Ivanna, tell us what prompted you to take part in the MasterChef project?

I always really liked cooking, and when I saw the news about the casting for MasterChef, I immediately decided that I wanted to try. But because of a small child, the first season was out of the question, and since now the second child is already a year and a half old, and the first is three, my husband sent me - he told me to go to my dream. And while I'm on the project, he's with the kids. Before the project, I was engaged exclusively in family and children, I was a housewife. “Masterchef” for me is an opportunity to break into people.

On the show, I miss the kids so much that I constantly make mistakes in the competition because of this. My children are now discovering life for themselves, but I don’t see it all and it hurts. Every day I hang out with them on the phone for a long time, they understand everything, they see me on TV, but that doesn’t make it any easier.

What impression did the jury members make on you?

They are very good, and not only on camera, but also behind it. They are real and communicate with us, even when there are no operators nearby, they are interested in us. It is very interesting to communicate with them! Hector is the most demanding during trials, I fear his criticism the most.

What seemed the most difficult part of the project?

Cooking worms! I am still afraid of them. We had a task to cook something from fusion cuisine and use special worms for this. I, as always, came up with a sweet dish. But cooking with worms is so disgusting, and you had to take a whole bowl, then cut it up and cook it. And then eat some more!

During the preparation, Zhanna Badoeva helped me - both I and she were disgusted, but when she was around, it became easier, her support was felt. In general, the dish turned out to be quite good - the worms taste sweetish, like a delicate cream. Although it is difficult to separate the taste of the dish from the picture that you see before your eyes, when you know what it is made of. After this competition, the competition with frogs, which had to be caught and cooked, is no longer worth it. They were just flowers!

Ivanna, when did you start cooking?

I started cooking seriously at the age of 20, when I already had a family. Once on a holiday - my mother-in-law's birthday - I set a large table, I cooked everything myself. Many guests came and everyone praised me very much, they said that the dishes were “you just lick your fingers”. From that moment on, I started to get serious about cooking. Although for the first time at the stove I became 9 years old, then I baked a very delicious cookies My girlfriends used my recipe for a long time. I've always been inventing things in the kitchen.

What do you like to invent the most?

Cakes! I really like sweets, and it doesn’t matter what it is - cookies, pie, cake or cake. I love not only cooking, but also eating such dishes! For example, if there is a choice between homemade pasta with exotic fish in an interesting sauce and a piece of Napoleon, I will choose the cake.

Given your sweet tooth, how do you manage to keep such a good figure?

If today I eat something high-calorie, then tomorrow I will try to limit myself in food, I can not eat at all all day. It probably helps to keep the balance.

For what purpose did you go to the MasterChef project?

Firstly, I want to learn how to cook well, to realize myself. If I win the project, I will have the opportunity to study at the best culinary school in Paris, Le Cordon Bleu. And in the future I will be able to provide for my family, help my husband in this. “MasterChef” is a push for me, I will try to use it to the fullest! I want to specialize in baking, this is my direction.

What do you expect from the project?

The main thing is that I do not expect any living creatures in our show again, worms or frogs, I think that was already enough. Oddly enough, but I would like to receive such a task on MasterChef in order to overcome my fear of heights. And I also want to get as many tasks related to baking as possible. Give me 20 minutes and I'll fry, scald and invent!

Ingredients: 20 g flour, 60 g cane sugar, 2 tbsp. l. powdered sugar, vanilla, 2 eggs, 100 g of chocolate and 150 g of Mascarpone cheese.

Cooking method: melt chocolate and 100 g of Mascarpone in a steam bath, but so that it does not boil. I will tell you something that I have not told anyone, - began our conversation Ivanna Mironenko. - As a child, sometimes I had nothing to eat. It seemed that from hunger I would eat anything. And one day I decided to fry earthen spiders, which I caught on plasticine. I put them in a jar - I wanted to fry them later. When I opened it, a hefty furry spider jumped on my face. Then for the first time my heart seized ... After that, I'm even afraid to pick up a worm. When I see some insects, cockroaches, I shake - I remember those spiders ... As a child, I learned to put loops for catching hares, which I then cooked younger sister and brothers. She didn’t eat this meat herself - she felt sorry for the animals, she was very worried that she had to do this. Somehow I got a pregnant hare. I realized this when I was already butchering it and saw rabbits in my stomach ... Since then I can’t kill anyone. I practically do not eat meat, so during competitions, when it was necessary to catch and cook the frogs that were brought to the studio, or the snail, I was horrified. Woke up all the experiences and fears of childhood.

Despite this, you entered the top five cooks. If we managed to overcome the fear of snails, we could go further.

- You don't communicate at all?

I call her, congratulate her on the holidays, but she does not, even on the birthday of her grandchildren. It hurts me. Yes, I have a family - husband, children, mother-in-law. But after all, my mother should be the closest person, even if she left me in childhood ...

They said that because you had to take care of your younger brothers and sister, you didn’t even finish school ...

I didn't study very well, that's true. But I mastered nine classes. At school, my sister and I were very bullied by classmates, because we did not have notebooks, books, pens. We just couldn't buy them. At the age of 15, I went with a 30-year-old neighbor to load cereals at night. It was necessary to fill two KamAZ trucks, 15 tons each. For one car, the loader received 15 hryvnias. I downloaded one, and the second I could not. Came home at 2 am...

Mom drank a lot. She could disappear from home for several months, leaving us alone. She was not deprived of parental rights, so we were not taken to a boarding school. Frankly, I even wanted this. After all, there would be no need to think about where to get food for yourself and your younger sister and two brothers. When my mother left us for the first time, one was still a preschooler, the other was a first grader. We also have an older sister, but her mother kicked her out of the house at 13. Seeing that we were left alone, my sister cried terribly. I told her that for a week we had no food, we went to the woods and looked for mushrooms under the snow. We were starving... Neighbors sometimes slandered us that we were stealing. But I never allowed myself or the younger ones to take someone else's. She asked her sister to take the boys to their father, who lived in a neighboring village. My sisters and I don't know anything about our father... In general, the car in which my sister was traveling with Sergey and Andrey had an accident. For several days I did not know who was injured, whether everyone was alive. Horror! Then my sister returned and said: the car rolled over eight times, but everyone remained intact.

What is your current relationship with your sisters and brothers?

My younger sister now also lives in Zaporozhye, not far from me. We are very close to her. But I haven't seen my brothers for many years. Called up with the elder, replenished his telephone bill, handed over parcels. Sergey is now 20 years old. He recently got into strange story, he was arrested. But there are witnesses, evidence that he is not guilty. When I began to find out what was happening, it turned out that my brother was not in any pre-trial detention center, not in any prison. We don't know what's wrong with him. I hope to get on the “Battle of Psychics” program so that these people tell me if Serezha is alive, where to look for him. I really want to bring the whole family together.

“My husband recognizes my dish from hundreds of others like it”

In one of the competitions, when the relatives of the project participants had to guess what close person, your husband said: "I will recognize Ivanna's pilaf from a million." And I wasn't wrong. And what else will he determine unmistakably?

Borscht, chicken wings with red sauce, and all my desserts. I am 100% sure of this. My mother-in-law also cooks at home, but I constantly change something in the recipe, add new ones, so both my husband and friends always find out what exactly I cooked. Probably, these taste notes are guessed. My children are very picky: I want it, I don't want it ... They like pastries and desserts more. Together with them we make a homemade "Barney". Cooking butter sponge cake with condensed milk and custard. Just do not make it exclusively on the yolks - it's tasteless. Use a whole egg. You can also add some mascarpone cheese to the cream. I pour half of the dough into special molds-bears, then squeeze out the custard with mascarpone from the pastry bag, and on top - the second half of the dough. I add cocoa to part of the dough and squeeze ears, noses, and mouths out of this chocolate dough. No matter how many Barneys we bake, they all get eaten.

- When did you start cooking?

At the age of 17, she got a job as a cleaner and dishwasher in a cafe in the village where she lived. But at the same time I watched how the cooks cook, helped them. Somehow I baked Easter cakes for Easter. Made over 100 of them. different sizes and... sold. I liked the result. Soon I moved to Zaporozhye. There she found a job as a waitress, helping the cooks whenever possible. When I baked something and brought it to try, I was praised.

- Who initiated your participation in MasterChef?

When the first season was set, I was pregnant, so I didn’t even try to get on the show. Just watched it on TV. I filled out the questionnaire for the second season after I received the approval of my mother-in-law. The youngest son was then only a year old. The mother-in-law said that she would sit with the children, and I should try my hand.

- Going to the show, did you dream of winning?

At that time, I knew almost nothing to cook, except for desserts. I could bake "Napoleon", some kind of cake according to the recipe, but nothing more. I really wanted to learn everything. Also, change your life. After the bullying that I endured as a child, I wanted to prove to everyone: I CAN. To be honest, I was not sure that they would take me on the show. But then they called from the TV channel and invited me to a casting in Kyiv. I was so confused then that I didn’t even understand whether I needed to take food with me to cook there, or whether it was necessary to bring a dish already ... I thought for a long time what to choose for casting, rummaged through the entire Internet. I began to study in detail the recipes for fondant and brownie cakes. I decided to combine them, add mascarpone cheese, which I didn’t know anything about then. I put all the components by eye, not following the recipe. I could not believe that these desserts need so little flour - only 20 grams! I hammered everything with flour - and the dough did not fit. Only after several attempts I got the desired result. We didn't have a lot of money back then. To go to Kyiv, they borrowed from whomever they could. Yes, and my “training” at home was not cheap - I had to buy high-quality chocolate, mascarpone. But at home everyone was supportive, they understood how important it was for me.

“Right on the street I asked people: “Let me into your kitchen, borrow your stove for an hour”

In general, I went to Kyiv for a casting with a full suitcase of products, Ivanna continues. - Hundreds of people gathered at the appointed place, discussing who brought what. Turns out you should have come with already ready meal. The organizers suggested to me: "Let's record only interviews with you, and then we'll see." I refused: “No, no, I don’t want that. There are no easy ways." And she left. I think: “What should I do, go home? With the same products, with the same debts, in the same life? And miss your chance? I stood for about twenty minutes and decided: I’ll go ask people - maybe someone will let me into my kitchen? As they say, demand does not hit in the nose. First I went to cafes, supermarkets - where there is a stove. Did not work out. Then I went down the hallways. I dialed numbers on intercoms, asked people leaving the door if it was possible to come in, explained everything to them. What did not hear in response!

- And what did you say: “Let me into your kitchen - I need to cook a dish for the casting of the MasterChef show?

Yes exactly. To be honest, if I had been approached with such a request, I would not let anyone in either. As a result, she ended up near the supermarket and turned to passers-by: “Borrow your stove for an hour! I will cry!" But no one reacted. A time is running. I'm almost crying already. In general, I clung to a man who was standing nearby, literally begging him to let me into his kitchen. How embarrassing! Never in my life did I even ask for a piece of bread, but here ... As a result, he took pity on me, and my wife allowed me to bring "some crazy woman" on the phone. They then even took me to the casting. Good people We are still in touch with them.

I showed my dish to the jury and went to the station to go home. And the tickets were only 500 hryvnia. I don't have that kind of money. Conductors without a ticket do not want to take. And I just watch how trains leave for Zaporozhye one after another. It was the worst day of my life. I cursed everything. But I was lucky - literally three minutes before departure last composition There was a man who handed over the ticket. I gave all the money I had for him and jumped on the train that was already leaving! I sat for two hours, coming to my senses. My legs were so tired and swollen that I couldn't take off my boots.

- After such tests, I probably didn’t want any show anymore ...

I understood that I had few chances, but I still waited for a call from the TV channel. And, imagine, I missed it when I was busy with the children! It’s good that later they sent out SMS messages: “You made it to a hundred.” I was happy! It turns out that there were 13 thousand applicants! But the judges liked my dish. That's when I had an incredible desire to participate in the show! And everything was cool and cool until I got on the potato. It was necessary to clean and cut into strips, it seems, a whole ton. I still can't look at her.

- After the project, did you become a chef?

I was offered a job in a French restaurant in Kyiv, but I refused. The fact is that we cannot yet rent an apartment in the capital with the whole family, otherwise we will have to pay all our earnings for housing and a nanny. In addition, Pavel Sipatin, a participant in the first season, offered me interesting work in Zaporozhye. The owner of the restaurant at first wanted to name the new establishment very funny - “Pepper-German-sausage”. As a result, the "Fed Wolf" was opened. We already have regular customers. The restaurant has a shop where we immediately prepare a takeaway dish chosen by the visitor.

- Do they recognize you?

Often. Sometimes I hear: “Oh! Are you alive?!” It turns out that even men watch MasterChef. To be honest, I still don't believe that all this happened to me. I participated in the show, I was recognized as a chef... I still can't do everything, but this is due to my insecurity, lack of knowledge.

- It's hard to believe that you learned how to cook right during the project...

But it is so. When I came to the show, I didn’t know how to do much. At home, I cooked everything very simply. She called her dishes “Kolgosp Chervone Dislo”. You know, when I wanted to cook something new, I had no place to read the recipe, no one to ask. I remember my first soup. She threw pasta into the cold water, and then potatoes, meat ... Both by participating in the show, and by the fact that she almost reached the final, she proved a lot, first of all to herself. Also, I think those who once laughed at me now regret it.

During our conversation, you never once uttered the word "kick", which became your " calling card» during the project.

And at work they are surprised that I don’t pronounce it, - Ivanna laughs. - I do not swear at all. And I myself can’t understand how it happened that I regularly used it on the show. Apparently due to emotional stress. Believe me, this is not my favorite word.
