A short story about the fathers. Lesson of extracurricular reading based on the story of N.N.

She was born on February 17, 1930 in the village of Kibra, Sysolsky District, Komi Autonomous Region (now the village of Kuratovo, Sysolsky District, Komi Republic). In 1946 she graduated high school in her native village, in 1949 - Syktyvkar Preschool Pedagogical School No. 2. She worked as a teacher in orphanages. Lived in the GDR for five years. In 1962 she moved to the city of Syktyvkar. Since 1971 - literary consultant of the Union of Writers of the Komi ASSR.

In 1964 Kuratova wrote her first short story "Appassionata". Then more significant works appeared - “Maryushka” and “The Tale of the Fathers”. Nina Kuratova is the first female Komi writer who turned to the theme of the Great Patriotic War.

One after another, collections of short stories and short stories by the folk writer are published: “Radeitana, musa” (“Dear, beloved”, 1974), “Bobönyan kör” (“The taste of blooming clover”, 1980), “A handful of the sun” (1980), “Ötka pötka (The Lonely Bird, 1985), Vör Gormög (Wild Pepper, 1986). The focus of the writer's attention is the female character, female destinies, the problem of family happiness.

N. Kuratova also writes for children. Works were published as separate books: “Köch gosnech” (“Gift of a hare”, 1968), “Let's get to know each other and be friends” (1984), “Literated Petya and arrogant Lyuba” (2005).

Currently, N. Kuratova is actively working, published in magazines.

Nina Nikitichna (Nikitievna) Kuratova - the first professional Komi writer, was born on February 17, 1930 in the village of Kibra (now the village of Kuratovo) of the Sysolsky district of the Komi Autonomous Region. During the war years, she worked on a collective farm, the Kuratovsky orphanage. After graduating from school in 1946, she entered the Syktyvkar Pedagogical College. From 1949 to 1951 she worked as a kindergarten teacher in Seregovo and Ukhta, then lived with her family in the German Democratic Republic for six years. After returning to her homeland, she again entered a pedagogical job, was a teacher in kindergartens in Inta, Vorkuta, Syktyvkar. Since 1972 - a consultant in the Union of Writers of the Komi Republic. In 1978 she was admitted to the Writers' Union of the USSR.

The path of N. N. Kuratova in literature began with the composition of poems and fairy tales for young pupils, and in 1972 her first book was published - a collection of stories for children - “Koch gosnech” (A hotel from a hare). Currently, Nina Nikitichna has hundreds of children's works published on the pages of the Bee Kin magazine and in separate collections. A sign of the all-Union recognition of N. Kuratova as a children's writer was her book "Let's Get Acquainted and Be Friends" (Moscow, 1984), published by the authoritative publishing house "Children's Literature".

The first "adult" work of N. N. Kuratova appeared in print in 1964. The story “Appassionata” in the journal “Vojvyv kodzuv” (Northern Star) introduced readers to a new author, but already possessing his own literary style of writing: confessional narration, highlighting the inner experiences of the characters, attention to values Everyday life person. With particular force, these features common to all the work of N. N. Kuratova were expressed in her first story “Batyas yylys vist” (The Tale of the Fathers, 1969), in which the theme of war is revealed through a dramatic collision of the personal fate of the heroes who managed to save love in an extreme situation and purity of human relations.

An important stage in the work of N. Kuratova was the book "Radeitana, musa" (What is loved, nice, 1974) and "Bobonyan kor" (Taste of clover, 1983). The author affirms in them simple truths, but necessary for the spiritual "economy" of his contemporary: that evil is powerless before good, that one must live humanly with people, that the family is the main nutritious soil on which human happiness grows. Central characters most of the works in these collections are women. The writer compares the actions of her heroines with folk ideas about a woman as the guardian of the family, the bearer of the age-old worldly wisdom. It is no coincidence that one of the key heroines of N. Kuratova - grandmother Tatiana (the story "Bobonyan kor") - is considered by those around her to be "todys", that is, knowing, in charge. I groped my way to the table by the window, sat down as if I were watching TV. I don't even see the photo, although it's on the table in front of me. That it didn’t appear by the way and then walked, traveled around the world - was it the way? .. However, maybe because she didn’t tell that it was scary: after all, the father, perhaps because of this photograph and ... Although ... What if we made it all up?

When I began to remember myself well, there were already four of us with my father and mother. In those days - not a lot, but not a little. And all four are girls. White-headed, strong, but - only girls. I am the oldest. I remember well how my mother gave birth to the fourth daughter. I ran out onto the porch and shouted joyfully to my girlfriends, boasting to the whole street:

- And we have a little one! And we have a little one!

And I remembered how the women, chatting nearby, seemed to brush aside my joy, growled displeasedly, and they don’t give a damn that I hear them:

- This Vaska in Anna seems to be a healthy man, but he can’t make a guy!

More than once I later heard how my father was called in the eyes, chuckling, a scammer. And he answered cheerfully:

“Don’t your sons need brides?” I try for you! Master!

He, of course, wanted to have a son, I saw it. But he loved us girls even more because of this. I remember gently stroking with his huge hand:

- How glorious you are, my little white mushrooms ...

If he walks around the village, we will always be with him: two hang on it, the third is nearby ... Whether he digs potatoes, we are all right there, each with a wooden spatula, the daughter is smaller - the spatula is smaller. Every year my father made brand new blades for us, and they were like a dear gift: “Dad did it!” Whether they cut firewood - again everyone is next to their father: who drags a little wood into the barn, who is stronger - a whole block of wood, and I, the eldest, am allowed to saw, although what kind of sawyer I was, just consider holding on to the handle of the saw ... Three kilometers to the river. My father's knapsack is swaying measuredly in front of me, and I, with my head up, look at her, trying not to fall behind, and so on - until I stumble, I plop. Father will stop, smile, take his hand, and now I am running next to him in the middle of the road, and immediately - how wide in the world! The sun is setting. The riverside meadow is clean, clean and already turning green. But the wind here, in the open, is still cold and angry, you almost suffocate from it. And finally, a twist over the river. Far below, spring wide water boils and boils. It's really cold out here on the slope. The father stops at someone's not quite extinct fire, with the toe of his boot he shifts the scattered firebrands back into the fire.

“Gather what is dry and feed the fire,” he tells me. - And I'll cut down a stake for sack, bark it.

Satisfied, I run along the shore, warm myself, drag and put any miner into the fire, just to burn, and my father is already fastening a brand new white pole to the sack.

- Let `s start? - and suddenly with a sigh: - And why are you Olya, and not Oleksan?

My father looks at me and smiles. His collar is unbuttoned, the sleeves of his quilted jacket are wet, and a lock of blond hair that has come out from under his hat is also wet.

My father took me fishing in the summer. And he also praised - and for quickness, and most importantly - that I'm not afraid of any mosquitoes ... Mother will hear the praise and nod in agreement:

- Yes, she is a good helper, we are growing, thank God!

And shut up and breathe.

Only later, much later, did I understand her sadness: the son, whom the father had been waiting for, was still gone.

- Guy, Annushka, bring your son! - pleadingly put his father's hand on her shoulder, sending her to the fifth birth, and there was so much in his whisper that my child's heart was torn with pity and love for him. With a childish mind, I understood that for some reason the mother did not want to give birth to a boy. And I even seemed to be angry with her for this: well, why doesn’t she want if dad asks! But she was also offended by her father: that he was all a boy and a boy, as if I were not his assistant!

For the sixth birth, I accompanied my mother to the hospital, my father was not at home, I took the grain to the mill. We went out with my mother from the house - everything is fine. But at the hospital porch she suddenly burst into tears.

- Mother! What? Mother! I got scared.

- Again, the girl will jump out. My father... will die of grief!

- And you're a little boy! I say, jabbing my finger at the button on her belly.

She fell silent, calmed down, stroked me:

- And how do you, Vasily, not get bored with something? - the neighbor shouts from behind the fence, either condemning, or envious. The neighbors don't have children, their yard is always quiet.

Near the porch, the father pulls off his boots and shirt, washes his face for a long time and noisily, and finally opens the door to the hut, goes on tiptoe to the hut. Having thrown back the old colorful sundress, under which our brother Vastol sleeps, he looks at him, sleeping, for a long time and seriously, almost without smiling. He will cover, ask his mother quietly:

- Not crying?

- Thank God no! - the mother will answer cheerfully and loudly. Our nannies don't complain!

Mamuk, too, like her father, ruddy from a spring tan, busies herself, light and fast, preparing dinner. Barefooted, in a clean chintz apron, and a chintz scarf of the same kind - she is so festive, as if she is waiting for guests. But she herself is also at work all day, she also just came in, she only managed to feed the baby.

And she herself pulled out a cast-iron with brew from the oven, cut the bread.

It was not customary to invite us to the table twice, everyone sat down quickly. And they ate not somehow, but as if they were doing a job. Only Katya, holding her on his knees, the father will help - so that food does not get past her mouth.

But since Vastol was born, I began to go fishing very rarely - where can you run away from your brother. And then one day ... Well, isn't it a shame that I was not with my father ?! He left one day after dinner... And he returned - only in the morning. Tattered, scratched, her hands are covered in blood, and over her shoulder she is so prickly that it’s scary to approach: her tail drags along the ground behind her father, her head in front to the ground.

- Blessed Christos! - Mom exclaimed in fright, and father smiles, staggering from fatigue.

And there was not a person in our village who would not come to look at the miracle fish.

- Yes, brother ... It's cleaner than that pike. If her mouth is not shut up in time ...

A neighbor before sending was not sitting in his quiet childless house, but with us. And his wife stood at her hedge, silently buried her hand in her hand, her husband's knapsack at her feet ...

Since then, the village has been left without peasants. But life, as before, was different for everyone. At the neighbor’s, you see, in the morning the stove is still not heated, and our mother is already in a hurry from the forest, dragging a full motley of mushrooms: to feed us, so many mouths, we need something! In the evening, almost the whole village is already sleeping, and my mother is bending over at the oil lamp, patching up the linen - the clothes are on fire for all of us, as for the most desperate boys, you will not rejoice.

The first letter from my father came from Vologda, the second from the Volkhov front. He wrote a lot - you need to ask about everyone, bow to everyone, and the handwriting was small. And the paper is bad - not to read with my mother's eyes, it was my dear business. On this occasion, the mother lit a kerosene lamp with glass. And she herself, hushed, next to her. I read it, she nods gratefully and says:

- Come on, paws, one more time. Dear, I have not deprived anyone of a bow. Bored...

I read it again, and my mother, I look, is already dozing, she has been tired for the day.

Mother looked at the card for a long time, sighed that her father had lost weight, then said:

There was a harvest, but my mother hurt her hand so much that the sickle did not hold, she had to carry sheaves. I am here - her first assistant, because Vastol had already risen to his feet, my younger sisters were already busy with him. On that day, we drove home to have lunch for a minute and rushed back to the field. I'm shaking in the middle of the cart, holding on with all my might. Look: the lame Yegor comes out of the Kusprom hut, a tripod on his shoulder.

- Yogoryushko! Oh how you need! - stopped the horse's mother.

- Everyone needs it. There is no material,” the photographer replied sullenly. He, lame, used to often appear in the village with his apparatus, then disappeared, and now again - here he is.

- Cute! Just click once! At least send a son to his father!

- We will find, if one thing ...

- So sit down! - the mother was delighted and turned the cart home. - But, but, Father!

But neither Vastol nor the sisters were in our yard, nowhere nearby, the chicken-guys managed to escape somewhere!

Oh, and the mother was upset:

- Well, isn't it a robbery team? Let's go to the river! Run Olya! And you, Yogorushko, rest a bit, we'll find it now. Drink kvass from the heat!

Mother rushed to look at the nearby houses, I ran to the river and into the nearby raspberries, shouted, called - as if they had fallen through the ground! How could I guess, that's why I didn't find it because I was screaming: in the pea field, our little ones stuffed their bellies, they heard me and hid so that they wouldn't find me.

- Wow! - already almost wailed mother. “Maybe they aren’t even alive?” Well, go somewhere else!

Mom doesn't seem to think about taking pictures anymore; and people gathered in the yard: still, after all, the photographer is from somewhere in the pre-war period! And the old women are here with children in their arms, and the boys, everyone is interested.

And when Yegor got up to leave, one of the grandmothers approached her mother, her granddaughter extended her:

- Yours will not go anywhere, they will come running. And you can take off with mine. Hold on. They are similar to Vastol. Yes, year-olds differ a lot from each other, if they don’t even look alike! It won't show up on the card at all. Send Vasily - joy to him.

Egor was startled:

- Take the boy! And next time I will come - I will definitely take pictures of everyone! I say this with all authority!

Mother and there, and here - well, how is it ?! But there is nothing to do, she grabbed someone else's child. And at the very tears ...

Today the world is pragmatic, the best are in the background human qualities: kindness, compassion, understanding. This is the concern of the Komi writer Nina Nikitichna Kuratova. Her focus is female characters, female destinies, problems of duty and happiness. In her works, the writer claims that happiness is not easy, the path to it lies through trials and pain. It suffices to name such novels and stories of hers: “Poplar with three peaks”, “Taste of clover”, “Lonely Bird”, etc., where the author explores the fate of her heroines.
I bring to the attention of my pupils a touching story by Nina Kuratova “A Handful of the Sun”. Why did you choose this particular story? - main character- our contemporary, Komi girl, radiant, with a subtle sensual nature, giving her kindness free of charge to all those around her. Lidochka is close to my ninth graders with her spontaneity, faith in love, in the possibility of happiness. The plot is perceived with great interest by teenagers: will the groom of our "sunny" heroine be found, will she go after him.
The story begins with a description of the extraordinary purity of fluffy snow. Already with this, the author wants to tell about the exceptional spiritual purity of the girl difficult fate, other heroines of the work.
It is no coincidence that Nina Kuratova tells about an orphanage girl, the heroine has not hardened her soul, has not become isolated, on the contrary, she radiates warmth and is able to love the whole world. The author compares Lidochka with a handful of the sun and strives for every reader not only to feel it, but also to discover these wonderful qualities in themselves.
Having become acquainted with the story "A Handful of the Sun", students themselves determine its moral problems: the struggle between good and evil, love, fidelity and cowardice. Most adolescents are susceptible to other people's grief, injustice, they are convinced: goodness does not die, nobility, love, self-sacrifice, generosity are eternal. Students correctly identify the writer's call: "Hurry to do good deeds!"
I have no doubt that after reading the story, we will be imbued with deep respect for the wonderful heroes who give people light and mercy, we will understand how terrible evil is if we put up with it.

N.N. Kuratova was born on February 17, 1930 in the village of Kuratovo, Sysolsky District of the Komi Republic, into a peasant family. Her childhood coincided with the war. Early left without parents. I studied at school, I had to work at the same time on a collective farm or as a night nanny in an orphanage as a teacher. Working with children fascinated the future writer, she graduated from the Syktyvkar Pedagogical School, worked as a teacher in kindergartens in our cities: Ukhta, Inta, Syktyvkar. Lived in the GDR for five years.
Nina Kuratova began to try the pen at school, but to a serious literary work returned much later. In 1964, her first story, Appassionata, was published in the Northern Star magazine, which received positive reviews from readers and critics.

Then she is sad, but immediately smiled, “well, what do you need a clear sun from behind the clouds.”)

Why do you think the story is called "A Fistful of the Sun"? Is it only Lidochka that radiates warmth of soul, which N. Kuratova compares with a handful of the sun? (Bright, sincere images in the story are Anna Stepanovna, and grandmother Varvara, who is so worried about her daughter-in-law and grandchildren, although she herself is weak, and Anna Stepanovna’s son Misha, who will always do good, like his mother. How much depends on the family : kind, decent parents, as a rule, have the same children.) Teacher. Collection of novels and stories by N.N. Kuratova is named the same way as the story, because in it (in the collection) the writer seems to have thrown out from under her own palm and writer's pen many bright, beautiful people with their kindness.
