Who are cold demons? Quileute legends - ancient tales of the origins of werewolves and vampires

As Quileute legends say, they were descended from wolves, which eventually became men. The name of the Quileute tribe comes from the word "Kwoli", which means "wolf". These are those who have been American aborigines for many centuries. The Quileutes had vast fertile lands, which they religiously defended from enemy attacks.

Quileute legends contained hidden knowledge that was forgotten by the rest of the living. But one day the Maka tribe appeared from the southern side...

South - Fire element, creative, spatial Fire. The element is creative for a person who has lost the ability to create heat outside or inside himself. However, this power can also turn against him if used incorrectly. Once out of control, the Fire element becomes an all-consuming Fire that can destroy everything around. Then the Quileutes, in order to defeat this strong and numerous tribe, again turned to the ancient knowledge of spirit warriors (the spirit leaves the lifeless body and connects with nature to take control and control animals and the elements).

Only then were they able to defeat Mak, but since Fire is also knowledge that gives great power, they were tempted to control everything around them, which naturally caused civil strife and disagreements in the tribe.

There were also Quileutes who wanted more land and stopped obeying tribal law. One of the rebels killed himself by the hand of the leader and thereby infused his spirit into his body. Since then, the Quileutes have embarked on a path of brutal conquest. However, the spirit of the leader still wandered around the world and, in order to return, he used the shell of a wolf. This is how werewolves were born. Wolves do not attack the very appearance of a person, but the nature of a vampire, which is in a person and is trying to suck out all the blood in order to completely take control and limitless power over the world.

Quileute legends say that the wolf tries to tear away his bloodthirsty negative essence from a person. However, as a result, it devours everything.

Quileute Vampire Legends

There were many legends about strange creatures that inhabited the Earth from time immemorial. Let us dwell on one of them, which is told in the Quileute legends. The Cold Demon or Demon of the Night is a dazzlingly beautiful creature with marble skin and blood-colored eyes.

But if he suddenly stops feeding on human blood, his eyes dim and lose their brightness of color. Therefore, he vitally needs human blood. He was nicknamed the “Cold Demon” because of his body temperature, which was half the normal level.

His beautiful body and graceful movements, and especially his smell, attracted people and fascinated him. However, no matter how perfect the appearance of the Demon was, people experienced a trembling fear of him, as if sensing a mortal danger hidden within the external gloss.

Ancient Quileute legends say that there is no escape from this beast except by flight. Therefore, travelers had to return home before dark, so as not to catch the eye of a bloodthirsty predator.

The Demon of the Night or the Cold Demon is found in the legends of the North American Indian tribe - the Quileutes. This is a dazzlingly beautiful creature with cold and smooth skin, pale to the touch, like marble, and dark red eyes.

It was because of his body temperature that he received his name as “Cold Demon”. And the color of his eyes remains bloody as long as he feeds on human blood. But, as soon as he leaves only the blood of animals in his diet for a long time, their eyes immediately acquire a golden-honey hue.

The beauty of their body and the grace of their movements, and especially the smell, attract a person and fascinate him. But despite this incredible perfection, these demons inspire trembling fear in a person. A person unconsciously understands that behind all this external gloss and attractiveness, a mortal danger lurks within him. Therefore, each person tries to be at a relatively safe distance from these predators.

Apotamkin has incredible endurance and physical strength. This Demon's vision, smell and hearing are very acute, and his heart does not beat at all. To maintain his life, Apotamkin must feed on blood. There is a belief that before drinking the blood of his victim, he holds it. This is probably necessary for minimal purification of the blood, compared to what it was like while the victim was in the company of his own kind.

When the Demon of the Night is very hungry, he relies only on his own hunter's instinct. At this moment, there is a very great predominance of the animal creature in him than the human one. It is with his uncontrollable and unbearable thirst for blood that Apotamkin pays for his eternal life, physical strength and beauty of body.

For many reasons, the Cold Demon is considered one of the most dangerous predators of the night. In addition to his enormous physical strength, he has the unique ability to move silently at fast speeds. The only way to kill the vampire Apotamkin is to burn and dismember all pieces of his body. The rest of the mythical methods, such as: a crucifix, garlic, an aspen stake, holy water, will not cause him any harm. He is of course afraid of the sun, but not because it can cause harm, but rather because his inhuman essence is visible in the sun.

One of the oldest legends of the Quileute Indians says that the only way to protect yourself from the Cold Demon is to simply avoid meeting it. Therefore, you need to return home before dark, so as not to end up near the forest in the evening.

Stephenie Meyer's Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn series and the saga based on these books caused an unprecedented surge of curiosity about everything that was even slightly mentioned in these works. For example, vampires, werewolves, the small American town of Forks and the town of La Push, and also, of course, Quileute legends and the Quileute Indians themselves. But is there even a little truth in the Quileute legends? Cold Demon - does he really exist? Let's try to figure it out.

North American Quileute Indian Tribe actually exists, they really live on the La Push reservation, and the legends of the tribe say that it came from wolves who could become people. And this legend is supported by the name itself - “Quiletes”, which translated means “wolf”. The La Push tribe still considers them their brothers, and it is a crime to kill even one wolf. People are wolves individual by nature. They solve all their problems on their own, but can gather into a large community (spontaneous flocks) to solve great problems. These people live by their own interests; they make their decision on any issue only after they have checked everything in their own skin. The Wolf Man is essentially a social orderly; he has a sense of justice and strict order. As a rule, Wolf People live by their own, and not someone else’s, mind, they do not take advice from outside, but with all this, they have a “wolfish greed” for knowledge. They strive to explore and inhabit the entire nearby territory, which they will subsequently defend without sparing their own lives. Their only vulnerable spot is “problems of the heart” (love), but the sense of duty and justice is above all for them.

The real legends of this tribe, of course, differ from those shown in the film. For example, the legend about the very origin of this tribe from their patron Kvottia.

A long time ago, when the earth was just emerging, there lived Kuotti, not a man, but not a god either, but one of the primary creatures, which itself contributed to the emergence of other creatures. Kuotti was a glorious hunter, a wonderful singer and a powerful wizard. He had an interesting supernatural ability: he could transform everything he came across. For example, he could turn a person into a stone or a twig into a bird. He became the progenitor of many tribes, and they say that he was generous to all living things. His teachings that people should be kind to each other, take care of nature, treat everything with love, have passed through millennia, and are revered by modern Indians. Quileute legends describe that one day, Kuotti was hunting in what is now the La Push Reservation and discovered that there were no people there. Then he headed to the mouth of the river there, where a large pack of forest wolves lived. And he turned one wolf pack into people, from whom the Quileute tribe came. And since then he has always patronized this tribe. Yes, Kuotti was not a god, but his mission on Earth was to help all living beings in those distant times when it was believed that everyone had a soul: a person, a tree, and the sun.

They have a bird Tiss-ti-Lal, causing thunder with her huge wings. Good-natured, but cunning and quick-witted Bayak, who can also be rude, two-faced, greedy and lazy. There is also a legend about terrifying characters, for example, the legend of Apotamkin, or the story of Daskia.

They say that There lived in this world a woman - a monster named Daskia. She became notorious because she was involved in stealing children, whom she dragged to the Yakilis Creek, which flows into the river that flows near the Quileute settlement. Daskia placed the children in a huge box and then took them to a secret lair from which they could not escape. The giantess made a large fire, where she placed huge stones to fry the stolen children on. And the children, meanwhile, were unaware of their terrible fate, since Daskia covered their eyes with viscous resin, and they could not see anything. While the little captives stood with stained eyes, suspecting a terrible outcome, Daskia danced and jumped around the fire, anticipating a glorious dinner.

One day, having caught another prey, Daskia danced and had fun near the fire, waiting until the stones became red-hot. The children's eyes were tightly covered with resin. But one girl, who was a little older than the other children, showed unprecedented resourcefulness: she began to heat her hands over the fire and melt the resin. And when she succeeded, the brave child pushed the monster straight into the fire. Then the girl helped the other children melt the resin, and they returned home safe and sound.

We must pay tribute to the skill of Stephenie Meyer: her invented stories look more than reliable, and if you do not delve deeply into the essence, then you can quite believe that they are quite true. And yet we should not forget that legends, whatever they may be - true or not - are just legends. And they are very far from reality.

Does the Cold Demon Apotamkin exist?

The fictional hero demon Apotamkin is a real, but strange and mysterious vampire. Just recently no one knew him. Unlike traditional werewolves, who have been the heroes of ancient legends and folk tales for many centuries in a row, the demon is not mentioned in scientific works. He owes his appearance to Stephenie Meyer. She is the author of the novel Twilight. This already sensational and filmed work was written for a youth audience. Although Apotamkin is a literary hero, many believe that he lives his life somewhere close to people.

Description of the Cold Demon Apotamkin

Stephanie called Apotamkin a vampire, but that's all he has in common with a werewolf. The author admitted. She knows absolutely no details about the life of vampires. The modern hero is created entirely from her imagination.

The demon is an ancient creature known to people. It is mentioned in hieroglyphs and legends of Egypt. He has superpowers and, like a vampire, is not afraid of garlic, wasp stakes, cold sacred water, eats human food and can lead a similar lifestyle.

Demons are characterized by unprecedented beauty. He attracts people with his beautiful appearance and extraordinary look. The demon is not a person, and the power he possesses cannot be overcome by any predator living on earth. His hearing catches the slightest vibrations in the air, and his movements are inaudible and completely silent. This makes him practically invulnerable.

The young demon is emotional. He has a special shade of eyes that become richer as his emotions intensify: from bright red to bloody. Living a demon for some time without blood causes its eyes to acquire the usual color characteristic of people. But as soon as he tastes blood again, his eyes take on a dark red hue. Their black color speaks of an uncontrollable vampire thirst.
