An article about Andrei Alekseevich Usachov. Andrey usachev and his heroes

Andrey Usachev, famous children's poet and the writer, the author of the well-known "Smart Dog Sonya" and the speech therapy bestseller "Malusya and the Rogopedist", reflects on modern children's books, and how and what to read to children - from toddlers to teenagers.

- Now in many schools children are given a list of literature for the summer. How do you generally feel about such lists?

- I, frankly, rarely emerge from my writing, so what happens in outside world I know bad. And I don't know what our governing state pedagogical bodies recommend to children. I can say in general view. The most important thing in children's reading: so that it is according to age. Each suit must be tailored to fit.

Since we have grown to the concept of " age-related psychology", then it is very important not to disgust children by imposing those books that it is too early for them to read. classic books and were not written for everyone - and certainly not for children. For example, "War and Peace" 90% of the population in tsarist Russia and could not read it, because it was written in five languages, and translations were not supposed at that time. And when we start torturing children with this, they develop such an attitude towards Tolstoy that they never open it afterwards. And why not read "Cossacks" instead, which are quite accessible to children's perception?

— But every parent rests on school curriculum when, for example, in the 7th grade they pass "Taras Bulba" - sometimes, in order to still soften the cruelty of the work, offering a truncated version.

- When they start to delete something from the work - it's bad. Then it is better not to offer it to children at all. Then it is possible - for example, within the framework of the current fight against smoking - to remove the mention that Taras Bulba smoked a pipe and put a lollipop in his mouth. Either the children have matured to some things or not - and there is nothing to hide from them that the Cossacks got drunk and participated in cruel battles, showing only the patriotic part, where they shout "For the Motherland, for the Faith." All these ploys lead to nothing good. I was surprised to hear that one publisher attracted the best French writers retelling classics for young children, such as Crime and Punishment. How do they think of it? I don't know. There is no need to disfigure books, after all, not everyone reads Dostoevsky and adults. It is necessary to give children the "food" that is good for them. We all love olives, but if a 2 year old is fed olives, he will get volvulus.

- Now conscious parents, on the contrary, sometimes try to offer their child books "for growth" - so that they develop faster.

“Don't raise a little genius, raise a little child. Why did you decide if he learns 3 languages as an infant, he will grow up to be a genius? It is important that he becomes a normal person. A person either has a genius - and she wakes up - for some, she wakes up at 40, by the way. For example, Dick King-Smith, who wrote "Pig Babe" - at the age of 50, a person's writing talent woke up. And it's okay. For some, it’s the other way around, talent wakes up very early, like, for example, the French poet Arthur Rimbaud, but at the age of 15 he began to write poetry, and at 21 it was all over.

In my opinion, only stupid parents force a small child to study, demand some unprecedented results from him. Now, unfortunately, the concept of "success" has come to the fore: I want a child that is not kind, not harmonious, not caring, not spiritually developed - I want a successful one. I meet this in discussions on the Web, although in general I rarely go to the Internet - I get too upset. And when I see a bunch of stupid things thrown out - and through them I have to wade through to something worthwhile ... I feel sorry for the time. The Internet is a huge and too wide section of society. To read some responses, to be guided by the opinion of mothers - why should I be guided by their opinion? They are very different - and stupid come across. Let them guide me! I am ready to listen to them like a child, but in the sense of what to read, then I can handle it myself.

"Literature Lists" by Andrey Usachev

So what do you think is the best way for a child to start independent reading?

- Yes, from any simple text. After all, the child is more pleased with what he reads in general, what he succeeds in, and not with the content of the book. There are special unpretentious texts, children's fairy tales, Leo Tolstoy's wonderful little stories - "Philippok" and others.

- We did not know two wonderful authors who are considered classics of world children's literature - this is the already mentioned Dick King-Smith, an amazing writer, he has wonderful fairy tales. And he lived almost until the end of the 20th century. And the second author is also an Englishman, I generally love their prose - this is Roald Dahl. Well, you can die - one fairy tale is better than another! We know him better - thanks to the movie "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", although I didn't really like Tim Burton's version, it's not his best thing. But there was a brilliant film "Matilda" with Danny DeVito, who plays a bad dad, there was a film "Witches". Good films And the books are amazing. Unfortunately, we are not able to produce such.

- Is that why now mainly translated children's books are published?

- If we talk about prose. In general, now people are switching to prose, poetry ... No, it does not die, poetry never dies. It's just that it used to be only for 3-5% of the educated population. And now, against the background of the fact that everyone seems to be educated and literate, poetry should reach everyone. No, she will never excite everyone. But children's literature is different in this - poetry feels very good there. And in our country there is a powerful poetic tradition - and it was, and is. In the West, as far as I know, children's poetry is practically dying out, for various reasons. We, on the contrary, have a poetic power - until now. Poems are held in our schools, they are taught in kindergarten. No country in the world teaches poetry on a mandatory basis - even in the same England. Our children have a habit of repeating poetry - and if we lose it, it will be a great pity, because this is one of the few things that we can be proud of. In our literature, there was, and is, a huge number of beautiful poems.

- Which of the children's poets would you name among your favorites?

- There was a great Zakhoder, a wonderful Valentin Dmitrievich Berestov, there was a wonderful Emma Moshkovskaya, who, unfortunately, is very little known. Mikhail Yasnov, Pyotr Sinyavsky, Sergei Makhotin, Grigory Kruzhkov - even among those living now, next to us - there is a huge number of world-class poets. Another issue is that poetry is poorly converted. Of the young - in my opinion, we have one star - Galya Dyadina from Arzamas. She has her fans, she is already being read everywhere. She came out with a beautiful book that we wrote together - " star book. Poetic astronomy". People cannot distinguish where my poems are and where Galina is - and that's great. There are also stars that are not so bright - Anya Ignatova in St. Petersburg, 2-3 more girls - all are not Muscovites, by the way. Yulia Simbirskaya from Yaroslavl - she has not yet published books, but they already exist on the Internet, on the websites of young writers and poets.

However, sometimes parents complain that there is nothing to read to their children.

- Yes, it happens that mothers, even when they come to the bookstore, do not know what to take. There is something to read. And it is not always necessary to look for something new. For 10 years they did not publish Yuri Koval - he was not there - now they have finally begun to republish.

— What, in your opinion, is the situation with children's publishing houses?

- It's good that competition has arisen - and the children's sector, unlike the adult sector, continues to consistently make a profit. Even traditionally "adult" publishing houses turn to children's literature. Yes, someone produces consumer goods, which is also necessary - because it is cheap, and in the provinces people can afford it. Someone releases more complex books, with some quirks. The market is large, alive, yet not dying - and in our lifetime, death does not threaten it. Of course, I want better, I want more, I want every village to get drawings by, say, Vika Fomina or someone else.

- You travel around the country with performances, meet with children. How is the public changing, are there any differences between children in capitals and provinces?

- In the provinces, children are more alive: they are healthier, rosier, not so exhausted by a large information flow, an abundance of cultural events. They also play football in the yards, which is wonderful. They, of course, also surf the Internet, but they still have nature nearby. I went to Plesetsk - and there are excellent children there, the most ordinary schoolchildren who are brought to a meeting by bus - and who, by and large, don't care about all this poetry.

Asking officials or even mothers about the situation with children's reading is meaningless - you need to ask librarians. In the provincial library, everything is in front of your eyes, and the librarians say: children walk around, read.

But, of course, less than before. In general, if I were a child now, would I just read? Before, there was nothing to do, but now I can go abroad, I can play with friends on the computer, I can find something interesting on the Internet. This is fine. The process of reading is within normal human limits. You understand: the one who reads - he does not work. Here, for example, a steelworker returned after a hard shift - is he supposed to read Dostoevsky? Anyone who has done hard work at least once in their life physical labor, knows that what is needed in the evening is not a book, but a glass of vodka - not to get drunk, but to relieve stress, to let go. If you want the country to stop working, then let everyone read it.

No normal country can be literary-centric. England is the greatest literary power, but not literary-centric nonetheless. Either it is necessary to reach such a level of development that, as in Ancient Rome: slaves work, and citizens lie down and read.

— And what do you read yourself?

- I don’t read much - I don’t have the strength, there is a lot of work. This is just to the topic "why don't people read?" Yes, they do! In general, I read Pelevin, it is interesting to me, it is unexpected. Ulitskaya, Dina Rubina is great writers. From foreign - I like Umberto Eco. Now a lot of classics are popping up that we didn’t know before. Let's say Kipling's brilliant work translated by Grigory Kruzhkov and Marina Boroditskaya - "Pack with magic hills". At the same Kipling, I read "Stalks and Company" - a story about childhood in private school. It was the Strugatskys' favorite thing - they named their Stalker after Stalka. This is how unexpected classics pop up all the time, which I still read - but I don’t chase novelty.

I thought I knew Leskov well, but then I discovered his journalism. I read a whole volume of Platonov's plays. In our country, Platonov is born once in a hundred years, now his eight-volume edition has come out - I'm just dying.

Parenting Teens: "Go Guess"

- Moms of teenagers often face the fact that the child is lazy: "Does not want anything - just have fun."

- Is not new problem. I remember that I myself wanted to go to dances, to study music - I always loved it - and books ... In the 9th-10th grade I read 3-4 times less than in the lower grades. This is a normal process for teenagers. For them it becomes communication is more important, fashion, all teenagers become musical fools - this is the norm, you just have to go through it.

- Well, if the music, and if the endless computer games?

- Well, before? They ran and burned tires in a landfill - the same quests and shooters. If you look: well, what did we do before? Yes, the same. I don't see anything out of the ordinary.

Another thing is that we have a common process of decay and loss of culture, yes. And children just live in it all, grow on this soil. We are the humus for future generations.

- And what to do if the child is hard, he does not want to strain, he reads only from now to now?

- I will not say. My kids didn't have to be forced. We read to children - not me, my wife, rather - already when they were in the fifth grade, sixth. They, in my opinion, until the eighth grade all read together, I really liked it. The son is now 27 years old, the daughter is 24 years old. At some age, my daughter stopped reading altogether, but now she suddenly started again. The son, on the contrary, read a lot in childhood and youth, now he hardly reads. And guess what: they grew up in the same family, listened to the same books. Nothing can be calculated in advance.

If you want children to read, then you need to find time in any way: sit down with them, read. We make children brush their teeth, wash their faces. You have the right not to read something, but at least the school curriculum. Here we must insist.

But most importantly: children living in different corners Earth, they know and love the bright poems and fairy tales of Andrei Usachev. Today Andrey Alekseevich's books appear in every house where children live. Because modern pedagogy has proven: with his books, children grow up cheerful and inquisitive.

Andrey Alekseevich Usachev

Andrey Usachev - famous Russian children's writer poet, playwright, screenwriter. More than 100 of his books for children have been published in Russia.

Andrei Alekseevich entered the Moscow Institute of Electronic Technology. I studied 4 courses there and moved to the philological faculty of Tver State University.

Since 1985, Andrey Usachev began to publish his poems.

In 1990, his book of poems "If you throw a stone up" won the first prize at the All-Russian competition of young writers for children.

In 1991 he became a member of the Writers' Union.

Andrey Usachev's books have been translated into many languages: Hebrew, Moldavian, Polish, Serbian, Ukrainian.

Music written to the verses of Andrey Usachev famous composers, such as Maxim Dunaevsky, Teodor Efimov, Pavel Ovsyannikov. He composed music for some of his poems himself.

In addition to poetry and prose, Andrey Usachev writes scripts for puppet theaters. His plays are shown in 20 theaters in Russia.

Usachev worked on television. He wrote scripts and songs for the program "Vesyolayaya kampania" for the multi-part feature film "Drakosha and Company". For several years, he hosted children's radio programs "Merry Radio Company" and "Flying Sofa".

In 2005, Andrey Alekseevich became a laureate of the festival of satire and humor "Golden Ostap" for songs for children, as well as a laureate of the Annual National Competition "Book of the Year" for the book "333 Cats".

In 2006, he became a laureate of the international competition "Peter and the Wolf-2006" for the best work for children.

Andrei Usachev has many talents. He is a playwright, screenwriter and radio host, the founder of the "Cheerful School of Children's Writers", where in a theatrical form a wide range of knowledge is brought to the younger generation - from visual arts to astronomy. But Usachev considers the literary field to be the main thing for himself, his favorite pastime is writing books for children.

Childhood and youth

Andrey Usachev was born in Moscow in July 1958 in a family of teachers. The craving for creativity woke up at school when I had to write songs for the school ensemble "Keys". But at first, poetry was not very interesting, he preferred prose - he read out, and. "Two Captains" and "Urfin Deuce" "wiped to holes."

Seriously, Andrei became interested in poetry thanks to the album “On the Waves of My Memory” and tried to compose lyrical, and later humorous poems. Works about which the writer has prepared thesis, helped to make a choice between humor and children's literature. It happened around the age of 27. And after graduating from school, Usachev dreamed of becoming a professional drummer, but entered the Institute of Electronic Technology.

It took Andrei 4 years to understand that he does not like and does not want to “obey and command”, therefore he served in the army and transferred to the philological department of Kalinin (now Tver) State University. A writer, according to the writer, is a free person.

Later, Usachev came to the radio, where he hosted the programs “Merry Radio Campaign”, “Flying Sofa”, wrote scripts for cartoons. The collection “Malusya and the Rogopedist” got into the rank of bestsellers, which, as methodological guide used by speech therapists. The textbook on "Basics of Life Safety" and "Declaration of Human Rights" are recommended for the school curriculum

Literature

Consciously, Andrei Usachev stepped into the literary field in 1985, at the same time the first poem was published in the Murzilka magazine. Recognition quickly came in the professional environment: in 1990, the collection "If you throw a stone up" was awarded an award for all-Russian competition budding writers. A year later, the first book was published, and the author became a member of the Writers' Union of Russia.

The characters of Usachev's poems were candy and ladybug, flowers and fish, balloons, and after reading "Non-Scary Horror Stories", the children got acquainted with the mythical, drums and ghosts.

The popular cycle "Smart Dog Sonya" began with the cartoon of the same name. Then the dog's reflections and the search for answers to questions took the form of books. Hedgehog Storybook Awarded main prize International Literary Festival "Wind of Change". For "333 cats" Andrey in 2006 was noted at the national competition "Book of the Year". Usachev wrote "1000 and 1 Mouse" and "Mouse" on the "order" of a young reader who asked the writer to pay attention not only to cats.

The first copies of "Wrong Tales" were read with pleasure by adult "uncles and aunts" at the publishing house, recalling their own childhood and such familiar poems, songs and stories that acquired a somewhat parodic character. The book is intended for a prepared reader who knows that in the "Turnip" it is the turnip that is pulled, and not the fish, and in the "Little Red Riding Hood" the wolf ate the girl, not the fly agaric.

Based on the School of Snowmen, an audio performance was staged on the radio. The main characters of the book are and, and the snowmen are their helpers, and they all live together in the village of Dedmorozovka. This fabulous locality Andrei came up with, by his own admission, in protest. Usachev categorically does not like how the officials framed the story around the grandfather and granddaughter, with the construction of residences, tongue-tied speeches on Christmas trees: "As a United Russia deputy." The writer believes that the children of Santa Claus should be presented as

"normal good common man, which are still found in our dying villages.

The series also includes "Ghost from Dedmorozovka", "Olympic Village Dedmorozovka", "Bag of Laughter" and others.

Not only come out from under the pen of Usachov works of art, but also original textbooks, the names of which speak for themselves. For example, "The multiplication table in verse", "The ABC of good behavior", "Drawing lessons", "Rules of the road".

The book "Zoology for Children" is a mini-encyclopedia about animals, with colorful illustrations and scientific commentaries outlined in plain language. "The Great and Mighty Russian Language" consists of poems that explain idiomatic expressions and phraseological units to children.

In 2013, the cartoon "The Adventures of Kotoboy" was released, for which Andrey Usachev reworked 4 stories about the Cat-Captain, his assistant and Little Mouse. In addition to him, the writer adapted 14 more works for television, including Bigelow's Maiden, The Girl and the Mole, and A Knight's Affair.

However, back in 2011, Andrei Alekseevich said that multipliers who understand author's intention and those who know how to convey it to young viewers are few. Therefore, the author did not like the project “Grandfather Mazai and others”, and “Prince Vladimir” was frankly bad.

Personal life

In response to questions about his personal life, Andrei Usachev adheres to the humorous tone taken in his youth - he says that he has been married for “30 years and 3 years”, just like in a fairy tale. He raised a son and a daughter with his wife. The writer gives positive characteristics to everyone - his wife, children, relatives, hometown. Even the country and “sometimes the government”, and those are good.

"And great luck with the planet."

Andrei does not use social networks - there is no time for this, this is a “big dump”, where impunity reigns. A person who allows himself to insult others on the Internet will never say anything to his face, but he must be held accountable for his words and deeds. If someone wants to look for a writer on the Web, then let him turn to online stores that distribute his works.

Usachev himself rarely reads, because he gets tired of writing. However, if a book falls into the hands, then it will be the works of Yuz Aleshkovsky or.

Of his contemporaries, Andrei likes Marina Pototskaya, Evgeny Klyuev, poems by Galina Dyadina and Mikhail Yasnov. According to the writer, things are much better with children's poetry in Russia than with prose. In addition to compatriots, Usachev recommends turning to foreign authors, among whom he himself likes Dick King Smith and.

Andrey Usachev now

In 2018 Andrey Usachev celebrated his 60th birthday. As is customary with representatives creative professions, the writer presented a gift to admirers of his work - another book dedicated to the smart dog Sonya was published. This time, the funny mongrel, through the efforts of the author, learned to keep a diary.

The presentation of the work, which is called “The Diary of a Dog Sonya”, took place in September at the House of Books on Novy Arbat, in Moscow. Guests of the event had the opportunity to purchase a book autographed by Usachov and take pictures with the writer.

The conflict with the Soyuzmultfilm studio spoiled the festive picture, in particular, the company's intention to shoot the continuation of famous cartoons. Usachev was offered to develop a script for film stories about a hero whom he glorified in the Soviet Union. The writer called such a move theft and how negative example cited the continuation of Prostokvashino, criticized. The latter, as you know, was the author of the original, familiar to millions of stories.
