination of paper for making a Christmas tree with which we will decorate our product. For this purpose, it is allowed to use not only colored paper, but also gift wrapping. It will look even brighter and better, which will significantly transform our craft.
  2. We cut the available material we have selected for decorative finishing of the product into small squares of different sizes. This is necessary in order to fold the Christmas tree into a cone shape.
  3. Let's start creating individual parts of our tree. To do this, you need to take the squares we cut out and first fold them in half so that you get a triangle. Then we fold the geometric figure we have formed in half again. A triangle came out again, but a little smaller in size. Then we bend the edges of this part on both sides, attracting them to each other and connecting them in the center. Here we have a part of our Christmas tree. At least three to four such paper elements should be prepared.
  4. Let's start decorating our New Year's card with our own hands. We take all the paper parts we have made and, one by one, from bottom to top (from largest to smallest - the top) we attach them to our cardboard base using PVA glue.
  5. After which it’s worth spending a little more time decorating our product. At this stage, you can use whatever you want. These are, first of all, beautiful threads, colorful ropes, satin ribbons, which make wonderful Christmas tree decorations in the form of bows, flowers, balls, etc. Decoration made from beads and half-beads, beads, shiny pebbles - stickers, multi-colored glitter, acrylic paint, rain will look very impressive. As an option, it is worth considering a decoration made using broken glass from damaged Christmas decorations. We collect different fragments and crush them in an iron container with a wooden masher into small colored crumbs. Don’t worry too much, it’s not dangerous and doesn’t hurt at all when treated like this. So, using such a blank is very simple. You should draw the desired image on the chosen greeting product, decorate it, coat it well with glue, and then sprinkle it with our shiny “powder”. For the New Year 2020, with the lively flickering of mechanical garlands, such an interesting handmade craft will fascinate all your guests with its playful sparkle.

Manufacturing process:

  1. We create the basis of our future postcard from colored cardboard. To do this, fold the sheet in half and run your finger along the folded area, clearly highlighting the center of the product.
  2. Now let's start making the Christmas tree. First, we cut out the trunk of a coniferous tree from brown colored paper, and then glue it onto our colored blank.
  3. In order to form the crown of the Christmas tree, you need to make thin multi-colored strips from gift wrapping with your own hands. Their length must necessarily vary.

Holiday card “Snow Maiden” using cutting technique

This type of decorative and applied art is very popular with children of preschool and school age. By making such New Year's crafts, children get to know the world around them, all its beauties and aesthetic directions. In addition, this type of activity has a rather positive effect on their inner world. They become kinder, calmer, more diligent, and more sociable, because such a process is still a collective matter, since it will not be easy for one child to cope with his task at the initial stage. Therefore, parents, older brothers and sisters, or best friends come to the rescue. Having been patient and purchased multi-colored napkins, you need to start making your own postcards for the New Year 2020. But do not forget that your mood should be high, since the quality of the work you do depends on it.

  • colored napkins or corrugated paper;
  • colored cardboard;
  • PVA glue;
  • scissors;
  • ruler;
  • simple pencil and colored pencils;
  • markers;
  • ballpoint pen refill.

Progress:

  1. Take our colorful napkins or corrugated paper and cut it into squares measuring 1 x 1 cm.
  2. The next thing we need to do is draw an image of the Snow Maiden on a sheet of colored cardboard. If you are not particularly proficient in fine art techniques, then carbon paper will come to your aid.
  3. In order for the Snow Maiden’s face to be shaded from the general background, it should also be transferred to white paper and subsequently cut out with scissors. Using PVA glue, attach the cut out image of the fairy-tale heroine to the face drawn earlier on colored cardboard. Make the eyes, eyebrows, nose, mouth and cheeks expressive using felt-tip pens or pencils.
  4. Now we proceed to the actual trimming. For this work we need a pen core, PVA glue and squares cut from colored napkins or corrugated paper. Let's start with the Snow Maiden's hat. We apply a small amount of glue to the heroine's headdress, and then take a paper square and press it tightly to the tapered end of the handle, twist it slightly so that the napkin wraps a little around the rod. Next, we attach our blank to the cap shown in the picture, press it a little so that it is properly secured, and immediately remove the handle. In this way we must process the entire headdress of the Snow Maiden. But the manufactured parts must be fastened close to each other to achieve the terry effect.
  5. Having completed the design of the cap and its frill itself, we move on to the clothes. We decorate all the details in the picture with the multi-colored napkins you have chosen, without missing a single element. It is very important. Your New Year 2020 card should look rich, lively and colorful.
  6. To complete our creativity, the general background of the craft can be supplemented with snowflakes, also performed using the technique of cutting from white napkin squares.
  7. You have the right to decorate the finished work as you please. For this purpose, shiny glitter or some pearlescent sparkles are well suited, which can perfectly express snow flickering in the light of garlands, the Snow Maiden’s coat, or some individual patterns depicted on all clothes.

That's all, in general! If you really want, you can make other types of postcards with your own hands, made using the cutting technique. To do this, look through our photo ideas.

New Year card using scrapbooking technique

In order to distinguish yourself at the New Year's holiday, it is very important to pay great attention to gifts made with your own hands and intended for your family or friends. But, as mentioned above, a present is unthinkable without a cool card. You can make it for the New Year 2020 using a very simple scrapbooking technique. Even your children can easily cope with such work. They can make chic, fun crafts for kindergarten or school as a gift for a teacher, educator, or for the annual exhibition of New Year's works.

For production you will need:

  • white paper or colored cardboard;
  • PVA glue;
  • ruler;
  • fountain pen or pencil;
  • scrapbooking paper;
  • decorative elements: sparkles, ribbons, bows, sequins, pebbles - stickers.

Manufacturing process:

  1. We bend a landscape sheet or colored cardboard in half to make the base of our postcard.
  2. Now we take scrapbooking paper and cut out pieces of different sizes from it that will make up our future Christmas tree. Using a pencil, we twist them into peculiar tubes and secure the edges with PVA glue so that they do not unwind. Let it dry for a while.
  3. We glue the finished paper tubes together and then attach them to our cardboard base using glue.
  4. Now all that remains is to decorate our product with your own hands so that it looks great for the New Year 2020. Use pebbles - stickers, rhinestones, sparkles - as decorative decorations. Attach a red satin bow to the top of the head.

Step-by-step photo instructions for making a Christmas tree using scrapbooking technique

We are used to giving cards for every memorable occasion, be it an official (Easter, Christmas, New Year) or unofficial (Wedding Day, birth of a child, anniversary) celebration. People are pleased to receive such sweet signs of attention, because they speak of respect and sincere feelings of the giver.

But, as you know, the things that bring the most joy are those made with one’s own hands. It is not at all necessary to have special skills to make DIY New Year's card. The main thing is to show persistence and a little imagination.

We invite you to give your loved ones a piece of warmth during the New Year holidays. Pay attention to the selection of interesting and original ideas, and perhaps you will take note of some of them.

Postcards with Christmas trees

The main attribute of the New Year, as you know, is the Christmas tree. It can be a lush, graceful forest beauty or a small tree decorated with bright toys. It doesn’t matter at all what kind of tree you choose for the holiday - the main thing is that it is there.

It just so happens, but Christmas trees on postcards are especially popular. Let's figure out how to make such beauty with your own hands.

Christmas tree made of corrugated paper

This card will be voluminous, so if you want to write a message to a loved one inside, we advise you to do this in advance.

To make this card you will need:

  • Thick A4 paper or colored cardboard, preferably red or orange;
  • A few centimeters of corrugated green paper;
  • Scissors;
  • Glue or double-sided tape;
  • Decorations (sequins, rhinestones, beads);
  • Pencil.

Step 1. First of all, you need to make a rough sketch of our Christmas tree. To start, take some cardboard and fold it in half. This is the standard size of postcards, which allows them to be made almost the same as in the store. On one of the halves you should draw the silhouette of a Christmas tree with thin, barely noticeable lines.

Step 2. Take corrugated paper and cut it into strips one and a half centimeters high. The length of the stripes depends on how much volume you want to give to the New Year's tree. Don't forget that they should all be of different lengths to follow the outline of the tree, so try to make the strips have different lengths: from the longest to the shortest.

Step 3. After that, start gluing the strips into place. It is best to start from the bottom, gradually securing each layer. You should be guided by the markings made in pencil and glue the strips, gathering them a little, as shown in the photo. If you do everything correctly, the Christmas tree will look very realistic in appearance.

Step 4. Having finished the main work, decorate your beauty. Any decorations you find can be used. It’s great if you have a small star in stock - you can attach it to the top. Small beads can be used to make a garland, and rhinestones can be used to make sparkling lights. Come up with kind words of wishes addressed to the recipient in advance, and then the craft will bring even more joy.

Christmas tree in scrapbooking style

This option also involves writing or printing your wishes in advance. Think about the words that you would like to say to a loved one, design them in an original way and paste them into the middle of the card.

To make a postcard in scrapbooking style you will need:

  • Thick colored cardboard (you can take it with an ornament);
  • Stationery scissors;
  • Double-sided tape or PVA glue;
  • Various items for decoration;
  • Scrap paper;
  • Objects that would look like a pencil or a small diameter tube.

Step 1. The scrapbooking technique is actually quite easy and even a child can do it. First, you must decide on the size of the future tree. The most successful option would be a tree located across the entire size of our postcard. Once you decide on the size, take your scrapbooking paper and cut it into small rectangles of varying widths.

Step 2. Now you should roll the paper into a cylinder. To make it without dents, use a straw or a pencil. Roll the paper in the width direction, periodically coating the inside with glue to prevent the cylinders from unfolding. After twisting a sufficient number of paper tubes, glue them to each other, assembling the structure of a Christmas tree or triangle.

Step 3. While our craft is drying, we should work on the base. Fold the cardboard in half, glue the wishes inside, and sign below. After the tube tree has dried, it needs to be glued to the outside of the cardboard. Carefully coat the surface with glue and attach the craft. Let dry.

Step 4. The next step is decoration. Any interesting thing can turn out to be: bright buttons, ribbons, rivets, rhinestones, beads, etc. It is advisable to glue each decorative element with a glue gun - this will allow them to last longer.

Postcards with Santa Claus

The theme of Christmas cards doesn't stop at Christmas trees. You can create anything, the main thing is that your crafts have something to do with the New Year. A great addition to a gift would be a postcard with a picture of Father Frost or Santa Claus.

Postcard “Santa Claus”

To make a postcard “Santa Claus” You will need:

  • Scissors;
  • Glue;
  • Colour pencils;
  • Colored cardboard and paper;
  • Elements for decor.

Step 1. For this craft, you need to find the good-natured face of Santa Claus, print and cut it out. People who know how to draw beautifully will create the face of Santa Claus themselves. Paint some parts of the face (cheeks, eyes, hat).

Step 2. Fold the cardboard in half and glue Grandpa's face to the outside of one half. The edges of the card can be decorated with all sorts of decorative details (circles of paper, small snowflakes, sparkles). Be sure to leave your wishes inside to surprise and touch the recipient.

“Jolly Santa”

This one looks just like Santa Claus, so it's sure to make the recipient smile. In such a card you can put not only wishes, but also a small present, because it will be made in the form of a pocket. Stock up on all the necessary materials and feel free to get to work.

To make a “Jolly Santa” postcard You will need:

  • Scissors;
  • A sheet of thick paper in several colors (black, red, white);
  • Glue;
  • Shiny self-adhesive paper.

Step 1. Take thick red paper and fold its edges to form a pocket on one side. How to do this can be seen in the photo.

Step 2. Glue the edges of the pocket with glue.

Step 3. Attach a black strip along it, as shown in the picture, and use self-adhesive to make a silver square. All that remains is to attach the white curly stripes and the card is ready.

Inside this craft you can put a small souvenir or an envelope with money. It turns out to be a cute and practical card.

And finally, I would like to show how you can make an interesting and unusual New Year’s card in just a few minutes.

To make an unusual postcardYou will need:

  • Cardboard;
  • Colored paper;
  • Thin felt (blue and white);
  • Beads for decoration;
  • Bright ribbon;
  • Scissors;
  • PVA glue and glue gun.

Step 1. Fold a piece of cardboard in half however you like. Glue blue felt to the front side, then make a circle of small diameter in the right corner. You can glue multi-colored paper inside to make the card look more festive.

Step 2.“Plant” beads along the edges of the round hole using a glue gun (seen in the photo), and then cut out a small Christmas tree from white felt, which will also need to be glued to the card with beads.

Step 3. Now make a strip of fabric from the remaining white felt - write or embroider the inscription “Happy New Year” on it. And glue it to the front side. Decorate with beads.

Step 4. The final touch is a ribbon with a small bow. Attach it from the “ball” up so that it looks like a New Year’s toy. The postcard is ready!
