You are always with us, beautiful soul! Evening in memory of Elena Sharaeva Northern type of Russian beauty.

For For the emergence of true art, says L. Tolstoy, it is necessary to combine very many conditions, and all these conditions are combined, giving an outstanding result, extremely rarely. Soil, environment, tradition, talent, diligence - fate did not deprive Elena Sharaeva of all this. Whoever heard her singing at least once fell under the spell of a charming voice. But the voice is also the same brilliant creation, like a sublime poem, like an undying canvas or music.

At home, in Galbay, our houses were next door, Lena and I played together, exchanging new toys. After six years, when my mother moved to a new job in Tagarkhay, our paths diverged for a long time. I heard talk that Lena sings well, studies at the Ulan-Ude Music College. And we met when she studied at the Leningrad Conservatory. N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov. Then, out of my journalistic habit, I tried to understand where a village girl had such a high talent. I learned that her mother Rinchin Dorzheevna had a beautiful strong voice of amazing timbre and wide range. Our great countryman Tsyren Khoborkov, People's Artist of Buryatia, offered her to study vocals and get a musical education. But life decreed otherwise: Rinchin Dorzheevna married a war veteran Gombo Sydypovich Sharaev and devoted her life to raising seven children. And her voice was inherited by her daughter.
Elena was lucky with mentors. She recalled with special gratitude her first vocal teacher, Honored Artist of Russia Claudia Gomboeva-Yazykova. She was a wonderful singer and an amazing woman who revealed the rare talent of her pupil, managed to open her soul to the beauty of the harmony of sounds.

In Leningrad, Elena got into the class of Professor I.P. Levando, Honored Art Worker of Russia. Iraida Pavlovna brought up a whole galaxy of opera stars. When the selection committee decided by a majority vote that Elena had a mezzo-soprano, Iraida Pavlovna objected: "No, I will lead her as a dramatic soprano." So the talented teacher did not break the voice of the future diva of the Buryat opera, but carefully continued the work begun by her first mentor. Another important condition pointed out by Tolstoy was combined - these talented teachers followed the best traditions of Russian classical opera art.

In 1989, Elena Sharaeva was accepted into the troupe of soloists of the Buryat State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre, where she began to entrust the leading parts of the classical opera repertoire. Good knowledge of the Buryat language helped her masterfully perform the role of Agha Shavdal in the national opera "Dzhangar" by K. Chonkushev in the Kalmyk language. In 1990, during a tour of our opera house in Stavropol and Elista, Kalmyks admiring her singing were ready to carry the young singer in their arms. At the First International Competition for Young Vocalists in Perm in 1993, Elena was awarded a special prize. Olga Borodina. In the same year, she successfully performed at the festival of opera singers in Tokyo and the famous Irina Arkhipova invited Elena Sharaeva and Tatyana Shoydagbaeva to her master class. So our young talented singers came to her to study at the Bolshoi Theater. Incredible luck!

But in addition to luck and talent, timely support, she needed such personal qualities as stamina and endurance, great diligence in order to create vivid memorable images on stage. Nedda in Leoncavallo's Pagliacci, Leonora in Verdi's Il trovatore, Marguerite in Gounod's Faust, Yaroslavna in Borodin's Prince Igor, Lisa in The Queen of Spades and Tatiana in Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin, Tosca from the opera of the same name Puccini, Zemfira from Rachmaninov's Aleko, Volkhova from Rimsky-Korsakov's Sadko, Saffy from The Gypsy Baron and Rosalind from Strauss' Die Fledermaus, Silva from Kalman's operetta of the same name, Urmai Goohon from Andreev's opera Geser - this is the gallery images created by her on the stage of the Buryat Opera House. In addition to these diverse roles, her luggage included chamber lyrics, romances and songs by Buryat composers.
On the creative path of the singer, there was a meeting with Darima Linkhovoin, a musician from God and a teacher by vocation. People's Artist of Russia, Artistic Director of the theater Darima Lkhasaranovna Linkhovoin helped young singers to comprehend complex musical material, enter into the images of opera heroes, and prepared them to participate in professional competitions. Together with her, Elena Sharaeva gave concerts on the stages of many countries of the world: Austria, Holland, USA, France, South Korea, Japan.

In 1995, an unforgettable event took place in her life. Of the 130 singers declared for participation in the XVI International Vocal Competition named after. Glinka, Elena Sharaeva among 15 was admitted to the final round. Having become a laureate of the competition, at the invitation of the chairman of the jury I.K. Arkhipova, our countrywoman sang in a gala concert on the stage of the Bolshoi Theater.

The next 1996 brought Elena new success - a brilliant performance at the Belvedere competition in Vienna, the heart of musical Europe. Then she received an offer from the impresario of the Vienna Theater to participate in the production of Puccini's opera Tosca. But this was not destined to come true.

I remember our conversation on the eve of her benefit performance, which took place on April 29, 2004. We talked about her latest work. Lena told how she works on the image: she imagines the place and time of the action, the customs and mores of the era, the character, the state of mind of the heroine. She then said: "I try every image for a voice." I imagined what a huge work it was - to sculpt an image with a voice, putting a particle of my soul into it.

Then she admitted that the image of Lisa from Tchaikovsky's The Queen of Spades is very dear to her, that she is kind to the music of Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninov. This is understandable, because Elena Sharaeva is a graduate of the Leningrad Conservatory. N. Rimsky-Korsakov, famous for its traditions, the school of Russian classical opera singing. Therefore, in her repertoire, a special place was given to the chamber works of these composers. Romances based on poems by Pushkin, Lermontov, Tyutchev and other poets are the Russian musical gospel, without which it is impossible to imagine Russia, to feel its spirituality. But Russia has been saved and will be saved, it will always be, as long as it has spirituality.

This is how she remained in my memory - a tireless worker, very demanding of herself, full of creative ideas. The singer generously shared her gift, conquered new heights, while remaining at the same time a surprisingly modest person. Like all the numerous admirers of her talent, we were confident in her future creative victories, we were looking forward to her new works. And she dreamed of singing at La Scala...
She always felt an alluring mystery - soul, talent, all her beautiful appearance. When she walked through the streets, it seemed that she carried her beauty like a torch, the light of which is reflected on faces and souls with a kind, cleansing light. In her every movement, in every turn of her head, a spirit full of beauty and love was felt. It was also a mystery...

Trouble always comes unexpectedly, plunging into despair. But the prayer of the people cannot turn away the will of the Most High, just as it is not given to divination to change the course of the stars. On a sunny May day, Elena was seen off on her last journey. You are a winged call to the heights, you, created from fire, where are you now? Blessed is your every step in a world unknown to us, go like a goddess, scattering stars and flowers ...

We will hear your charming voice every morning - in the singing of birds, in the breath of the wind, in the ringing of spring streams and the sound of rain. In the spring, when wild rosemary blossoms in the spurs of the Sayan Mountains, in its purple sea we will hear your song about Tunka, about happiness, about love. Under the high summer sky, awake with the moon and stars, we will see your unforgettable image in the sky. You are always with us, beautiful soul!

Refined appearance and unique voice. She could easily become a model, but she chose the opera. And I didn't guess. Elena Sharaeva was the leading soloist of the Buryat Opera and People's Artist of Russia. But at the peak of her creative take-off, 3 years ago, she passed away. On the birthday of the great singer on June 28, a memorial evening was held.

Darima Linkhovoin, People's Artist of Russia: In the Tunka there is such a river, the Kyngyrga… Clean, but stormy. She, her voice was very similar to this river - pure and at the same time so temperamental.

Erzhena Bazarsadaeva, People's Artist of Buryatia: She had a specific character, even somewhere masculine. She said she cut it off.

Darima Linkhovoin, People's Artist of Russia: If I could talk about something, read something, fantasize, then she immediately brought me to my senses, reminded me of business. I felt younger next to her. And she did not teach anyone, did not read morals to anyone, but with her presence she somehow knew how to subordinate. She was very direct and could not cheat, could not build relationships, she did not succeed much from this.

Marina Korobenkova, Honored Artist of Buryatia: There was a son left, in general, of a small age, well, what is 14, now he is 17 years old.

Darima Linkhovoin, People's Artist of Russia: She traveled from Galbai to Ulan-Ude to give birth to him in Ulan-Ude, did not take him, the contractions began in Slyudyanka, and gave birth there ... She traveled abroad or to other cities and towns, and her son I studied at a boarding school, told all my dreams to my mother and was always very worried about her: I saw that my mother was beautiful and alone.

Erzhena Bazarsadaeva, People's Artist of Buryatia: Such a woman should be loved, I don't think she had no admirers. Of course, there were fans, but she never said who her fans were.

Darima Linkhovoin, People's Artist of Russia: But everything was fine on stage.

Marina Korobenkova, Honored Artist of Buryatia: She always kept her figure, never allowed herself to eat too much. She always knew her limits and looked, of course, divine on stage. Lena went on tour to Mongolia many times, traveled a lot with the government, to Moscow, for example. Everyone knew her well.

- Darima Linkhovoin, People's Artist of Russia: Creative life is not so long, you have to do everything in this life. - Marina Korobenkova, Honored Artist of Buryatia: And you know, we really always have no time. We have a repertoire, we go on tour, to concerts. And there is no time to go to the doctor. And some diseases do not portend anything. It doesn’t hurt, it doesn’t hurt, and then such terrible diagnoses are made. It is unfair when such people, who were not threatened by anything, leave our lives so quickly and abruptly. Instantly, it flared up like a bright star and went out ...

A talented singer, a reliable friend, a sympathetic deputy and a beautiful woman - all these epithets refer to the outstanding daughter of the Buryat people, one of the first professional singers in Buryatia Claudia Ivanovna Gomboeva-Yazykova. To a descendant of the well-known Trunev family in Verkhneudinsk, whom he himself opened the way to musical life Bau Yampilov, in May 2015 it would have been exactly one hundred years old, according to UlanMedia news agency.

Claudia Ivanovna Gomboeva-Yazykova was born on May 9, 1915 in Khorinsk in the family Yazykov Ivan Alexandrovich. Mom of the future singer Agnia Gavrilovna belonged to the ancient Trunev family. The Yazykov family constantly arranged musical evenings, where Russian, Ukrainian, as well as Buryat folk songs were performed. Claudia Ivanovna's father played the violin, her mother played the guitar, Kesha's brother played the balalaika, and Pavel's brother wrote songs.

The aspiring singer was the head of the drama and choral circles, studied in the folk orchestra, and worked as a librarian. The fate of a young girl was determined when the famous composer Bau Yampilov invited her to study at the theater and music school.

Having discussed her prospects at the family council, Claudia decided to go to Ulan-Ude. At the entrance exam, the girl brilliantly sang the song "Why did I, dear, recognize you?" and the Ukrainian "Oh, no retinue of a misyachenka."

According to the musicologist, Honored Art Worker of Russia, Professor Oleg Kunitsyn, "... the singer's voice - a lyrical soprano with a large range and freely taken "tops" - was equally accessible to a wide cantilena, and coloratura passages, and complex recitatives. The happy feature of K. Gomboeva-Yazykova's voice included his soft and warm coloring - for all the sonority, the singer's voice was deprived (even in the upper register) of the cold "glassy" shrillness. The singer sang musically, evenly, with the right sense of rhythm and tempo. The stage behavior of the artist was distinguished by simplicity, naturalness, clarity of intention "(quote - from information from the website of the Ministry of Culture of Buryatia).

And the singer's close relatives - children, grandchildren - forever remembered Claudia Ivanovna as a loving, caring mother and grandmother.

Olga Levina, the granddaughter of Claudia Gomboeva-Yazykova, recalls: “Thanks to my grandmother, music always sounded in the house, family concert evenings were arranged, in which other guests, opera performers, also participated. My father accompanied the piano, and my grandmother sang romances and opera parts. students of the P. I. Tchaikovsky Music College also visited our apartment, Claudia Ivanovna studied with them, taught the basics of opera art, shared her skills. Elena Sharaeva, who became one of the leading soloists of the Opera and Ballet Theatre. I myself also wanted to become an accompanist, I graduated from a special music school in piano. However, now I am engaged in linguistics, I work as a teacher at the university, and I also work for Radio Siberia - Baikal as a program director and broadcaster. Claudia Ivanovna's voice for me is a source of pride and inspiration"...

To the 55th anniversary of Elena Sharaeva

Unity of talent and beauty

Elena Sharaeva is a recognized opera singer, owner of a unique soprano, naturally endowed with excellent stage abilities, People's Artist of the Republic of Buryatia, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, was the leading soloist of the Buryat State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater.

Elena Gomboevna Sharaeva was born on June 28, 1962 in the village of Galbay in the family of Gombo Tsydypovich and Rinchin Dorzhievna Sharaev. Elena's natural musical talents manifested themselves in early childhood, when, not yet able to speak, she sang the melodies of Buryat songs.

After graduating from the Galbai and Toltoi schools, Elena entered the Ulan-Ude Music College in the class of the Honored Artist of Russia Claudia Ivanovna Gomboeva - Yazykova. Then there were years of study at the Leningrad Conservatory named after N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov, where she studied under the guidance of the Honored Art Worker of Russia, Professor Iraida Pavlovna Levando. The talented, gifted young singer Elena Sharaeva, being a student at the conservatory, sang the part of Domna Saburova in Rimsky-Korsakov's opera The Tsar's Bride, her diploma work was the part of Tatyana in Tchaikovsky's opera Eugene Onegin.

In 1989, after successfully graduating from the Leningrad Conservatory, Elena Sharaeva joined the professional troupe of the Buryat State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre. Tchaikovsky's The Queen of Spades; Saffy from "The Gypsy Baron" by I. Strauss; Neddy from "Pagliacci" by R. Leoncavallo; Leonora from "Troubadour" by G. Verdi; Yaroslavna from "Prince Igor" by A. Strauss, Silva from the operetta by I. Kalman, Volkhova from "Sadko" by N. Rimsky-Korsakov, etc.

In 1993 Elena Sharaeva was a participant in the first international competition for young vocalists in Perm, where she was awarded a special prize named after Olga Borodina. In the same year, she was invited to master classes by Irina Arkhipova, People's Artist of the USSR.

In 1995 Elena Sharaeva becomes a laureate of the ΧVΙ International Glinka Vocal Competition in Ufa. In the most difficult competitive program, fifteen out of 131 participants remained in the last round. Among them were three Buryat singers - Shagdar Zonduev, Nikolai Sibiryakov and Elena Sharaeva. The competition jury included People's Artists of the USSR Irina Arkhipova, Maria Bieshu, Ivan Petrov and other famous vocalists. Elena sang Tamara's arias from "The Demon" by Rubinstein, Verdi's Aida. Although it was not customary to applaud at the competitions, the hall exploded with stormy applause, and Elena had to bow several times. Irina Arkhipova described Elena as "a beautiful woman with a magnificent voice, a real marvelous rose that blossomed in the middle of autumn on the Ufa stage."

Much for the creative development of the singer was made by the People's Artist of Russia Darima Lkhasaranovna Linkhovoin, who helped prepare Elena's performances at competitions in Russia and on the international stage. Together with Darima Linkhovoin, Elena Sharaeva traveled to Austria and Holland, France and Japan, South Korea and the USA.

Wherever Elena Sharaeva performed, the audience enthusiastically perceived the singing of a talented singer. She brilliantly coped with the most difficult opera parts. Performances of our opera singers in Barnaul in 2002 conquered the audience, Elena Sharaeva attracted special attention. The newspapers wrote: "Don't miss Elena Sharaeva."

The artistic director of the Buryat Opera and Ballet Theater Vladimir Rylov, speaking on the Buryat radio, said that “Today, from the group of dramatic sopranos, the wonderful singer Elena Sharaeva came to the fore, singing for real, gaining experience, coming at the time of her heyday, both life and physical and creative talent.

Elena's mother, Rinchin Dorzheevna, a veteran of logistics and labor, was awarded the medal "For Valiant Labor in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945", medals of "Maternal Glory" 1 and 2 degrees, now lives in Ulan-Ude with her daughter Zina, who works in the lumber industry college. Zinaida Gomboevna, cultural specialist, creator of an ensemble of yatagists in the village of Galbay, worked creatively for many years in amateur art activities of a school, village, district and republic. She was an active member of the Khengerge folklore ensemble. Sister Valentina worked as an estimate engineer by profession in Magadan, now she works in Ulan-Ude.

Tsyren's son works in the north.

Our national treasure is the G. Tsydynzhapov Opera and Ballet Theater of Buryatia, where E. Sharaeva worked fruitfully and left her unsurpassed talent, in December this will celebrate its 75th anniversary. In the development and history of the Buryat musical art, she made her definite contribution. For her outstanding achievements in art, E. Sharaeva was awarded state awards, she was awarded the titles of "Honored Artist of Buryatia" (1995), "People's Artist of Buryatia" (1997), "Honored Artist of the Russian Federation" (2003).

Unfortunately, the stage biography of Elena Sharaeva ended very early in 2005, in the prime of her creative powers and opportunities. In the memory of her countrymen and all her grateful admirers, she always remains as the brightest star of Buryat art, possessing a bright talent, beauty, unique voice and great artistic charm.

The song "Duunaim zhegүүr Tunkhen" to the words of Gunga Chimitov, to the music of Anatoly Andreev, our countrywoman, Elena Sharaeva, loved to perform:

Erzhen Arduev,

Photos of Buryat beauties with a comment:

“Russia is rich in beautiful girls, and Buryatia is no exception. Only there girls have their own special - almost exotic - beauty. The Republic of Buryatia is an amazing place with a rich history and culture, interesting and original traditions and no less interesting natural places. The population of Buryatia is more than 970,000 people, but in this post we will talk about the female part of its population,” writes “topikstarter”.

Naturally, there were some trolling and obscene comments (inherent in this Russian entertainment resource).

In contrast to this, the ARD discussed more substantively.

Nana Badueva: Our beauties are somewhat static, the same from year to year, and the same rating goes around the Web, although beauty contests are held every year. Here in the Republic of Sakha - every year new beauties are revealed.

Evgeny Khamaganov: Mixed in more photos from the contact and staged. In Sakha, in my opinion, there are really more mestizos.

NB: Undoubtedly, they are beautiful ... But where are the new ones?

EX: Western Buryats are still more Caucasoid faces, but here, IMHO, it’s more likely not only a Russian substratum, but also a Turkic one.

Madegma "Medusya" Dorzhiev.

During the conversation, they remembered one well-known article about the Buryat beauty, which at one time caused a lot of responses.

About ten years ago, the current editor of the Buryaad Unen publishing house, and then a journalist for the Buryat newspaper Inform Polis, Alexander Makhachkeev, conducted his own study of the types of Buryats (we give the text here in full, since it was not preserved in the original source - the Inform Polis website).

By the way, our colleague recently wrote on Facebook:

“Yesterday, one beautiful lady resolutely declared with a sad look in her eyes: “We are a small people and I will marry only a Buryat!” After some thought: "Well, maybe even for a Mongol or a Kalmyk." And then she made a completely ideologically correct conclusion: "In general, so that within the borders of the empire of Genghis Khan ...".

Ethnic beauties of Buryatia

Unique types of female beauty - the fruits of the mixing of races and peoples - are scattered around the cities and towns of Buryatia
As a rule, local men notice this familiar ethnographic feature only at the level of a reflex and leave the right to generalizations to the guests of the republic. “What beautiful faces you have! You should be painting portraits and admiring, ”said the blue-eyed soloist of the Nepara duet during last year’s tour in Ulan-Ude. A German descendant of Pushkin, Hennig Lewis of Menard, who took part in the work of the Russian-German forum held in Ulan-Ude in early June, agrees with him. “I walked along the Soviet Square in front of Lenin's head, met many interesting Euro-Asian faces. Buryat women are very beautiful, where you can rarely meet such beautiful women as in Ulan-Ude.”

Northern type of Russian beauty

It has been preserved intact in the reserves of the family, in villages such as Upper Sayantui or Bolshoi Kunaley. These are fair-haired, blue-eyed and vigorous, as they say, blood with a woman’s milk, with an affectionate voice, like a stream: “If, then, take a flower on Thursday ...”

Orochon or Tungus

Extremely rare specimens of the “taiga princess Gantimurova” - with a pale matte skin tone, with submissive and smoky eyes, like those of an important woman, can still be found in the village of Kholodny in the North Baikal region, in Rossoshino and Dzhilinda in Baunt. Now the Baunt and North Baikal Evenks are increasingly acquiring a Caucasoid appearance, while the Barguzin and Kurumkan ones are becoming Buryat. Therefore, this species, poetically described by Vyacheslav Shishkov in "Gloomy River", is already disappearing.

Olkhonsky or Bulagatsky

Tall, most likely the result of a diet of fish and seals, a slender woman with a hooked nose, eyebrows apart, with bronze-colored skin. She looks more like an Indian squaw cleaning a wigwam. Is this why some ethnographers tend to consider this as irrefutable evidence of the closeness of the Buryats and Indians?

Steppe Khorinsky beauty

This type was vividly shown by the artist Namzhil Ochirov. He drew inspiration from his native Kizhing. A distinctive feature of the steppe is the wavy lines of the eyes and a thin camp.
Eravna beauties differ from Khorinsky and Kizhinga girls - there is no single standard here at all. The Moscow highway went through Eravna, along which people of different nationalities walked. Isn't that why fair-haired, green-eyed and plump-cheeked Buryats with a special charm are not uncommon here? In addition, Yeravna borders on Baunt, where in the 19th century more than 10 thousand Chinese worked at the mines, many of whom subsequently settled in the land of blue lakes and left a deep mark. But the Tungus, the indigenous inhabitants of this land, had an even stronger influence on the formation of the appearance of the Eravna beauties.
In addition, a large diaspora of people from Olkhon lives here, for example, in the village of Mozhaika. Therefore, it is almost impossible to bring the local beauties to a common denominator.

Barguzin and Kurumkan beauties

Buryat girls from the Barguzin valley are famous for their beauty. They are white-skinned and big-eyed. In the old days, when the winter road opened on Baikal, matchmakers came to Barguzin from the Baikal region. Girlish beauty was measured by sacks of flour. Until now, Barguzin beauties, estimated at a maximum of two bags, are living out their lives in Ust-Orda.
Kurumkan has its own type of appearance - the blood of Verkholensk Buryats, Tungus, Chinese vagrants, Jewish and Russian settlers mixed here. The highlight of kurumkan women is the swarthyness and narrowness of the face, like, for example, the artist of Baikal Tsypilma Ayusheeva.

Mongolian and Bukhara (Sartul) type

Visiting card - Kyakhta, Dzhida and Selenga. The beauties of the first type are outwardly close to the Khalkha-Mongols. The second type, Bukhara (oval face, large eyes), originating from Central Asia, is still found in the Sartul villages of Dzhida.

Hongodor beauties

They live in Tunka, Zakamen and Oka, they are distinguished by the sharpness of facial features inherent in the highlanders. A typical example is the singer Elena Sharaeva. In the southern mountains, the Hamnigan type, close to the Manchurian (Myla village), and the Eastern Turkic (Soyot) type (Sorok village) have also been preserved.
In the mountains of Zakamny there are also perfect examples of German Gretchen - blond Teutons, descendants of post-war exiled settlers.

Buryatia - the future Latin America?

For centuries Buryatia has been a melting pot of nations. In connection with globalization, the processes of mixing are only increasing. In general, miscegenation strongly affected Tunka, Kizhinga, Khorinsk, Dzhida, Baunt and Ulan-Ude. The most famous beauties representing a mixed type are actress Larisa Egorova and simply beautiful Alena Albasheeva. In the future, this type may prevail in our country, with variations towards the Kazakh or Uzbek samples.

PS from ARD: Judging by the presented photos and comments on Yaplakal, this type has already prevailed. Although at one of the beauty contests at Altargan in 2008, the organizers tried to introduce certain standards, say, a certain height of the contestants. To which a representative of one of the delegations exclaimed - "Buryat beauty is not measured in centimeters!". It's hard to argue with - all girls have their own beauty, and guys have their own standards).
