"New Year Vienna Gala" ("New Year's Concert in Vienna") Johann Strauss Orchestra Vienna. Soloists and choir of the Vienna Opera

"Wiener Capelle Strauss" ("Vienna Strauss Chapel (Orchestra")) was founded by Johann Strauss (1804-1849) in Vienna in 1827, and great composer, "King of the Waltz", Johann Strauss Jr. (1825-1899) came into her possession in 1849 after the death of his father. The "middle brother" Joseph (1827-1870) assumed the post of chief administrator in the "family orchestra" in 1863, after his great brother Johann was appointed to the post of royal "Hofballmusik-Direktor". After Joseph's death in 1870, his younger brother Edward (1835-1916) took over the orchestra.

The "Vienna Chapel of Johann Strauss" served the Strauss family until the end of the legendary dynasty. After the death of the last Edward Strauss, the orchestra temporarily ceased to exist, but in 1977 it was re-created in Vienna as one of the greatest cultural symbols of Austria.
Since 1843, the orchestra's signature style has been suits - red tailcoats and white trousers. The tour of the orchestra triumphantly took place in all the largest halls of that time: in Austria, Germany, England, Great Britain, France, Poland, Russia and the USA. Thus "Wiener Capelle Strauss" was the first world-famous Viennese and European orchestra (long before the emergence of the Vienna Philharmonic, Berlin Philharmonic and London Philharmonic Orchestras), who traveled the entire civilized world of that time under the baton of the legendary composer, violinist and conductor Johann Strauss Jr. He did with dance music what Gershwin later did with jazz: raised it to symphonic heights.

It was in the performance of this orchestra that the world first heard many of Strauss's masterpieces, among them such waltzes as On the Beautiful Blue Danube (1866) and Tales from the Vienna Woods (1868). The orchestra had and still has two unique features - a unique Viennese interpretation of Strauss waltzes and red tailcoats.

These features are still unique for the "Vienna Johann Strauss Orchestra", for the last 30 years the "Vienner Johann Strauss Capelle", in addition to daily concerts in the historic Wiener Kursalon (the famous Concerto Proms founded by the Strauss brothers), in the golden Musikverein and in the Konzerthaus in Vienna, gave a huge number of concerts around the world - about 2.700!

New Year's concerts at the Suntory Hall in Tokyo (in the presence of the Japanese Imperial Family), concerts in Spain, Holland, Germany, Switzerland, Portugal, Italy, Belgium, Greece, the United States (New York, Washington, Los Angeles, Chicago), in South America, China, Thailand, etc. The orchestra is traditionally conducted by the best conductors of the Vienna State Opera "Wiener Staatsoper" and the Vienna state operetta Wiener Volksoper.

Spectators who come to the concert will have great pleasure to hear the world famous waltzes, polkas and excerpts from the Strauss dynasty operettas, performed in a unique Viennese style - as they were once performed for the first time under the direction of Johann Strauss himself and as they were written for the "Viennese Johann Strauss Chapel", to see the orchestra in ceremonial costumes of the Strauss era .

Dear women, we sincerely congratulate you on the upcoming holiday. We wish you good music, good health and real happiness!

We remind you that on March 8, the Vienna Johann Strauss Orchestra will perform in the Great Philharmonic Hall. On March 6, entrance tickets for this concert worth 1,000 rubles appeared at the box office of the BZF.
The Vienna Johann Strauss Orchestra is one of the greatest cultural symbols of Austria. It is no coincidence that this particular orchestra plays at Woland's ball in The Master and Margarita. HISTORY OF THE ORCHESTRA
The super-popular Hollywood pre-war film The Great Waltz, which received an Oscar in 1939, brought the name of Johann Strauss, and at the same time the entire brilliant dynasty of Viennese musicians, to new round popularity: after watching the film, the whole world learned not only that the author of many popular waltzes and polkas was Johann Strauss. The audience of the film was captured by an extraordinary love affair: being a married man, Strauss, at the peak of his popularity and fame, falls in love with opera singer Imperial Theater Karla Donner (played in the film by Milica Korjus), a capricious, spoiled and eccentric beauty who had a huge number of noble admirers.

The legitimate wife decides to fight first, but then nobly gives in for the sake of her husband's happiness. Strauss wanted to leave with Carla for Budapest, but then the singer realized that she could not replace the composer with his wife, full of self-sacrifice, she was not able to protect him as much as her wife does, and had no right to destroy their love. All this takes place against the backdrop of the creation of the waltzes "The Blue Danube" and "Tales of the Vienna Woods", which even today make watching this film with great pleasure. The fate of this tape in Russia is unique: the film was released twice: in 1940 and 20 years later, and each time with great success; in total, the Great Waltz was watched by more than 50 million Soviet viewers.

March 4, 1979 blue screens televisions light up the name of the new musical film " Bat". Shot by Jan Fried based on the eponymous and most famous in the history of the genre operetta by Johann Strauss, the two-part TV movie still pleases with its topical plot today: here is a banker stealing, and an inevitable prison, and intrigues in opera house, and a young seeker of wealth and fame. Yes, and the finale repeats the story of the author of the music of the operetta, Johann Strauss: the banker eventually falls in love with his wife again.

The history of the Strauss family is a bit like an operetta, where the lyrical side by side with the funny, and the tragedy turns into a farce before our eyes: the seven sons of Johann Strauss, the father, who became musicians, fiercely competed with each other; their childhood was overshadowed by the departure of their father from the family; later, as a result of the parents' divorce, the mother and children were left without a livelihood. When Johann Strauss - the son, contrary to the will of his father, receives the right to conduct in the Vienna Magistrate, and his music becomes more and more popular, between father and son flares up real war. And only after the death of Johann Strauss - father in 1849, the musicians of his orchestra unite with the son's orchestra. These are the pages of the history of the creation of the famous Vienna Orchestra Johann Strauss. The birth of this orchestra dates back to 1827. Since 1849, the great son of the founder of the orchestra, the "king of the waltz" Johann Strauss Jr., has taken over the orchestra. The middle brother Josef Strauss assumed the position of chief administrator of the family orchestra in 1863 after his famous brother Johann was appointed to the post of royal master of the balls. The last of the Strauss dynasty, after the death of Joseph, the orchestra was led in 1870 by the youngest of the brothers, Edward. Since 1843, the signature style of the orchestra has been suits - red tailcoats and white trousers. The tour of the orchestra triumphantly took place in all the largest halls of that time in Austria, Germany, Great Britain, France, Poland, Russia and the USA. Thus, the Vienna Strauss Chapel was the first world-famous Viennese and European orchestra touring around the world under the baton of the legendary composer, violinist and conductor Johann Strauss Jr. and his brothers.

It was in the performance of this orchestra that the world first heard many musical masterpieces, the authorship of which belongs to the representatives of the great Strauss dynasty.

Almost a hundred years later, in 1977 the Strauss Orchestra was re-established in Vienna as one of Austria's greatest cultural symbols.

Thanks to the ASTV website and personally to Ekaterina Shemyakova, I won two tickets to the Vienna Strauss Philharmonic Orchestra in the competition (thank you very much, by the way, Katenka!). I gave them to my parents, and I bought myself an additional ticket. And then came October 30, we are in the Congress Hall of the "Capital".

I must say, I heard a lot about this orchestra and especially about its conductor Andres Dick, who often "plays" with auditorium. Therefore, I looked forward to enjoying not only the music, but also the proposed show.

And my expectations were justified.

At the beginning of the first part, the works of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart sounded iii! - "Farewell Symphony" by Haydn, during which the musicians leave the stage one by one. The spectacle caused at first a bewildered silence, then chuckles, and finally laughter in auditorium when Andres Dik was left to conduct two violinists.

After this relaxing, entertaining note, others followed: the polka "In the Pavlovsk Forest" by Johann Strauss. In it, the conductor manipulated the instrument that emitted the call of the cuckoo, and soon the whole hall, at his beckon, shouted with pleasure in the right places "Ku-ku!" And some, having played out, even "Ku-ka-re-ku!" and "Chirik-chirr!", which did not spoil at all musical composition. At the end of it, in addition to barking, grunting and other things, even the trumpet cry of an elephant sounded!

The conductor constantly involved the audience in the performance, and even attracted the girl to participate with musical instrument- clapperboard.

Between such invigorating works sounded simply immortal classics - "Morning Mood" from the opera "Peer Gynt" by Edvard Grieg, Hungarian dances by Brahms and Barcarolle by Jacques Offenbach.

The second section consisted only of the works of Johann Strauss. With bated breath, I waited that this time I would accompany the comic polka "Thunder and Lightning" (if anyone remembers, the contest question was just on this topic). There was no umbrella in the conductor's hands, but there were still effects that stunned the audience))))

And in conclusion, the magnificent Andras Dik pleased the audience with another game with the audience. And the audience did not disappoint him: the orchestra and its manipulator were given a standing ovation, shouts of "Bravo!" rushed from all over the hall, the orchestra did not let go of the stage. I received incomparable pleasure and beat off my palms.

Naturally, it was not without fly in the ointment. The Congress Hall of the "Capital" does not have an inclined floor, so the spectators sitting in front obscure the view. I was lucky: I saw an empty seat next to the aisle a couple of rows closer to the stage, and no one came to it. Programs costing 300 rubles did not give any information about either the orchestra or the conductor, but only listed the works. And this is at a considerable cost of tickets! Well, and our beloved Sakhalin spectators, who manage to be late for a concert for half an hour or more, break down the rows after the end of the intermission and partially rushed to the exit of the hall with the musicians still standing on the stage. Basically, it was the youth. Well, not all.

Nevertheless, the impression of the concert remained magnificent. I think the Vienna Strauss Philharmonic Orchestra will still visit us on tour. I recommend with all my heart!
