The group was formed in early 1982 by three college comrades: Morten Harket (he became the leader of the band and vocalist), Magne Furuholmen (keyboards) and Pal Vaaktaar (this guy got the guitar). When the Norwegian band A-ha won back final concert farewell tour Ending on A High Note - Farewell Tour at Oslo Spectrum in December 2010, it was absolutely clear that any joint activities groups in the future.

Unexpectedly for everyone in March 2015, A-ha announced that they were getting back together to play a concert on the 30th annual festival Rock in Rio. Following the announcement of participation in the festival, the band announces the release of a new studio album this fall, as well as a major international tour in 2016.
