Drawing in Illustrator step by step tutorials. Why do you need Adobe Illustrator? Creating complex objects by cutting out the constituent parts of graphic primitives

School for those who do not have the skills to work with Adobe Illustrator, but would like to explore his from scratch. And only what you need for stocks, maximum fast and if possible Just. I would call it “School for pensioners”, since my mother will be the teacher there, now she is a pensioner herself, and in the past a teacher high school. But, of course, anyone who needs initial, structured and, most importantly, free knowledge of Adobe Illustrator. And now the word to the author:

Instead of an introduction

This school is aimed at retirees, grandparents. The author of the lessons herself retired and experienced how difficult it is to get used to the new state. There are forces, there is a desire to work, but there is no hobby. Things to do?

Someone will ask why I ended up in retirement if I didn’t think about leaving. My school closed, and I did not want to go to another. Once she sewed well, but after working for more than 30 years at the school, she lost all her skills.

Learn Adobe Illustrator I was offered by my daughter, who has become a successful illustrator and photographer and retired from her stressful job. And her earnings on stocks simply surprised me, they cannot be compared with the salary of a school teacher. Moreover, she always has free time. And I remembered with horror the eternal workload of the teacher, twitchiness, lack of freedom. It opened up to me that you can live differently and get good money.

My son-in-law installed Adobe Illustrator CS5 for me (first there were CS3, CS4, they can still come in handy if you don't have the latest version), and I started learning the program. I can’t admire myself: development was slow. It seems to me that our generation, for the most part, has not received something, we somehow grasp the new in a wrong way. There are, of course, advanced people, they quickly learn and remember, but I am not one of them.

My daughter gave me the basics of Illustrator in a “large block”, everything seemed to be clear, I left (we live in different places), did not immediately take up the program, and it turned out that I did not understand anything. I re-read the notes several times, looked blankly at the screen, quit from fatigue, but something brought me back to the program again. Gradually, something began to clear up in my mind, and it seemed interesting to invent plots and various compositions, figures. I still wonder what a smart program!

Where is the place for boredom, time flies instantly. This is a real hobby! Do not just set a goal to get a lot of money immediately on the stocks. Everything will come, but gradually. It is too gambling– see what they bought from you and how much you earned.

About classes

Where do we start? First of all, find yourself or ask young people to help you find and install Adobe Illustrator CS5 or an earlier version. Without this, nothing will work in our training.

As in any school we will go from simple material to more complex. Let's learn something first draw from graphics primitives, and then what take on stock. Strong students can go ahead on their own, but there are always those who need help.

Lessons will small in volume because I know from my own experience that you get tired of learning new things. Take your time to move forward, having understood the material, create a few sketches, be sure to save them. The accumulated will form the basis of your future drawings. This is again from my experience. How much I just removed, but there was a rational grain. Do not rush to delete anything, save!

Do not scold yourself for negligence, and I did not succeed at once, make your stay in the program joyful and creative. smile every little right step, you will succeed. If you draw well, then you are in your own world, you just need to master the tools and palettes. If you are not an artist, but you want to draw, then you hit the mark again. The program is so good that it will fix all your difficulties that you experienced when drawing on paper with paints or pencil.

What is this all for?

And such a question may arise for beginners. Do you communicate with grandchildren? Did they emphasize to you that you are not good at computers? Yes, you are talking in social networks and if it doesn't appeal to you? You are used to working, and just looking at the monitor screen is an empty pastime. So here you will make good use of your time, and your grandchildren, dear grandparents, will look at you with delight, and tell your friends that you are a “stoker” and “freelancer”. For the sake of such words, you should try to study at this school.

You don't have grandchildren? But you have friends, they will also appreciate your desire to learn. When you are passionate about something, you are active and interesting, the fire of knowledge shines in your eyes, you are different from others, you have something to tell, you attract people, you want to communicate with you, you are kind and sincere, you are respected. I have experienced all this myself, many people do not know anything about the Illustrator program, for them you will open a new world.

Lesson plan.

Lessons will be published on the site as they are created.

Adobe Illustrator is a program used by artists and graphic designers to create vector images.

Why do you need Adobe Illustrator?

It is used to create illustrations, diagrams, graphs, logos, diagrams, caricatures of real photos, and more.

In the future, the created images will serve as the basis for company logos, will be used for promotional purposes or even for personal work, both in print and electronic form.

At first glance, the program may seem difficult to understand and work with, but it is worth making at least a minimum of effort to learn the basics, and you yourself will see how interesting and easy it is to work with it.

It's safe to say that this program is one of the most popular vector editors.

Is a vector image an art?

Creating vector images allows you to create clean and beautiful artwork that can be scaled up and down indefinitely without losing its quality.

Have you had such cases when you, having finished creating an image in Adobe Photoshop, realized that it should be three times more than what you did? You go into the image options to increase its size and... oops... the image is now jagged and looks terrible. And you need to start over. And all this because such an image was too small in order to be able to increase its size without losing quality.

You could avoid this problem by using vector graphic editor, such as Adobe Illustrator.

Why? The answer to this question is simple.

Unlike the images we are used to in GIF, JPEG, TIFF, etc. formats, i.e. images - known as bitmaps, vector images are not made up of pixels. Instead, they are made up of lines and/or curves that are described by mathematical entities called vectors, allowing them to be expanded and mathematically resized ad infinitum.

This makes a vector editor more ideal for companies than Photoshop, as they can create images or logos that can be scaled down for icons, or enlarged to huge sizes for billboards.

What can you do with Illustrator?

Many people have a fear of this program, believing that they do not have artistic skills and certain skills.

If you can't draw on paper, what makes you think you can't draw on a computer?

First of all, this is a sign of your lack of confidence in yourself, as well as in your abilities.

Adobe Illustrator requires virtually no prior knowledge of drawing or painting. You can use it to create freehand drawings, and you can also import a photo and use it as a base - a guide for further drawing, eventually turning it into a work of art that looks like you drew it by hand.

Do you want to draw a circle around a specific image or logo? No problem! It's not as difficult as you think.

Illustrator is not limited to use only by artists and graphic designers. Many webmasters use it in the process of creating site layouts, while the created vector can be used in a large number of different platforms.

Since the illustrator is an Adobe product, it can easily work with its other programs.

So, after creating the original image, you can drag it into Photoshop for further editing and applying various filters, or in InDesign for flawless printing of digital booklets and magazines.

Want to turn your drawing into a game or animation? Import into Flash and watch it come to life!

You can even add your logo and illustrations to videos or bring them to life with After Effects.

The choice of possibilities is great! You just have to want to learn.

Universality of the program

Are you still not interested in creating and using a vector? Well, then I will give you more examples of the priority of this program over the others.

For example, if you decide you no longer want the illustration to be vector image, you can easily convert it to a JPEG bitmap.

Unfortunately, illustrations created as bitmaps cannot be converted to vector format after the fact.

If you're not sure if you really need to resize an image later, it might be worthwhile to create it in vector, especially if the image will be widely used throughout a company or office.

Another feature is that vector files are much smaller in weight than their bitmap counterparts.

In addition, such images are created from various lines, curves, shapes and points, so you have almost unlimited possibilities for editing them.

Let's say you draw a heart in Adobe Photoshop and decide that the bottom of the heart is too narrow, but you can't fix that. What a pity! You will have to start over.

Now let's say you want to create the same heart but in Adobe Illustrator. Since it is made up of several different dots, you can go back to the base settings and make the bottom part wider.

You can do this and more without worrying about ruining the quality of your drawing.

These features of Adobe Illustrator make it easy to turn the entire drawing process into a creative one. And also you will not be limited in the process of making changes after saving.

Another bonus of the program is a transparent background. Unless you create a background for your image, it will always be transparent. This is useful in most different situations, for example when you just want to put a logo on top of something or just add it as a little illustration in big picture Images.

Which can't be done with bitmaps since you'll need to first separate the image from the background before trying to change that background to a different one. And that can take quite some time.

I am sure that you will be satisfied with the program and the fact that you stopped at creating vector graphics when you start creating more complex designs.

This is for you?

I want to note that the licensed version of Adobe Illustrator is a rather expensive program, in principle, like all programs created by Adobe. This is due to the fact that it is really created for professionals.

If you still have doubts or are not completely sure if this program is really for you, Adobe offers a free 30-day trial. This time is quite enough so that you can plunge into beautiful world creating vector graphics.
