Jazz seasons in Lenin's hills. Igor Butman

In the historical place of the Moscow region - the museum-reserve "Gorki Leninskie" - an event that music lovers of Moscow and the Moscow region are looking forward to - the International Festival "Jazz Seasons" - will soon take place. Ten leading jazz bands from Russia and abroad will perform in one place at once. We name five weighty reasons why the festival in Gorki is not to be missed.

1. LISTEN TO OUTSTANDING MUSICIANS

This year the festival celebrates its first anniversary - five years, so the program is impressive. The headliners will be world-famous trumpeter Christian Scott, American organist Larry Goldings, the ideological inspirer of the festival Igor Butman and his Moscow Jazz Orchestra.

Also during the festival, the Guru Groove Foundation, Igor Butman's quintet, Alex Rostotsky, David Goloshchekin's ensemble will perform in Gorki.

All the ensembles there sound amazing, says Butman. - It's amazing how much nature, alleys, Morozov's estate create not only a special atmosphere, but also some kind of acoustic paradise.

2. HEAR SYUTKIN IN A NEW GENRE

Among the headliners of the festival is also a famous singer, musician Valery Syutkin. If you love him for the songs “What You Need”, “The King of Orange Summer”, we are in a hurry to surprise you - the artist has a jazz project Light Jazz, so the festival is a great opportunity to hear your favorite songs in a new format.

3. GET TO KNOW THE HISTORY OF THE MUSEUM

The Gorki Leninskiye Museum-Reserve has an interesting history. The estate was owned by representatives of noble families; shortly before the revolution, the millionaire Zinaida Morozova, the widow of the Russian philanthropist Savva Morozov, lived here. With the advent of Soviet power, Gorki became the residence of Vladimir Lenin. You can learn about all this on special excursions that the museum prepares for festival guests.

4. SPEND THE DAY WITH THE FAMILY

The Jazz Seasons festival is perfect for a big family holiday. All conditions have been created for this: admission for children under 10 years old is free, a subscription for families is much cheaper, around there are food court zones and various activities: master classes, quests, games.

There is a wonderful atmosphere at the festival: children and parents are sitting on the lawn. Even in bad weather, there are always a lot of people, - says Igor Butman.

Life hack: come early, have time to take comfortable chairs. Or just bring some blankets with you and sit right on the grass in front of the stage.

5. DO NOT SPEND A RULE ON THE ROAD

If you are traveling to the festival by car, free parking awaits you. If on your own, you don’t have to think about how to get to the location and return back: a free transfer is organized for festival visitors. The first flight from the Domodedovskaya metro station will be at 13.00, the last flight from the Gorki Leninskiye Museum-Reserve at 23.00.

Igor Butman, People's Artist of Russia, member of the Public Chamber of the Moscow Region:

This magnificent festival has been going on for the fifth year. For us, "Jazz Seasons" is a festival where we get aesthetic pleasure both from what we hear and from what we see around.
