In October 2008, The Pretty Reckless was founded.
Its initial line-up did not last long and consisted of Matt Chiarella (Matt Chiarelli), John Secolo (John Secolo) and Nick Carbone (Nick Carbone). The beginning of 2009 for the group was marked by the release of several demo recordings that influenced the whole future creative career group, and in the same place and a performance as the opening act for The Veronicas.
In the summer of 2009, there were major changes in the group's line-up. This track was featured on the soundtrack of the movie Kick-Ass and has since become the official single from the New York band. The second single is a composition called Miss Nothing.
The top of the UK Rock Chart was conquered by the song Make Me Wanna Die, which remained the leader of the chart for 6 weeks in a row.

In an instant, Momsen got rid of the image of a "glamorous girl", appearing before the audience in the video "My Medicine" in a defiant way. The loud hit "Make me wanna die" added to the group's popularity around the world. Everyone fell in love with the provocative stage image singers: long white hair, boots, stockings and smoky eyes. The group formed in October 2008. The original name of the group was to be The Reckless, but was changed to The Pretty Reckless due to copyright issues with the title. The first line-up consisted of John Secolo, Matt Chiarelli and Nick Carbone. Early 2009 years Pretty Reckless released several demos and supported The Veronicas. On June 4, 2009, Momsen decided to part ways with the members of the group due to a discrepancy in musical tastes and invited new musicians.
