Among them are the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Athens state orchestra, Baltimore chamber orchestra, symphony orchestras of Jacksonville (USA) and Winnipeg (Canada). In China, he has collaborated with the National Symphony Orchestra, the Shanghai Philharmonic, Jiangsu, Macau, Kaohsiung, Taiwan and others. In one of his many interviews, Matsuev was asked how many hours a day he works out to achieve such amazing technique. To which Denis joked: “I have enough concerts!”. Which is not surprising: the pianist sometimes gives more than two hundred and sixty concerts a year - in all parts of the globe. In recent years, he has performed with so many symphony orchestras that you can’t list them all: Chicago, Pittsburgh, Air Force Orchestra, Cincinnati Orchestra, Bavarian and West German Radio Orchestras, Leipzig Gewandhaus, Royal Scots, National Orchestra France and many others. He has traveled all over the world, performing with such outstanding contemporary conductors as Valery Gergiev, Yuri Temirkanov, Mariss Jansons, Zubin Mehta, Kurt Masur, Charles Duthoit, Alan Gilbert, Yuri Bashmet, Mikhail Pletnev, Vladimir Spivakov and many others. A landmark event for the musician was the presentation to him in 2010 of one of the most prestigious world music awards - the Prize. D.D. Shostakovich. In 2014, the pianist became a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador. In 2016, Denis Matsuev was awarded the Order of Honor, and in 2017 he received State Prize Government of Russia in the field of culture.
