Valery Mikhailovich Didula is known for his virtuoso guitar playing. Valery created the DiDyuLya group, tours the world. Musician Valery Mikhailovich Didyulya was born on January 24, 1969 in a Belarusian family living in Grodno. At the age of 5, Didula receives original gift from my mother - my first guitar. This helped him discover his love for music. Music

Music captured Didula from the first chords. With friends, the young guitarist often went to concerts, came up with original melodies. Valery joins the Scarlet Dawns vocal and instrumental ensemble. With concerts, the group performed in front of the inhabitants of the city, collective farms. Performances in a cooperative restaurant bring Didula's first earnings.

The ensemble breaks up, so Valery had to look for a new job. He was invited to the White Dew team as a sound engineer. Didula admits that this subsequently had a great influence on his work. The guitarist had an understanding of the psychology and desires of the audience. The artist travels the world with the ensemble. On tour in Spain, Didula gets acquainted with the flamenco style.

Until that moment, the guitarist was in no hurry to delve into the sound of Spanish music. The team spent a lot of time in Spain. Valery even managed to participate in several impromptu street concerts. Work in the ensemble prompted Didula to creative experiments. He had the necessary technical base, which allowed the guitarist to record compositions. Together with the dancer and choreographer Dmitry Kurakulov, he is going to conquer television.

Qualifying round passed with success. Valery's skill allowed him to move on to the next stage and take part in the gala concert. The work of a sound engineer is no longer a pleasure for Didula. At this moment, an invitation arrives to move to Minsk from pianist Igor Bruskin. First, Valery works in a music salon as a salesman, regularly visits Moscow, gets acquainted with the owners of recording studios, concert halls, musical organizations.

Didula took part in the festival " Slavic Marketplace". The event made him recognizable in the CIS countries, Bulgaria, the Baltic States and Poland. For Valery begins new stage life. The musician is trying to combine electronic and folk music. Moving to Moscow was difficult for Didula: it was necessary to quickly get used to local traditions and principles of life. He had serious difficulties. Valery would have had to return home if not for the help of Sergei Kulishenko. He helped the guitarist make professional recordings in the studio. The musician recorded 8 songs. Soon, together with Sergei Didula, he creates a home recording studio.

Valery meets sound producer Sergei Migachev. Thanks to his influence and help, Valery creates his debut album, shoots the Isadora video. Despite this success, major record labels did not want to collaborate with the musician. Again and again, Didula worked on the perfect sound of the guitar. Soon he signed a contract with Global Music, but this did not help advance his career as a guitarist.

Timur Salikhov appears in Valery's life. To this day he works as a director of the musician. With Global Music, the contract was terminated and cooperation with Knox Music began. After signing the contract, Didula starts filming a new video with the participation of the Todes ballet. Gradually, the recognition of the guitarist begins to grow, there are more and more tours, new ideas appear, embodied in the album "Road to Baghdad". Didula collaborates with eminent musicians, including. They create the composition "Satin Shores".

In 2014, Didula and Max Lawrence in a duet applied to participate in music competition Eurovision from Belarus. They prepared a large-scale number that surprised the jury and the audience. Weekend.od.ua: Valery, what are your impressions of the Odessa public? Didula: Of course I like it. The spectator is musical, spoiled by concerts, various artists, definitely stars. There is also a lot going on here in the summer, because the beach area is nice. resort town, and in winter, and in other off-seasons. The city is spoiled for concerts, so we were getting close to Odessa for a very long time, gradually, quietly. At first she tasted us, in my opinion, back in 2003 or 2004, but then we already got a taste and enjoyed the inhabitants of Odessa, and I hope they come from us. From year to year we come with big, good concerts in autumn or spring, and in summer we come to Arcadia, we delight the wonderful residents and guests of this city with our performances. So the friendship took place.

Weekend.od.ua: What do you like about Odessa itself? Didula: Of course, I like the sea. It is missing a little in Moscow, in the summer I like the atmosphere of air, carelessness, beautiful girls in Odessa. Here I am looking at you, and there is confirmation of this - the eyes are so playful, beautiful, such a slender red-haired beast in good sense this word. All this is striking, namely beauty and gaiety, but at the same time the city is experienced, it has everything: wealthy people, creative potential, selective viewer. It is possible to carry out good concerts, light, sound, and in general the surroundings of the city are bright and you know Odessa has a great future, because it is a port and Cultural Center. A lot of interesting artists have come out of here. Briefly said a lot of good things.

Weekend.od.ua: Do you have a large team of musicians, do you often improvise at concerts? Didula: Of course, there is a lot of improvisation. In a live, high-energy concert, in such a cheerful and percussive, it’s not even a concert anymore, it’s more like they came to play, and then, once the audience turned up. In fact, a very light atmosphere, everything is very easy on the outside, but inside there is a very well-coordinated work, a lot of work, sweat, effort, rehearsals, touring experience behind it. The apotheosis of all this is the concert, but we definitely enjoy, of course, a lot of improvisation and polished, which are choreographed to the microsecond and a lot of light and free, sudden, unexpected. This is an absolutely living action, no conventions, only open creativity.

Weekend.od.ua: Has your first guitar survived? Didula: Of course, in the city of Grodno, in my apartment, which we did not sell. She stayed there, sometimes she is waiting for me there, when I come to travel around Belarus, I stay in my hometown and there, in one of the rooms, my old Cremona guitar. It stands there, of course, broke - could not stand the test of time. In any case, this tool is there, I save it.

Weekend.od.ua: How do you relax, relax? Didula: Nature, communication, a bit of sports, cycling, swimming, I like to drive a car, walks. Even today we came to the sea, ate there, admired the sea, went to the beach, and there people are already sunbathing, such a summer traffic. I don't need a lot to be happy, I find something unique in the little things - it saves me. Children's look life sometimes gives you the opportunity to be inspired, rest, recover, change your mood and so again and again go on stage.

Weekend.od.ua: Where do you draw your creative energy from? Didula: It can be a journey, and people, situations, a beautiful melody, an act can be some kind of good, hugs, maybe a glance, an anecdote or, on the contrary, negative, but it will change something in itself and a creative revelation is obtained. Therefore, the whole life inspires me, and is the most important inspiring factor. Of course, there is also music, there are still things that are beyond words, which are difficult to talk about. Doesn't matter surrounding life turns into music and, probably, that is why the viewer wants to hear it, comes to the concert, buys tickets, and that evening people come and spend two and a half hours of their life time touching creativity, where there is not a single word, but there are many emotions, energy, message, melodies, music, and most importantly, there is a pure frank live game. It costs a lot.

Weekend.od.ua: You have been on stage for more than ten years. What do you think is the secret of such success? Didula: Live, fair game. In general, the concept of success is vague for me, it is not clear to me. We were born, there is a guitar, there is an opportunity to write and compose music - this is already a success. If there is a public resonance, and spectators come in different cities, countries, this is what I expected twenty years ago. There is also an idea for the future, this is normal, expected, and I am very calm about this and applause, and failures, failures - everything should be. In fact, nothing changes - the same music, melodies, guitar, and the same desire to create an interesting and musical mood around you. This desire is in me and to this day I go on stage with it.

Weekend.od.ua: With such creative energy, do you have time for your personal life? Didula: Personal life is such a territory, such an island or islet, on which I do not let anyone in. Of course, there is still time. Personal territory requires a very reverent, thorough, careful attitude to yourself, but there must be a personal life. I say this to my musicians and colleagues, but I am a workaholic, I devote a lot of energy to my work, but of course there is personal space, time, there is a disconnect from music. I say: “I flew away, left, I won’t be there for a month,” and everyone knows that Diduli will not be there, he decided to relax with someone or alone. This also happens sometimes.

Weekend.od.ua: You have rather unusual shoes on the platform, this stage image Or casual shoes? Didula: I'm not big, so the platform is not, it's not a complex. I got rid of them many years ago, when the first albums appeared, small movements, more saturated, and the complexes evaporated, I stopped paying attention to them. In fact, I am very unusual, and music, and shoes, costumes, movements, gait, plasticity, that is, sound production. I read that in the press they write that this detachment is evidence that I was stoned, sniffed, but in fact I am passionate about music. I live very freely, I can afford fantasies, whims, emotions. Valery Didula is a legendary Belarusian guitarist whose work has no analogues in the post-Soviet space. The compositions he performs in a subtle way combine the charm instrumental music with modern processing and unusual sound. The early years, childhood and family of Valery Diduli

The future virtuoso guitarist was born in the city of Grodno, located in the west of modern Belarus. Here he visited general education school. Here, for the first time, he began to comprehend the basics of guitar music.

Didula received his first guitar when he was five years old, as a gift from his mother. From that moment on, he systematically developed his innate talents, methodically plucking the strings and rearranging chords one by one. His teachers admired his efficiency, and he, not paying attention to anything, simply improved his game, looking at the great guitarists of his time.

As a teenager, Valery first learned about the existence of various auxiliary devices that allow him to work on a guitar sound. From that moment on, experimenting with gadgets, sensors, pickups and other similar elements became a real obsession for young musician.

He developed his skills, and at the same time worked on creating an original guitar sound. Very soon, these efforts bore fruit. Didula's compositions began to acquire their unusual sound for the first time. However, it was still far from the real peaks.

Some time later, as the third guitarist, our today's hero got a job in the vocal and instrumental group "Scarlet Dawns", which at that time was very popular in the BSSR. The group's concerts were held almost everywhere - in cities, towns, villages, collective farms, etc. The success contributed to the ensemble, but at some point, the Scarlet Dawns nevertheless began to disintegrate. The reason for this was the collapse of the USSR, as well as a huge number of opportunities that opened up. Some of the musicians went west, some opened their own own business and only our today's hero continued to systematically work on his work.

Didula - Way home

In the early nineties, he joined the Grodno team "White Dew", in which for a long time He worked not only as a guitarist, but also as a sound engineer. At that time, the named group was mainly engaged in the performance of Belarusian, Polish and Ukrainian folk songs. Valery Didula liked the folk style so much that subsequently notes of folk music constantly sounded in all his later compositions.

In addition, it is also worth noting that it was as part of the White Dew ensemble that our today's hero first went on tour in Western Europe - Poland, Germany, France, Switzerland, Italy, Spain and some other countries.

Spain made a particularly great impression on the young musician, or rather, its characteristic guitar music in flamenco style. After the end of the tour, Valery Didula stayed in this Pyrenean state for several more years, studying guitar passages and rhythms during this time.

Thus, by the end of the 2000s, the style of the Belarusian musician was finally formed. Flamenco music subtly intertwined in it with Belarusian-Polish folk motifs, and modern house arrangements complemented all this.

We can say that with the beginning of the experiments, the original style of the future legendary guitarist began to emerge, which touched the hearts of millions of listeners with his work. Like a man possessed, he crossed a guitar sound with an electronic one. And soon, the first shoots of his fanatical work began to break through. And all sorts of gadgets, pickups, sensors and other equipment have become constant companions of the guitar virtuoso.

Valery Didula never retreated from his destiny and his first professional performance took place in the composition of the vocal and instrumental group Scarlet Dawns, popular in Soviet Belarus. The ensemble gave concerts wherever possible! Cities, villages, collective farms and others settlements for the first time we heard the third guitarist play, though as part of the band, but at the same time as a full-fledged member of it. The folk style of playing was popular among the countryside listeners, but it was time for the band to fall apart. In the difficult nineties, the musician managed not only to get into the White Dew group, which was an order of magnitude higher in professionalism than the Scarlet Dawns, but also to acquire the skills of a sound engineer, whose position in the group was entrusted to Didula. The performance of the folk songs of Poland, Ukraine and Belarus sounded in the style of "folk" and this added its own special flavor to the work of the guitarist. Later in his solo performances folk music repeatedly permeates his compositions, which are intertwined with guitar and electronic sound. It takes the listener on a whole new kind of musical journey.

"White Dew" at that time were in demand not only in the territory former union, but also in Western Europe. Having traveled around Poland, Germany, Italy, France, Switzerland, Spain and other countries, the guitarist caught another sound, which harmoniously formed the basis of his work. It was flamenco! The Spanish energy embedded in the guitar rhythms and passages made the musician leave the band at the end of the tour and study a new musical trend for the guitar genius.

The birth of a star

In 2000, the musician finally acquired a fully formed style, which sharply distinguished him from the usual, similar guitar masters. Belarusian-Polish folk motifs, intertwined with house-arrangement and hot Spanish flamenco began to fill the halls with people and the first professional recordings appeared. Gathering a group of musical like-minded people, Valery Didula began to give concerts in Ukraine, Belarus, Poland and Spain, delighting the audience with his unusual and charged playing of his guitar.

Of course, much of the guitarist's progress was made by his musical guardians. Minsk businessman Igor Bruskin and composer Oleg Eliseenko persuaded Didula to move to a more promising Minsk, where all kinds of competitions and concerts rained down on the guitarist's head. The musician's talent was not in doubt, and he received an invitation to perform at the major international festival "Slavianski Bazaar", which gave a powerful impetus to the career of a guitar genius.

After the festival, new horizons opened up for Valery, and soon Moscow opened its doors to Diduli's creativity. The first studio album was recorded in 2000, under the name "Flamenco", and then the first video of the guitarist appeared.
