Childhood and youth
Alexander Panayotov was born on July 1, 1984 in Leningrad. Not really! I'm preparing the show "The Illusionist" for the release of a new album. And the idea was born like this: at one time I had to put on a top hat for one performance, and so it remained with me - it hung on the wall. All the time caught my eye. And one day I look at him and think: why not a show?

You, probably, have mastered some tricks in such a way?
Got it, of course. But it’s not so much tricks that are important here, but working out difficult moments: when I “suddenly” take off, when I jump so that I find myself on a huge cube, when I turn over and how - vertically or horizontally. I'll even sing on my head.
Judging by your workload, you don't seem to get any rest at all?
Well, yes, I invent costumes, go to rehearsals, to magicians - it takes a lot of time. But I love to relax. I would love to go on vacation. Especially now it's summer. I dream of visiting Africa and Antarctica. And if the first is still somehow real, then none of my acquaintances wants to go to Antarctica. And I think it's romantic and cool. Therefore, apparently, we will have to limit ourselves to Turkey or Spain.
They say you recently got rich...
Oh, are you talking about that story with the exchanger? Yes, this was the first time in my life. I went to change a hundred dollars. But instead of 2500 rubles, they gave me 40 thousand rubles. Moreover, I did not count and for some reason thought that they gave me hundreds of bills. And when I drove off and already started spending money, I look - but they still do not end. But there was no strength to return to the exchanger, and no desire. (Smiling.)
By the way, what do you spend money on?
I spend on an apartment, on food, on entertainment. Going to the cinema, cafes, shopping, buying licensed CDs. In general, everything, like everyone else. I never save money. Here, they say, you need to earn money for an apartment ... Yes, I will never save up for it, this is ridiculous! I'm not Philip Kirkorov yet - the Bentley hasn't even earned a mansion. Yes, for me it is not important. The main thing is that everyone is alive and healthy.
Tell us how the songs are distributed among you, the former populists. Where do you get material from?
Yes, they are not distributed. We choose our own songs. The producer says - if you like it, then we take it. Now each of us has begun a period of “self-management”. All former members"People's Artist" as if pulled away from each other. But this is understandable.
Interestingly, is there a spirit of rivalry between you, one might say, the “children” of your producer?
To be honest, with Lesha Chumakov we have always had and will have some kind of competition - we work in the same style. But with Lesha Goman - no. He has a different style. True, there is an unspoken rivalry in the category of who goes abroad to work more often. By the way, I recently performed in New York.
Few Russian open spaces, decided to conquer the Americans?
Actually, it was my old dream - to visit this city. A few years ago, before coming to Moscow, I had a girlfriend in Kyiv. And we decided to go to New York. The flight is about to start, and then a casting for the “People's Artist” was announced. I went and did not lose. And she flew to America. And it's good to live there too. We met with her again, talked ...
As for what you have achieved in your work, we all already see, but what can you say about matters of the heart? Did you find the only one?
So far I'm only hunting, and perhaps someone is hunting me. Don't know. (Smiling.)
So you're an unemployed guy right now?
Yes, I'm alone. More precisely, I am constantly in love with someone, and always in “busy”. I just have some kind of crown of celibacy. Someone says that I just have too high requirements for girls. But there is no way to change them.
Are you a romantic person?
Yes, I'm a romantic. I love giving flowers as gifts. But despite this, I can not find my love. I feel like I'll be looking for it for a long time. And it is doubly difficult for a popular person to find his other half. People react strangely when they recognize me as an artist. It even scares some people away.
At least the fans aren't scared, are they?
No, you can't get rid of these. (Laughs.) They are smart, I love them very much. Not intrusive, do not get.
