Aquitaine lioness. Theater Lenkom

"The Lioness of Aquitaine" directed by Gleb Panfilov is a psychodrama performance. Many also call it a political, lyrical, sexual and even exotic drama. The performance is really worth it to once get on it. Tickets for the Lioness of Aquitaine are always in demand. Follow the program and don't miss it appearing on Lenkom's posters!

About the premiere and the success story of the performance

The Lioness of Aquitaine premiered in early October 2010. The public and critics were delighted. The performance was called a true cultural event of the capital, and they were not mistaken. The years that have passed since the premiere have proven this.

G. Panfilov was offered to become the director of the performance. He gladly agreed. The traditionalist Panfilov did not alter, did not add to the text of the play, which was what the theatrical management was counting on when inviting the famous film director. However, he called the production in his own way - "The Lioness of Aquitaine", thereby immediately determining the significance of the queen in Eleanor's exile. Panfilov inserted poetic zongs into the production.

The unbeaten ace that determined the grandiose success of The Lioness of Aquitaine was the choice of performers at main role. They were people's artists I. Churikova (Queen Eleanor of Aquitaine) and D. Pevtsov ( English king Henry II).

The plot of the play and its features

The performance is based on the famous historical play by D. Goldman called "The Lion in Winter". It reflects the rather complex relationship between the parents of the famous Richard the Lionheart. In Lenkom's performance, S. Piotrovsky skillfully plays him.

At the end of his life, King Henry II of England is obliged to announce the name of a successor. Eleanor of Aquitaine, the wife of the king, who was released from prison, comes to the castle for such a significant event. At the grand reception are 3 royal sons: John, Geoffrey and Richard.

The whole family is literally infected with merciless hatred for each other. Each of the sons is ready to go to evil intrigues, treacherous conspiracies, treacherous alliances in order to obtain the coveted power.

Perhaps the most interesting thing in this theatrical performance is the duel of equal spouses-opponents, who are both connected and separated by joint children. IN modern times so family dramas there are no numbers, but the conversation is about those in power who decide human destinies!

It seems to mere mortals that crowned individuals should not be subject to human weaknesses. Is there a paradox on the stage of Lenkom? The authors of the production forgot what kind of characters should be presented to the viewer? No!

The paradox of the situation lies precisely in the fact that royalty created from the same "dough" as ordinary people. So no matter how you hide behind power, but personal charm and sexual relations will play a role in history.

Can I buy tickets for the Lioness of Aquitaine in Lenkom? It is unlikely that Melpomene fans have doubts on this topic! Panfilov turned out to be a psychodrama performance, and besides, political, exotic and, of course, loving. Is it worth trusting the evaluation of the result to others? Tickets at the box office are not delayed.

Press and audience about the performance

A lot of flattering audience reviews received the game of Inna Churikova (Eleanor of Aquitaine). The press took the performance positively, the performer of the role of Henry II, Dmitry Pevtsov, received especially flattering reviews:

"If anything makes one take Panfilov's performance seriously, it is, surprisingly enough, the play of Dmitry Pevtsov. The impressive and technically equipped artist not only does not lose on stage to his partner. For almost the first time in his life, he is trying to play an almost tragic role. And , I must say, several times during the performance he is very convincing in this role. "In Pevtsov's game, that volume and drama appear that his previous roles were deprived of."

The musical component of the performance was also highly appreciated. The ensemble of soloists PATAPAN and soloist of the Moscow Philharmonic Vladimir Lazerson perform many melodies live, including old musical instruments, such as

Guests of the King at the Feast of the Nativity of 1181 - Theater Artists

Before the trip, I somehow looked through the reviews, not bothering to read about the performance itself and the play. To be honest, I was in a somewhat wary state, because the details mentioned in many reviews, mmm ... puzzled.
In fact, everything turned out to be true: they stripped Henry, and they sing songs, and rap, and curses, and a homo theme. But all of it is somehow not the main thing, now it is strange to me that some seem to have focused precisely on these details. And the performance is about ... " Henry II (Dmitry Pevtsov) is ready for anything so that the heirs do not tear the country apart, and his wife, the disgraced Alienora, as played by Inna Churikova, under the guise of a great intriguer, hides the pain of a rejected woman who wants to save her family at any cost." (from Afisha.ru website)
Such a good family royal story. At some point, it seems that everyone is playing against everyone and it is not possible to figure out the true motives (I even remembered the ever-relevant "I'm fighting ... just because I'm fighting!" (C)) - decisions change so many times, conspiracies are replayed and alliances are renegotiated... And only at the end everything falls into place. I actually liked it. It is unlikely that I will become a zealous fan of this particular performance, but on the whole I enjoyed it and had the best impression.

Well, Inna Churikova is absolutely incomparable, of course. Her Eleanor is such a strong, deep image... I'm in awe. (With)
Henry II - D. Pevtsov. I'm not a fan of Pevtsov, to put it mildly (although there are no prerequisites for this, such a purely personal glitch). To be honest, I didn't recognize him right away. In my defense, I can say that I was sitting very far away, but the binoculars somehow did not help)) But, yes, he played. For me, he "played" too much with insufficient energy and feelings. Although, probably, I just didn’t see something important from my gallery. But even so, in a couple of places I was very impressed, yes.
Richard (Piotrovsky) - good, but did not stand out too much, in my opinion. Actually, I don't remember anything.
Jeffrey (Giesbrecht) - from this filial trinity, my newly formed favorite :) For my taste, the most interesting image and cute queen :)
John (Konyakhin) - Also a miracle, but more predictable. younger child in the family, this is probably a bit of a diagnosis)) "Mom said go eat, then go and eat!" (With) :)))
Ellis (Yuganova) - beautiful in her place. I liked it very much.

The most unexpected thing, probably, is that this performance could be a drama, but in fact it is very "lightened" with jokes that you want to remember) It's a pity that a part was forgotten, but something, as it turns out, "sparks" only in context...
