The cities presented in this article are the most romantic in all of Europe. They are very popular among tourists from all over the world. best places for romantic travel.

First place, of course, is occupied by Paris with the world-famous Eiffel Tower. This city seems to be thoroughly saturated with subtle aromas of love and French charm. The most beautiful parks add a romantic and loving mood, old houses and cozy cafes. There is nothing more beautiful and wonderful than a declaration of love made on the Eiffel Tower, towering above the brightly shining lights of Paris.

The second place in the list of romantic places went to prim London, or rather, its Ferris wheel - "London Eye". If the Paris weekend did not impress you, then you can add thrills to your relationship with your soulmate by riding a huge "ferris" wheel. But places must be booked in advance, because. there are too many people who want to ride this attraction. Inside, the cabin of the "ferris" wheel is made into a mini-restaurant for two or three people. In addition to a couple in love, i.e. the third person will be the waiter, whose duties include setting the table, serving champagne, chocolate and strawberries. The time spent in the booths takes about half an hour. During this time, a dizzying romantic excursion awaits you.

Third place on the list went to the Greek island of Santorini, which is located near Cyprus. Once this island, together with the rocks surrounding it, was just a volcano. But after a strong eruption, part of the island went under water, and the rest, i.e. crater, and formed the island of Santorini. The island attracts with its unique contrasts of churches and snow-white houses that shine against the backdrop of black volcanic soil and blue sea. In this fabulous place, you feel in seventh heaven with happiness, succumbing to the romantic splendor of Greece.

The countries and peoples of the region have gone through a very difficult, dramatic path of development, which is primarily due to the fact that for centuries it has been and remains a sphere of struggle for the geopolitical interests of major powers both from the west and from the east. Most countries in the region are highly volatile state structure. Periods of geopolitical strength and greatness gave way to a complete loss of statehood and long-term dependence on powerful neighbors. A vivid example of this is fate. The Hungarians, who in 2000 celebrated the millennium of the formation of their state, in the second half of the past millennium were under the rule of Ottoman Empire and for more than two centuries they lived in the Austro-Hungarian Empire, where they felt like a “second-class” people. In 2003, the Bulgarian people celebrated the 125th anniversary of the liberation of their homeland by the Russian army from 400 years of Turkish rule. Just a decade ago, for the first time in centuries of history, the Baltic and Balkan peoples gained real state independence.

The twentieth century was very difficult for most countries in the region. They fell into the “millstones” of two world wars that claimed millions human lives, Ethnic cleansing took place in many countries during the German occupation. During World War II, Poland lost every fifth inhabitant. The war took a huge toll on the economy of the region. victorious offensive Soviet army and the defeat brought the countries of the region liberation from the Nazis and at the same time the communists came to power “Stretching across the entire continent from Stettin to Trieste on the Adriatic Sea, an iron curtain descended on Europe. The capitals of the states of Central and Eastern Europe - states whose history goes back many, many centuries - found themselves on the other side of the curtain. Warsaw and Berlin, Prague and Vienna, Budapest and Belgrade and Sofia - all these glorious capital cities, with all their capital residents and with the entire population of the cities and regions surrounding them, fell, as I would call it, into the sphere of Soviet influence. This influence can manifest itself in different forms, but no one can get away from it” - these words of W. Churchill, uttered in the spring of 1946 during the famous Fulton speech in the USA, capaciously reflect the essence of what happened to the CEE countries after the war. The 40-year socialist stage of development of the countries of the region began iron curtain""under the wing" of the victorious eastern neighbor - the USSR.

The Council for Mutual Economic Assistance (CMEA), formed in 1949, became the most important structure for organizing socialist construction in countries that fell into the sphere of Soviet influence. European countries it included Poland, Czechoslovakia, East Germany, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and Albania (withdrew in 1961).

In the wake of the growth of nationalism, Czechoslovakia disintegrated into the Czech and Slovak Republics. Ethnic conflicts flared up in Yugoslavia, which led to the collapse of the country, internecine wars and mass forced migrations among the countries of the former SFRY. Five states were formed on its territory: the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, the Republics, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina,.

In the 1990s all countries of the region were experiencing a deep economic crisis associated with a radical breakdown of the socialist system. Poland was the first to pass the “inflection point”, where already in 1992 growth began economic indicators reflecting priorities market economy(Table 21). In the late 1990s, Hungary and Slovenia entered stable growth. Leading among the Baltic republics. Slower and more painful are the reforms in Slovakia and Romania. In the republics of the former Yugoslavia, the implementation of economic reforms is significantly complicated by political instability and religious-ethnic confrontation.

Today, all CEE countries are building democratic states based on a market economy.

“Eastern Europe is what we are” - so even some 20 years ago a citizen of the USSR could confidently say. Times have changed, but this statement is still not far from the truth: Eastern Europe includes Russia proper, Ukraine and Belarus, and also, depending on the speaker's pan-Slavic views, Moldavia, Bulgaria and Romania. Actually, this division is even more conditional than the division of the rainbow into seven colors: sometimes this term is understood as the countries of the former socialist camp (which means that the Czech Republic, Slovakia, as well as the once constituent parts of Yugoslavia - now six Balkan republics), sometimes go deep into history even further, including here parts of Austria, Hungary, etc.

Eastern Europe

Be that as it may, one thing is indisputable: Eastern Europe is the closest geographically and spiritually to Russia part of the Old World, which, even if it is not on the list of the most popular destinations outbound tourism, but has its own dedicated army of fans. It would not be an exaggeration to say that only a lazy and principled supporter of “real” foreign tourism did not bother to visit the resorts of Crimea. Well, although Belarus does not have a gentle sea and wide beaches, it can offer a real eco-vacation in the green expanses of Central Russia: centuries-old oak forests, a delicious abundance of mushrooms and berries, a variety of game and wild “hunting” animals, lakes, nature reserves, healing mud and mineral waters ... in general, there is a complete "gentleman's set" of a tourist destination.

Eastern Europe is the closest geographically and spiritually to Russia part of the Old World, which, although not on the list of the most popular outbound tourism destinations, has its own dedicated army of fans.

For those who want to “break away” from Russian reality a little more radically and at the same time not go too far to the west, we advise you to pay attention to our distant Eastern European neighbors. In Moldova, for example, in addition to all kinds of eco-baits (dales and villages, forests and fields ...) there is also a very specific result of this very ecosystem - wine, cognac and champagne. It is not surprising that tours "under the degree" fly here simply "with a bang": many wine roads pass through the country, and everyone will be able to choose their own path - in a direct and figuratively- Based on the level of physical and moral preparation. In addition, lovers should definitely get here. national history: so many Jewish and Gypsy memorable places not to be found on the whole planet!

The objects of tourist interest in Bulgaria are Golden Sands (as well as the lesser-known resorts of the Black Sea coast), which have become a byword, plus a remarkable number of mineral springs and other deposits of natural healing “appliances”. Don't forget to grab the well-known bottle of rose oil from the Valley of the Roses. Romania, in addition to the above (beaches, balneology, ecotourism), offers tourists a gloomy but attractive Middle Ages: Transylvania and the castle of the notorious Count Dracula, fortified churches and monasteries and entire ancient cities, as if descended from a medieval engraving.

Among the pleasant "chips" of tourist Eastern Europe are a trifling flight (no more than 2 hours in the air), familiar climate, lack of a language barrier and a completely native, benevolent population. Among other things, it is easy to come to the nearest Eastern European countries by simply driving your own car!
