Music has always been the main thing in my life. Music above all

Amazing concert!

Hello friends!
On September 15, I attended a concert of the Central Concert Exemplary Orchestra. ON THE. Rimsky-Korsakov of the Russian Navy, which was dedicated to the 175th anniversary of N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov. And it was great!
At the very beginning of the concert, the conductor of the orchestra Alexei Karabanov told us that we were lucky))) The fact is that in concert program three compositions for solo instruments with a brass band, written by N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov especially for the consolidated orchestra of the Kronstadt port - and these works are rarely played all at once at one concert! Usually one or two, but not three! That's it!
You know, I sincerely admire musicians who play wind instruments - how powerful their lungs are, so that they can blow into the pipe for five or more minutes without interrupting for a breath! And the breaths of the musicians are very short! And not just blow, but it's so amazing to play such complex works! Fantasy is simple!
When the orchestra played Capriccio Espagnol (Op. 34) I imagined it like this: the Spanish coast Atlantic Ocean, warm, quiet summer night, bonfire and beautiful girl dancing kachucha with castanets. Even the sound of the ocean was heard!
Thanks to the symphonic suite for orchestra "Scheherazade" we were transported to Cairo. Arabian tales, a thousand and one nights, Sinbad and his ship, genies and the mysterious east and a violin that lures you into this fairy tale. All this was at the concert!
You know, it was a good end to the week and just an amazing evening in the company beautiful music and magical performance!
I thank the Central Concert Exemplary Orchestra. ON THE. Rimsky-Korsakov of the Russian Navy for such a magical evening!

Excellent program at the best concert venue in Moscow

The great Russian composer Nikolai Andreevich Rimsky-Korsakov was the first inspector of the Russian naval bands, he came from a noble family of Rimsky-Korsakovs, famous for their traditions of service in the navy.
In 1856, his father gave Nikolai, who dreamed of traveling, to Morskoy cadet corps. Having moved to St. Petersburg, Rimsky-Korsakov met Cui, Mussorgsky and other composers who were members of the Balakirev circle, Balakirev himself actively helped young composers. It was from this moment that the life and fate of the composer was divided into two - the fleet and music. He will write music on sea expeditions and try to find a way to "depict with the help of orchestral colors sea element". In 1971, he became a professor at the St. Petersburg Conservatory, and after that he left military career for good.

It is no coincidence that the name of Rimsky-Korsakov was given to the remarkable Orchestra of the Russian Navy in the year of his 150th birthday. This wonderful orchestra consists of 36 musicians and plays under the baton of a conductor
Captain 1st rank Karabanov Alexey Alekseevich. The orchestra often performs with compositions from Rimsky-Korsakov, but the concert held on September 15 in Great Hall Moscow Conservatory. All three concerts for brass band written by the composer for the consolidated orchestra of the Kronstadt port, as well as famous works"Spanish Capriccio" and "Scheherazade". I liked the concert very much!

great concert

September 15 in the Great Hall of the Conservatory Central Concert Exemplary Orchestra. ON THE. Rimsky-Korsakov The Russian Navy under the direction of Alexei Karabanov presented a concert dedicated to Rimsky-Korsakov, a composer whose name is forever inscribed in the history of Russian and world music and in the history of the Russian fleet.

Concerts of this group are held at different venues, but in the Conservatory they are especially good.
The classic interior contributes to a special atmosphere, St. Andrew's flags on the stage seem to bring sea freshness to the hall.

Before the concert and during the intermission, one could notice the increased interest of the audience in the film "Slavic Composers" - group portrait Russian, Polish and Czech composers written by I.E. Repin in 1871-72 by order of the Moscow businessman A.A. Porokhovshchikov. Rimsky-Korsakov is shown here in military uniform.

In the first part, three concertos for a brass band were performed, written by the composer for the consolidated orchestra of the Kronstadt port. It is interesting and strange that these works are rarely performed together, although they sound very harmonious together. I was pleased with the bright and energetic "Spanish Capriccio". The apotheosis of the concert was the famous symphonic suite "Scheherazade", performed in the second part.

The plot for "Scheherazade" was taken from the book "1000 and 1 night" which is based on the folklore tales of India, Iran and the Arab peoples.
In the 19th century, composers willingly used oriental themes in their works. We can recall "Khovanshchina" by Mussorgsky, "Ruslan and Lyudmila" by Glinka. But it was Rimsky-Korsakov who, turning to a difficult and provocative primary source, especially deeply touched, felt and imagined the East, embodying its finest and intricate nuances in a symphonic suite.

Rimsky-Korsakov was a sailor, participated in the round-the-world sea voyage and was able, with the help of music, to perfectly reveal the images of the sea.
Strings and wind instruments they tell about the rebelliousness and beauty of the water element, and about the characters of the heroes - strong and original, lyrical and playful.
And how is Scheherazade represented? The image of the charming narrator is a solo violin, enchanting, gentle, insinuating, tying the whole story together.

A special and ingenious look at oriental tale and the sea element were appreciated both by the composer's contemporaries and future generations of music lovers.
Interestingly, variations on Rimsky-Korsakov's "Scheherazade" are often used by musicians of various genres, including rock and jazz.

We enjoyed the classics and sincerely thank the Navy Orchestra for the pleasure.

Worth going!

This Sunday (September 15), after a long summer holidays my cultural leisure began again. And again, music, as an avid music lover, I could not pass by this event. Firstly, 175 years since the birth of Nikolai Andreevich Rimsky-Korsakov, and, secondly, the 20th anniversary festival"Admiralty Music". And after almost 8 months, again the Great Hall of the Conservatory. And it so happened that for the first time in for a long time My husband and I went to the concert together.
First, I want to note the Great Hall of the Conservatory, as always, very cozy and atmospheric. You immediately understand that you have found yourself in a place where music is loved: everyone around is very well-mannered, they will always prompt and help when contacting, and the aura is also different. It's always nice to be here. The hall itself is considered the most beautiful and famous concert hall Moscow, which hosts the world-famous Competition. P.I. Tchaikovsky. The acoustics are amazing. Therefore, I strongly recommend visiting the hall at least once, and you can even with a child. Acquaintance with the beautiful should begin in a symbolic place.
So, on September 15, the opening concert of the new season “Offering to N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov”, dedicated to the 2nd anniversaries. The program consisted of 2 parts and included itself: 1st part - compositions for clarinet, oboe and trombone with a brass band, "Spanish Capriccio", 2nd part - Suite "Scheherazade", op. 35.
The game was amazing, and yes, it was immediately noticeable that the music was written in the best naval traditions. Perhaps not everyone knows that Rimsky-Korsakov graduated from the Naval Corps and devoted several years to naval service.
Separately, I want to note the well-coordinated and organic playing of the Central Concert Exemplary Orchestra named after. ON THE. Rimsky-Korsakov of the Russian Navy under the leadership of Alexei Karabanov. And also to thank Alexei Alekseevich for the amazing skill of the conductor and the mastery of the orchestra. It was very pleasant to watch the immediate reaction of the musicians to any gesture of the conductor. I think this is very revealing and dismantles not only the skill of the participants in the process, but also the trusting relationships within the orchestra.
Sunday evening was wonderful and I wholeheartedly advise you to visit the Great Hall of the Conservatory and listen to the wonderful playing of the Central Concert Exemplary Orchestra. ON THE. Rimsky-Korsakov.

Now it's not like that at all. The brass band consists of experienced musicians, and the repertoire includes various beautiful works, including the direct patron of the orchestra.
I personally was especially interested in the first part of the concerto, in which three concertos for different wind instruments were performed: clarinet, oboe and trombone. As you know, N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov personally learned to play the flute, clarinet and trombone, and to help himself, including as a performer, he wrote virtuoso compositions for them. One thing is a pity: the concerts are short, they don't sound long.
Sergey Petrov soloed on the clarinet. I couldn't tell if he was holding a French or a German clarinet, but the instrument sounded good.
The clarinet concert piece continued with the oboe concerto, an instrument with complex nature and nasal, recognizable timbre. (duduk is a relative of the oboe) Vladimir Vyatkin played it. And wonderful.
These were all woodwinds. The trombone is brass, and it commands the respect of the public. Shine of metal, size, retractable stage, which the soloist (in this concert he played outstanding musician Erkin Yusupov) moves back and forth. Effective, to say the least.
The conductor of the orchestra is also a very impressive figure.
Captain of the 1st rank, tall, lean Aleksey Karabanov once played the clarinet, by the way, he has a real military bearing, a blog in livejournal and a mustache almost like Salvador Dali's. Almost. Within the limits of masculine elegance.
Male orchestra members look at the leader attentively, modestly, almost timidly, apparently, discipline. Only the violin is held independently. Pyotr Fedotov smiles arrogantly, intones the famous Scheherazade melodies low, and enjoys his work. We like it too. The music of this suite is very famous and very beautiful. I love the part with the sea and Sinbad's ship. So the Turks appreciate, it seems, since they took this music as a soundtrack to the TV series “A Thousand and One Nights”. Painting, not music, Aivazovsky is resting.
In addition to wind and violin, they play the harp, percussion (one! And huge timpani cymbals rose into the air, next to it a pale nymph shines with glasses and knocks on a triangle) and double bassists support all this fundamentally, without them in any way.
I'm sure it would sound even more inspiring in the parks, and pleasant feelings are guaranteed in the Great Hall.
